Gameweek 28 concludes tonight with the hotly-anticipated Merseyside Derby. Bragging rights are up for grabs in Liverpool, and for us fantasy managers so are double gameweek points. The Dugout Discussion opens for the fourth day on-the-bounce, as team news from Anfield emerges…

Liverpool XI: Reina, Kelly, Skrtel, Carragher, Jose Enrique, Henderson, Gerrard, Spearing, Downing, Carroll, Suarez.

Everton XI: Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Coleman, Rodwell, Fellaini, Pienaar, Stracqualursi, Anichebe.

Kenny Dalglish names an attacking line-up, desperate to put an end to his prolonged set of horrendous results. Andy Carroll partners Luis Suarez, and Steven Gerrard returns to the starting eleven.

Celebrating 10 years of continuous employment this week, David Moyes could see his side leap-frog their city rivals with a win. It’s surprising then that, despite his winner against Spurs, Nikica Jelavic is dropped to the bench along with John Heitinga. In their place, Denis Stracqualursi and Phil Jagielka come in.

Follow the game as it unfolds in our Dugout Discussion chatroom, which can be accessed right here.

He got lucky with the first assist and the second was a very easy cross. It won't happen often and do you know it's his first double figure haul in FPL.

B and D surely. Young is a rotation risk but in his current form SAF isn't likely to leave him on the bench and, with Agger not a million miles away, is Srktel a 100% starter?

If Suarez didn't score points today I was all set to transfer him out for Rooney and downgrade Silva for a hit, but now I'm not so sure.

I feel like Rooney vs Wolves is must have, but don't want to drop RVP or Ba or Suarez before Norwich and QPR fixtures.

    Should I get him in?

I'm in a very similar position (RVP Suarez and Ba up front)...I think I'm going to hold of on Rooney until GW30...I'm not convinced that he'll play against wolves.

I'm worried about that too, the worst scenario would be me taking a hit to get him in, and en him not even playing.
And I feel united have enough quality to beat wolves even if berbatov and Owen started up front, so Rooney could be rested.
I doubt he will though, and he looks to keep grabbing goals.

And if I keep Suarez for QPR, I'll want him against Wigan, so I guess I could drop Ba after Norwich

sous les ceiux looks decent in the 14:05, Wishful thinking for a couple of quid e-w in the 15:20 and the other e-w only for a couple of quid would be Silverhand in the 16:00. I dont normally go for long shots to be fair but there you have it. What about yourself, anything you fancy ?

i was reading about that earlier. my main fancy for the week is brindisi breeze on friday in the albert bartlett. won handsomely at haydock last time out. jumped brilliantly and had some good finishing speed considering it had just ran 3 miles. won by 12l easing up against some pretty decent opposition. Has a great chance.

Everyone raises their game for the mighty Barca!

Reporter: Mr ColeHole, 4vetti's delivered a decisive home victory - any regrets?

CH: No, no not at all. An away game at the San Siro... it would have been a miracle if we had won. Why plan for miracles? After Kompany's injury, changes were inevitable.

I'm happy to lose by 5 points - if I had not taken -4 extra, the loss by 1 point would be agony. In BATE, we say " a day without agony is one to remember", so we remember today, we smile,eh?

R: Looking forward to next week...

CH: Yes, we host the mighty Meelan. It is preferable for us not to rely on the lightning to strike twice against Barca - so we must win next week. BATE is not, as you say "pushover". We are prepared to fight.

R: Any insights into your strategy?

CH: I will try to play our strongest team. At home, we are a different team - I think not so easy to beat, eh?

Again I offer my congratulations to winning manager. I hope next week, he will do the same 😉

Has no relevance to me saying i don't think Taiwo to Ridgwell is worth a hit, but it makes some sense, WBA in good form, with good fixtures, have improved defensively and he offers a goal threat.

You think Enrique is in danger of losing his place in the long term? I honestly think Kelly is good enough to be a regular at RB for Liverpool and Johnson is more than capable at LB

enrique seemed to have a tough month around january but i personally can't see him being dropped, kelly's performances would only threaten johnson imo with any game johnson does get at lb in cup matches if enrique needs a breather

It's a shame if Kelly is dropped when Johnson is back, i'd love to see him progress even more with regular football. Plus i can't see Liverpool loaning him out (although i'd LOVE to have him at Rovers for a season)

Kelly is a very good RB, but he started out as a CB, and will probably move over there long term once Johnson goes and Flanagan comes though.

I don't think Enrique has any competition tbh, Johnson at LB has worked when injuries have been difficult for the squad, but Enrique is definitely first choice, Aurelio is his competition at LB, and he hasn't played all season.

Kelly is only 21/22, he can sit on the bench and take his opportunity when it comes, he's not a bad backup to have.

And while he did fairly well offensively as well as a solid defensively performance, some of his attacking decision making wasn't the best

hmm a 2nd shot off target has appeared, must be the one first half when he got a tiny toes onto it. if that's counted as a shot then yeah can see enrique getting the 1

4vetti, manager of AC Milan, left the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza with a smile on his face tonight, knowing he was extremely lucky to win the tie with BATE Borisov, especially as his job was in jeopardy if AC were to lose the match. BATE were noticeably without Nani & Kompany whilst AC suffered when Villa scored a late goal to rob Schwarzer and Riise CS points whilst also having Vorm on the bench.

Standing next to his beloved Ferrari Enzo, with adoring fans chanting support in the background 4vetti said “Ciao! This week eet is different as we sacrificed much to win this match. We played well but I expect more from the team, more passion, more love, più amore appassionato for the way we play. Si, our defence needs a leeetle tweaking as cleeen sheeets are not happening, but I am happy. The team is happy. We are all happy. Siamo felici, felici, felici!”

Taking a large swig from a Milanista hip flask, 4vetti took charge of his car and drove off, only to be stopped by the Polizia, breathalysed and then bundled into the back of a van.

Later, his lawyers issued the following statement “No comment”.

why the hell no one marks mario gomez every time he scores?

can some expert tell me if he get all those tap-in/free header chances if he is playing against a team who can defend well?

saw the highlight of the game, and except for the volley, every average football player have enough skill to score all of his other 3 goals, no doubt.

what makes him score so damn many goals?

Just hit the confirm button on Silva-Young now I have the exact money to do Sess-Walcott for 4 point hit, obviously if Sess was to drop or Walcott was to rise I wouldn't be able to afford the transfer, not sold on Walcott this week and would likely bench him, however Arsenals upcoming fixtures look good so should i make the transfer? Team is

      Krul/Vorm
      Skrtel/Enrique/Caulker/Evans/Kelly
      Bale/Young/Dempsey/Sess/Siggy
      Rvp/Rooney/Ba

Agreed ... Stevie had a great game, no doubt ... but he looked proppy at half time and he is immensely injury prone. Both have good fixtures, but Arsenal are in a scoring mood at the moment and Walcott has RVP to finish his assists, as opposed to Gerrard who has Carroll and Suarez who both couldn't hit a barn door.

          Mind you ... a hat-trick?!!!!

still think gerrard is an expensive danny murphy.
however their fixtures are arguably 2nd to man utd and he's on pens, corners and free kicks and we've all built up silly team values. i normally wouldn't even look at him but with silva's struggles and the 3 utd players into 2 spots thing along with other alternatives like mata being allergic to away points and VDV's playing hide and seek since october then maybe it isn't mad to consider gerrard with walcott.
if the man utd winger situation clear up by gw30 then you can always ditch gerrard having giving him qpr,WIG.
knee-jerk? possibly a mild patella pump

exactly, so i've reassessed (can't predict the future, well at least not a hattrick in the derby match).
