Have Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney made this Fantasy football lark look easy? Get the pair in, alternate the armband and watch the points flow. Simples.

Even if it really is that straightforward, there’s still a role for “the third man”, the striker that slots alongside the two titans. In this week’s ScoutCast, we rinse this once through, throw some names around and argue a few theories of our own.

Chuck in the usual bandwagon review in “All Aboard”, the Gameweek preview and Mark’s latest gentle Fantasy Premier League reform idea and you have another episode packed and ready to go.

Grab the banter here, or stream away with the handy player below.

        If the Premier League was the Derby then they've just hit the 3 furlong pole, push has come to shove and the whips are starting to fly.

        Not a good time for Mr Rooney to have a breather then!

      I agree. Many times rest has been thrown around on this site (often re RVP), but resting when the race for first is clearly Man U's main goal (well, only goal at this point) is highly unlikely.

    I wonder if City have believed their own hype. They've been praised so much in the media etc that maybe they've started to think that they only have to turn up and when they go behind and things aren't going their way they don't know what to do.

        United were poor tonight, but in general United have shown an ability to come from behind that City don't seem to have.

        City are superb when they're ahead and things are going well, but they look devoid of ideas when they have to chase a game.

        United have been guilty of that at times, but they still know how to do it.

      Correct me if I am wrong, but they've not really been in a position where they have been 2 or 3 behind and had to pull it out of the bag. They have no impact subs because the team is rotated so much, they know that if they aren't playing this week then they probably will in a few weeks time. I think that kind of attitude enables players to get a bit lazy.

      That said, they have the talent in their team to turn it around.

        It's true what you say but they have no experience of chasing a game, that's what I'm saying they look lost. They know how to play when they're cruising but when they're behind they seem to just lose it.

      Tough call. Valencia will be a bargain if/when he returns to health, but now hard to see him starting on the weekend.

      Silva to Walcott or Young. Or Valencia to the same (if you have the funds).

      Longer term, Silva to Young and Valencia to Yaya (or Walcott if you can afford) isn't crazy.

    think I've decided that investing in united mid can wait a week to get a clearer view of the whole situation - realised next week I can do:

    silva -> walcott
    moses -> valencia

    to leave me with a mid of:

    walcott / valencia / dempsey / bale / miyachi

    Not sure whether I should make a transfer this week but quite keen to take out Richards for BAE. Squad is:

    Schwarzer

    Evans Skrtel Richards

    Bale Dempsey McClean Miyaichi
