With the Aston Villa and Bolton fixture understandably postponed, we’re at Ewood Park tonight as Gameweek 29 soldiers on. It’s relegation-threatened Blackburn at home to the recently relentless Sunderland. Fantasy managers are likely to have modest interest – with Yakubu and James McClean the most likely hopefuls on show. Nevertheless, our Dugout Discussion chatroom has opened up to catch your reactions as the match progresses.

Blackburn XI: Robinson, Lowe, Dann, Hanley, Martin Olsson, Nzonzi, Pedersen, Formica, Hoilett, Marcus Olsson, Yakubu.

Sunderland XI: Mignolet, Bardsley, Kyrgiakos, Turner, Bridge, Larsson, Gardner, Vaughan, McClean, Bendtner, Campbell.

The team news finds Kean resisting the temptation to tinker, despite the availability of David Dunn, Gael Givet and Bradley Orr. It’s an unchanged lineup from the one that saw off Wolves at Molineux last time out then.

As for the visitors, they’re without skipper John O’Shea, presumably through injury or illness, so Sotirios Kyrgiakos comes into the back four for his Black Cats debut. Elsewhere, Martin O’Neill brings in David Vaughan for Jack Colback.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and can be accessed right here.

Anybody thinking of taking a hit for a keeper then read on

The earlier you do it , the more value you will get , who wants only one keeper for nine gameweeks?
    Well worth a hit ,

Bring in Bogdan , and you immediatly pay for the hit as they have an extra fixture (DGW)

even the blackburn fans would agree that he was the best player on the pitch today, and by some distance. ofcourse then you would say that the teams on the field were 'just' blackburn and sunderland.
mclean put in at least 4 crosses which could have resulted in a goal if these two numpties campbell and bendtner knew how to tap in.
even the commentators were rooting for a mcclean assist lol

I think you're exaggerating his impact massively in that comment. He's probably my pick out of a very poor Sunderland side, but that's not saying much.

Ah, good point. Didn't think of him. Bendtner and Campbell and Ji were all completely useless today. So slow in reaction, poor first touch, no aggression. Really bad stuff from all three of them.

I wouldn't say completely, the lack of meaningful skill position rotation and the lack of Sess has taken a toll but in general Sunderland live off of exploiting an organized team's lack of concentration. The honeymoon is over, some of the goals they scored on their post sacking run should have been the tealeaves the people needed.

Disagree, he was Sunderland's best player tonight, if they had a decent striker (i.e. Sess) he would have got at least an assist.

Look as his GW history, his poor weeks have co-incided with a lack of Sess (Sunderland's best player)

ok folks any changes needed for next week

    Mingolet

    Evans, Skrtel, Caulker

    Bale. Young. McClean, Siggy

    RvP, Rooney (c), Ba

    Schwarzer, santon, Dempsey, Taiwo

I want to hold Young for at least this week as i think he'll play so I'm tempted to save my FT this week to get Ade in for Ba next and probably lose Bale (in order to fund Lamps)

Who is highest priority to remove with 1 FT?

1 - Silva - not getting the returns for a player of his price. Get Gerrard or mata in.
2 - Ba - cisse stealing his thunder?
3 - Taiwo - I know!! But I have Skrtel, BAE, Simpson and Evans as other 4. So Taiwo can remain bench fodder and use FTs on attacking players.

Doosra, Warnock had lost the dressing room. Difficult to really keep a manager when that happens. Plenty of stuff come out since he left that supports that view.

Wolves fans believe the same thing happened with Bg Mick. Again, if that happens its hard to justify keeping a dead man walking in the job and hoping things will improve.

Wolves problem was that they were lowballing all the decent managers they were looking at and in the end they went with a guy who was part of MM's team and thus part of the problem.

Our problems began before a ball was kicked. We've bought in so many different players that the current team have had no time to gel.

You have players that bought us up from the Championship sitting in one corner of a dressing room earning £15k a week and then players like SWP and Barton earning 4 times as much (and not doing much to earn it either).

But I think both sets of boards made those moves because they genuinely believed that it was the best chance they had of staying up.

Nomar - I finally got round to watching the Four Year Plan last night, very interesting stuff, and amusing at times - 'I f*cking want to sell this idiot!'. 😀

Do you know how much of a say Amit Bhatia had into the production and selection of footage? Because the whole program seemed to paint him in a very positive light.

Paladini thinks that Bhatia had a big hand in the production crew of the film.

Barton, ironically Warnocks prize signing, appears to have been the catalyst for Warnock's demise.

Hey guys. I’m chasing in a minileague and have my wildcard left. Thinking if I should use it now or spare it a couple of gameweeks. Team is as follows:
    Krul – Mignolet
JEvans – Shotton – Enrique – Simpson – Kelly (Fulham)
    Dempsey – Walcott – Bale – Morrison – Buzsaky
Rooney – RVP – Papiss Cisse

I’ve got 1 FT and 2.2 in the bank. Should I use the 1 FT to get Valencia instead of Morrison thus saving my WC or should I do more changes to try and catch up, some differentials or something like that?

    Cheers in advance!

your teams looking strong and the transfer you mention if the one you should do, with roy telling us he is going to rotate wbas good fixtures could be a rotation minefield

I'm about 60 behing minileague leader, have been closing the gap steadily.. currently have:

    krul sorenson

    cahill skrtel rangel evans santon

silva bale demp sess ben arfa

    rvp yak suarez

0.1m in bank, 2 free transfers

happy enough with my team for next GW, kept sess just for it and i dont mind having krul in every game if it saves me a GK transfer... any opinions?

If you're happy with your team, now is surely the time to lose Sorenson considering you have 2 FTs.

But you'll still have 2 transfers next week even if you make a change this week. Your extra transfer will carry over.

Foster or Mignolet to rotate with Schwarzer? Who do you reckon will get most clean sheets?

Foster: Newcastle, Blackburn, QPR, Villa, Arsenal

Mignolet: QPR, Spurs, Wolves, Bolton, Man U.

Not necessarily. I haven't used my transfer yet. But if i go for Foster, I'll almost definitely take a hit to get rid of Ba. I might take a hit to take out Ba anyway.

either way you would be spending 4 points involving gettin a keeper in. i only have schwarzer too
