Premier League champions Manchester United close out Gameweek 30 at home to Fulham. With a seemingly routine opportunity to open a three-point gap over city rivals, the Dugout Discussion opens to witness the potential fantasy points feast.

The team news for the clash at Old Trafford is in. Here is how the two sides line-up…

Man Utd XI: De Gea, Evra, Ferdinand, Evans, Rafael, Carrick, Giggs, Valencia, Rooney, Young, Welbeck.

Fulham XI: Schwarzer, Kelly, JA Riise, Hangeland, Hughes, Diarra, Dempsey, Pogrebnyak, Duff, Frei, Dembele.

Sir Alex makes two changes from the eleven that battered Wolves last week, with Ryan Giggs and Ashley Young replacing Paul Scholes and Javier Hernandez respectively.

Three changes for the visitors with Aaron Hughes, Kerim Frei and Damian Duff coming in for Philippe Senderos, Andrew Johnson and Bryan Ruiz.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and can be accessed right here.

Id love that as a rooney Captainer myself but just cant see it.

5 shots, 1 on target, one goal.
            Not playing full game

Evans has brilliant stats, CS, 90, Assist and pretty sure he got in a few blocks.

4 blocked shots though, so I guess it could work out as 1 shot, 1 on target.

I'd still guess he'll get the 2 though.

I really hope he gets 1 as 2 or more boners for Rooney loses me my H2H!

@Elnino - Please confirm my doubts on qualification in the cup on event of tie

    Suppose
    Team A-12pts
    Team B-9pts
    Team C-9pts
    Team D-6pts

If Team B and Team C have a h2h record of 1-1, but Team B has a better h2h gd than Team C, who will qualify? Or will it depend on Team B and Team C's overall gd.

The standard procedure for qualification in UEFA Champions League group stage is:
    1. Head to head points, 2. Head to head goal difference, 3. Away goals between tied teams, 4. Goal difference, 5. Goals scored

              Yup TM is right, Pratik.

              For this cup, its:
              1) h2h record (win/loss)
              2) overall GD
              3) away points scored b/w tied teams.

Overall GD makes it more comprehensive (for 6 games) imo rather than just h2h GD (2 games). Also overall GD is a tad easier to monitor for the managers and thereby improve on it.

In my opinion, the best combination is one hard working winger, and one flair. That would mean valencia keeping his place and young/nani rotating. And its a lot easier to accept him being rested because he's so much cheaper.

At what league position does it start to get really tight at the top? Myself and Mrs China Mag have been rising quite steadily for the last 4 weeks (little hiccup for me in GW29), while getting solid but not great scores. I'm up to 57,000 and she's up to 27,000. Where is the ceiling, ie at what stage do you need a great score, just to avoid a red arrow?

Funnily enough I was actually swaying towards a). Would rather not have to play Bogdan (apart from his pending DGW), and Migs fixtures aren't great. There's also the chance that Shotton could start against WIG so I'd kick myself if I got rid and he scored well.

Bigger goal threat, Arsenal on form. I want a TOT defender also though, hence why I'm either getting Kaboul or Friedel as well (BAE is a great option, just not sure if he's worth the extra over the 2 I just mentioned).

Kinda thought they had nearly guaranteed cs from their last two fixtures, too, though. My two weeks of double 'pool defenders with four points total to show for it were a bit disappointing, to put it mildly. Not quite confidence-inspiring.

My plan was always Suarez > Rooney but I don't want to take Suarez out and I really fancy bringing Verm in.

Which combo would you prefer to get more points?

    a) Suarez + Verm
    b) Rooney + Skrtel

A is definitely a differential and could easily match/outscore B if Rooney's form in GW24-28 was just a purple patch. Who knows if Suarez will start scoring and finally live up to his FPL potential though?

"Who knows if Suarez will start scoring and finally live up to his FPL potential though?"

one of the questions of the season.

this might be his time to shine and come good to push LIV back up the table. or he might continue to be rubbish.

at lease Rooney has proved himself in the last few weeks. not something you can say about Suarez.

He's actually been playing very well. Almost had a brace on the weekend. Scored a cracker in the cup against Stoke and played a blinder against Everton before that putting 2 goals on a plate for Gerrard. He has 12 goals in 31 this season, which isn't great but it's not near as terrible as people around here make out. He just didnt meet expectations earlier this season and then the whole Evra thing has turned him into the bad guy. I think if it was any other striker in the PL the wheels of a bandwagon would be beginning to turn 😉

all true but at this stage of the season, almost scoring a brace is of little consolation for FPL managers. and at his price, he's not value for money at the moment.

Well he still scored one which isn't to be sniffed at. I dont think price really matters That much at this stage, particularly with so many people getting popular cheaper options like Valencia & Siggy while downgrading Silva, Bale, Dempsey & Nani.

Tbh I think he's just as good as any other 3rd forward option and he also seemed to hit form same time last year.

Lots of Verm love on here. Which is good. Since I need opinions that kind off have something to do with Verm...

I have 3.8m in cash. Own Rvp. Our mini league is tight with less than 10 pts separating positions 1-3. No 2 in league have never owned(!) Rvp this season. He owns Walcott and the little twat is matching Rvp lately. Very annoying.

I have Ba, which is a major headache. Do i get Walcott for a 4pt hit in for Mclean and in the same swoop solve my Ba problem by getting Cisse in? Or judt get Verm in for free?

QPR has not kept a CS since 23/10/11 and will shirley not keep a cs vs Ars. They do tend to score though, even with Cisse susp.

      😕

I was going to advise you to maybe double up on Everton's defence with Howard, then saw that Wolves have only managed one goal and conceded 14 in their last 4 games! 14 !!! or going back even further, they've conceded 21 in their last 6 games!! So therefore I recommend possibly playing Miyaichi over Sigurdsson?

Arsenal are finally in some good defensive form, and City have been shit away from home for weeks now..
        Stoke 1-1
        Swansea 0-1
        Villa 1-0
        Everton 0-1
        Wigan 1-0

        WBA 0-0
        Chelsea 1-2

Fair point. I know Verm has done welll over the past few weeks, but Arsenal for me still has an unreliable defence.
With a fixture of extreme importance to city, with their best team out there on Emirates, I can see them banging more than the solitary goal. Underestimate city at your own peril even though they are playing away.

They've had their best team out their for these fixtures too.
The thing is, Aguero doesn't perform away, Silva has been in poor form since 2011, Balotelli has been anonymous on the field for a few weeks, and Nasri is hot and cold, I don't get how they are no chance to keep a clean sheet

Theo is cool for a 4pt hit. But a 4pt for a defender hardly ever works out for the immediate future. If it's long term and you are beset with injuries only then a 4pt hit for verm.

I know that reasoning. But what always amuses me is if you do 2 trades for a 4pt hit and let's say one of the trades are a def, who says the def was not the free trade and Theo the trade for the 4pt hit?

BTW, the Verm trade will be for free since I have 3.8m. Theo would be the 4pt hit.

Ok, let's rephrase the whole Ba Dilemma...If you were not a Ba owner and were looking for a 3rd striker. Would you buy Cisse at 6.8m considering Newc fixtures?

Well I own Ba, so I'm considering it. Thing is I also want Walcott for Qpr, and thinking this is surely the week to "solve" both issues with a reasonably good chance to recover th 4pt hit.

I'm more interested to find out how non Ba owners are looking at Cisse as a 3rd striker.

Intriguing, i own ba as well just want this cisse nightmare to end tbh. JOA on the other hand has already made the straight swap.

Yes, but probably from GW33 onwards (unless price is a major issue)

Absolutely this. LIV, swa aren't the greatest fixtures for us. I will be benching Dave for swansea. But he could have risen by 0.5m by the time GW33 comes around, especially if he does well against liverpool.

Well it's more a timing thing to get Walcott in for Qpr and to recover the 4pt hit immediately. No way will Pool keep a Cs vs New either.

The last gw I look a -4 for:

    Silva>>>>Walcott
    Skertel>>>>Evans

I have never been happier taking a hit. Clawed back the -4 and some!

Anyone else want to borrow the sports almanac? Butter hurry though Biff has been sniffing around it and I think that he's up to no good! 😉

Currently I have the exact same front 7 as you....In fact other than Kompany it's exactly the same team (discounting the bench)!

The only thing I am trying to change is Ba but for the life of me I can't decide for who. I may just save the transfer this week and deal with it then make some more cash and get Adebayor!

        Your team looks fine mate!

Excellent. I did Silva/Walters-->Siggy/Val. So no great shakes there. Siggy's unexpected haul vs Ful screwed up my thinking. I was planning on only getting siggy from gw 32 and now I'm paying the price.

My defence is at an all time high of a shambles. Simpson evans ok but then I've to sort out senderos shot ton and Shirley. Need bale in as well so currently thinking gerrard for bale Shirley for Cahill or should I do something else. Is it worth a further 4 point hit to take out senderos?
