Emmanuel Adebayor is a considerate soul. The on loan Tottenham striker is currently rebuilding a school and creating two new hospitals in his native Togo, where he has also rather kindly given up his home to 100 orphans.

It’s not just back in his home country where his generosity is attracting attention. Back in the Premier League, Adebayor is a striker who just can’t stop giving. Time and time again this season, the striker has pulled out some surprise points hauls to lift the spirits of the 9.3% of Fantasy managers who have acquired his services.

With a total of 147 points, he is the joint-fourth top striker in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. Adebayor has proven to be both goalscorer and provider in almost equal measure; 11 goals has impressed, while 12 assists is more than any other forward this season. He’s hoovered up the bonus points too, with his current haul of 21 fourth best for frontmen.

The 9.0 priced striker has been capable of explosive returns this term, too. Adebayor has produced four double digit weekly points hauls to date and is also a member of an elite club of players that have smashed the 20 point barrier in a gameweek, with a score of 21 in the Gameweek 25 five-goal hammering of Newcastle also hinting at a blossoming relationship with fellow on-loan striker Louis Saha.

With this excellent track record, it’s no surprise to see us turn our attentions to Adebayor as Tottenham begin their charitable set of fixtures from now until the end of the season. Today’s confirmation of a double Gameweek 36 for Harry Redknapp’s side means the Togo international has (SWA, sun, NOR, blank, qpr, BLA & bol) in the next six, with the trip to Sunderland the only potential pitfall, while the double against Blackburn and Bolton is surely set to see plenty investment come his way.

There are caveats. He can have a tendency to appear to wander in games and barely make a shot on goal, though sometimes his lethargic swagger can mask his hard work. Adebayor is still amongst the very top strikers in the Premier League in terms of attempts on goal and passing in the opposition half, though the fact that he has failed to score more than 2 points on twelve occasions will worry his would-be investors.

With Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie’s form making them arguably undroppable, Adebayor is a relatively expensive addition to many mangers’ frontlines but, as a first-choice forward in a top-four team, with spot-kicks also in the bag, the 9.0 price tag has still proven to be strong value.

As Spurs returned to winning ways in the 3-1 FA Cup defeat of Bolton in midweek, the London outfit could be set to take advantage of their obliging run of fixtures as they hunt down Arsenal in the chase for third; Adebayor could prove to be a key acquisition over the remainder of the season as the race between the north London rivals heats up.

the key to Adebayor is that he an go for ages with just 2 pts and then suddenly out of nowhere a 20 pt er comes along. He's on my post gwk 34 radar definitely. Certainly the best third striker option for the double for those rich enough for his skills.

Just looking at my planned team for GW34 and it is as follows:

    Mignolet (WOL)
    Evans (AVL)
    Caulker (BLA)
    Vermaelen (WIG)
    McClean (WOL)
    Moses (ars)
    Valencia (AVL)
    Siggy (BLA)
    RVP (WIG)
    Rooney (AVL)
Bendtner (oh yeah that’s right, don’t hate on me haters) (WOL)

What a line-up (on paper at least), could end up with more points in 34 than 36 with 5 or 6 players playing twice looking at that lot!

Who to start out of Skrtel, Simpson & Kelly?

Kelly probably has the best fixture of the three but I can’t justify benching Skrtel with his goal threat. Simpson I think I’m defo benching due to Coloccini’s injury.

Any opinions? Do you really see Fulham keeping a clean sheet? Am I a fool to play Skrtel and hope for a goal with a low chance of a clean sheet?

Skrtel hasn't been showing much goal threat at all lately but I guess it's always there from a good set piece delivery.

      Kelly imo.

Cheers. You're right about Skrtel's attacking threat being lower but I immagine he's still more of a threat than Kelly.

The risk with benching Skrtel seems higher thought me whereas the max I would likely miss out on if I bench Kelly is 6.

Pondering the same thing myself for 32/33 to 36. Quite a few low/mid priced options with favourable fixtures (depending on the make up of your team). Without much research am currently drawn to the Yak, simply because he is the one that can be explosive.

Just a smalll point, "(SWA, sun, NOR, qpr, blank, BLA & bol)" are the fixtures quoted, but the blank game comes before the qpr fixture.

Good article though, I'm almost certain I'll be bringing him in for GW35

If only Ade was in slughtly better form. He coudl be a great replacement for Suarez.

It's a shame my Aguero transfer plan got side-swiped today too πŸ™

Wondering whether to play Siggy and bench Bale this week.

What do you think people...good, bad or unlikely to matter?

Siggy's the man in form. I just don't like benching expensive players. Has to be considered, though...

not that fussed about Ade at the moment. only thing i'd think about doing is:

    GW36: Rooney > Ade to give me 6x DGW-ers
    GW37: Ade > Rooney
