    Ok in a bit of a conundrum. Swansea V Newcastle next week. Have Sigurdsson, Ben Arfa, Caulker and Williamson.Hoping for it to be a great game since the Swans are at home but I don't see either keeping a clean sheet, so I'd love to have both Siggy and HBA on. Have no 3rd defender to play so I'm either stuck with one of Caulker or Williamson, or Bosingwa (who I haven't gotten around to transferring out yet). So who has more of a higher chance of fantasy returns, Caulker or Williamson?

      I thought Williamson was actually pretty legit from what I saw in the Newc v Liv highlights, but I'd still play Caulker for this one.

      Williamson is dangerous at corners, hit the post yesterday with one and almost scored another. Would have won me by bet at 39/1 Anytime goals scorer as well 🙁

      Having said that, Swansea will probably keep a clean sheet, so Caulker for me.

    We both have Rooney and Evans. He has A Young, I have Valencia. Basically Valencia has to outscore Young by 4.....the Dr has the upper hand.

    Totally agree with all the comments berating the BP system (and not a Dempsey owner). Sure the old system was subjective but by watching the game and looking for the 'man of the match' you could understand most decisions. It also brought more players into the game. off the top of my head Essien and that type of player. This years BP system is so random it actual takes away from the game, better to scrap it totally next year imo rather than have this awful ppi or whatever it is. Rant over.

      One was an own goal and the other scorer came on as a sub which hurts PPI scores.

      Chose Jelavic over Cisse this week, win some you lose some. But I'm still gonna keep him for his next two and then look to Bentdner of all people for GW34 against Wolves. Preferring the 3-5-2 formation at the moment anyway so prepared to take a gamble with that spot.

    By the book it should clearly be a Ba assist. And FPL should be playing by there own rules. No doubt.

    But arguably Ben Arfa did as much to create the goal-scoring opportunity by dummying it. You could call that an assist. As much as you could call winning a penalty or free kick an assist.

    How can anyone say that HBA 'clearly' didn't touch it? From what I saw it's 'clear' that nothing can be 'clear' in this situation. There was a touch, but it's hard to say whether it was a defender or HBA. I think that FPL should have given it to Ba given the ambiguousness of the situation, but it's their call.
    Anyway, those who say that HBA was 'nowhere near the ball' and 'clearly' didn't touch it must have a different amount of eyes than me. Not sure more or less though.

      From the standard angles, I agree. But Sky showed a replay from up high behind the goal and you could see, very clearly, that Ben Arfa was some way away from the ball.

      No reason why you should take my word for it of course (particularly as I have Ba), but for what it's worth, I give you my word that he absolutely did not touch it for 100% certain.

      I would bet every penny I have on it!

      The ball moved dead straight on the replay as it dummied through Ben Arfa's legs as he tried to jump over the defender's tackle. The continuing pass (from BA) reached an offside Cisse which he then scored. Ba --> Cisse ≠ Ben Arfa --> Cisse

      It's the Gervinho/Rooney thing all over again. The changes to the assist rules this year have created even more controversy, would like them to revert back to previous rules but I don't see it.

      We checked in the official PA stats and they've given it to Ben Arfa.

        But Granville, this one is fundamentally wrong. There was an angle shown on Sky that showed 100% that Ben Arfa could not possibly have touched the ball - can't they just look at it? It's not even debatable.

          The Press Association have examined the goal from all angles and their conclusion is Ben Arfa got a touch and therefore has the assist. The game uses their data and decisions like this are down to them. It has been reviewed but there's nothing we can do if the decision has been made.

    Took a -4 this game week to bring in Verm and Papiss for Ba and Skrtel. Could have got Baines over Verm, pretty pissed about that seeing as Papiss alone paid for the hit I cannot complain too much.
