A pivotal day of Premier League football sees both Manchester clubs involved, as the race for the title heats up. Justifying the “Super Sunday” billing, the Dugout Discussion opens for the opener at Old Trafford, where United are in a prime position to pile the pressure on City. They themselves visit the Emirates later this afternoon, facing an in form Arsenal.

The team sheets for the Manchester United – Queens Park Rangers game are in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Man Utd XI: De Gea, Rafael Da Silva, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Valencia, Scholes, Carrick, Young, Rooney, Welbeck.

QPR XI: Kenny, Onuoha, Ferdinand, Hill, Taiwo, Diakite, Derry, Mackie, Taarabt, Buzsaky, Bothroyd.

Two changes for the champions then, with Ashley Young and Danny Welbeck replacing Phil Jones and Javier Hernandez from the side that were victorious at Blackburn.

Somewhat surprisingly, Bobby Zamora is dropped to the substitutes bench for visitors, with Jay Bothroyd replacing him. Meanwhile, Joey Barton isn’t risked, with the midfielder one yellow card away from a two-match suspension.

Follow the action as it unfolds in our Dugout Discussion chatroom, which can be accessed right here.

I may have done if I was looking for a differential, but as neither rival owns him, then having him will suffice without the need to (C) him.

If Utd go on and win the title, which is now looking increasing likely, Scholes is surely the best signing of the season? And possibly Player of the Year, even though he only played a half season. Impact has been immense and possibly down to the reintroduction of Scholes?

I think Utd would have struggled without him. He has been the decisive factor in my opinion, and therefore in terms of impact on the title race, deserves recognition. He has never won POY as far as I am aware which is fairly staggering....

Of course it's helped him returning, but it's not been the decisive factor in any way. People forget how well the Anderson-Cleverly partnership did early season before both got injured.

If Anderson in particular had been fit all season, they would never have needed a Scholes return.

So if Bale is definitely injured, is the consensus him > Walcott instead of Dempsey?

Frees me up a transfer not worrying about getting Dempsey back in for GW35 allowing me to get a Bolton or Villa player without a hit and then getting Bale back in or vDV with my GW36 wildcard.

It's been 4-2-3-1 in recent matches.

          Bale, Modric, vDV behind Adebayor.
