With Sunderland’s upcoming fixtures affording Fantasy managers a viable route into the conundrum that is Gameweek 34 and double Gameweek 36, Stephane Sessegnon looks primed for investment. The top scoring Fantasy Premier League (FPL) player for Martin O’Neill’s side, Sessegnon has a couple of home games against two of the bottom five and, with the Black Cats performances at the Stadium of Light continuing to impress, the Benin international could be set to profit once again.

Many managers’ transfer plans now turn to the difficult weekend ahead and, with eight sides facing blanks, a tactical alternative is to focus on those with strong fixtures over both Gameweek 34 and 36. One of only three sides with favourable home fixtures in each of those Gameweeks – along with Swansea and West Brom – O’Neill’s outfit face an out-of-sorts Wolves on Saturday before playing host to Bolton in a fortnight’s time. Sandwiched in between is a trip to Villa – a clash that won’t deter Sessegnon’s potential suitors.

Despite their recent hammering at Everton, a look at Sunderland’s contrasting home/away form since the sacking of Steve Bruce indicates just how strong a force the Black Cats are in front of their own fans. While they have picked up 11 points from 10 ten games on the road, the Wearsiders have accrued 20 points from nine home fixtures under O’Neill. Six wins, a couple of draws and a single loss are indicative of their reliable home displays, with Arsenal the only side to escape with the three points.

With two goals, three assists and five bonus points over his eight home appearances under O’Neill, Sessegnon has returned a total of 48 points at the Stadium of Light – an average of six points per home game since Bruce’s dismissal. Indeed, in spite of Sunderland’s poor away form, Sessegnon has remained consistent on the road – a couple of goals, three assists and four bonus points is almost identical to his home returns and will instill plenty confidence ahead of the Gameweek 35 trip to Villa Park.

While a trip to Fulham and home clash with United look tricky, Sessegnon’s short-term fixtures promote him highly in the updated Watchlist rankings and, with Nicklas Bendtner a doubt due to a back injury, he may well be afforded the opportunity to lead the line once again, as O’Neill’s side look to bounce back from the Goodison mauling and finish the season on a high.

    Apologies to Elton ... 😀

Daniel is traveling tonight on a plane -
I can see the red tail lights heading for Spain!
Oh and I can see Daniel waving goodbye -
God it looks like Comoli, must be the clouds in my eyes ...

They say Spain is pretty, though I've never been,
Well Daniel says it's the best place that he's ever seen
Oh and he should know, he's been scouting enough
Lord I miss Daniel, oh I miss him so much!

Daniel my shield, you are older than me -
Do you still feel the pain of the scars that won't heal?
Carroll is still here, and Downing won’t say goodbye
Daniel you’ve left me like a pie in the sky

Daniel is traveling tonight on a plane
I can see the red tail lights heading for Spain
Oh and I can see Daniel waving goodbye
God it looks like Daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes
Oh God it looks like Comoli, must be the clouds in my eyes

    Elton, aka Kenny ... 😉

Beautiful Soup - a poem by Lewis Carroll

BEAUTIFUL Soup, so rich and green,
          Waiting in a hot tureen!
Who for such dainties would not stoop?
Soup of the evening, beautiful Soup!
Soup of the evening, beautiful Soup!

          Beau--ootiful Soo-oop!
          Beau--ootiful Soo-oop!
          Soo--oop of the e--e--evening,
          Beautiful, beautiful Soup!

Beautiful Soup! Who cares for fish,
          Game, or any other dish?
Who would not give all else for two
          Pennyworth only of Beautiful Soup?
          Pennyworth only of beautiful Soup?

          Beau--ootiful Soo-oop!
          Beau--ootiful Soo-oop!
          Soo--oop of the e--e--evening,
          Beautiful, beauti--FUL SOUP!

Im just wondering whether to use my 2nd FT to get Lescott in for him. Ideally i'd want to roll the transfer over so i get 2 FT for 36. It's the early kick off on Saturday and they played on Wednesday, got a feeling Zabaleta will play.

The Richards/Zab rotation seems very unpredictable. It doesn't seem like one is picked for big teams and vice versa. People thought it was Richards home, Zab away, but that's broken down. I believe it is more tactical, based on the strength of the opposing left flank. Richards gets forward more, Zab less, so you might play Richards against teams who don't offer much threat on the left flank. On that criterion I think there's a decent chance of him starting against Norwich.

Wary of investing in Brom defence given the state of it.

Villa defence isn't that bad but doesn't seem good enough to rely on the cleanies.

Have no idea what to do about third striker spot for GW36....

    Would you go with :

Sturridge/Torres due to Chelsea's slightly kinder fixtures..

    OR

Cisse due to the fact that he is on fire at the moment?

I should also point out that my main rival has Cisse and I am chasing a 100 point gap!

Because you're outdoing yourself before the games even kick off and I can see it being a tough game at Carrow Road. And look at his GW history. His away form is shoite! He loves playing at the Etihad and get so much room but he doesn't seem to get involved when they play away. I think it would backfire this week.

wondering if its better to play 11 in 34 and 6 dgw or 10 in 34 and 8 dgw... i know mathematically the second option is 90 mins more but the fact that so many single game players have good games makes it debatable.

    its either

sessegnon siggy rvp = 3 single players.. + 8 doubles from baines adebayor dempsey bale simpson kelly krul cisse

    or

sessegnon siggy rvp vermalen aguero = 5 single players + same doubles less adebayor and baines + aguero at norwich this week

or get the best out of the two teams for an 8 point hit.. ie have 11 for gw34.. and have ade and baines over aguero and vermalen for the double.. can even do a 4pt hit for one of them.. what to do???

    gaining

I did Miyachi to McCLean in order to get 12 players and thus cover for any blanks. But Kolarov is still one of only three defenders this week. Clever me.

Shall cross that bridge when I get to it. The way I see it I can gain far more by having a fullhouse this week over my rivals half empty squads than by loading up on doubles. That said I fully expect them to take hits this week without realising what a folly that is.

True. You could do serious damage to them this week. It is always a tricky one bringing in a player for now in lieu of a DGWer, but taking a hit for it is madness...

Plus I dont really want to play Caulker, reckon Blackburn will score. So I was trying to make him my first sub. Obviously I failed in that endeavour.

Yeah I haven't made the transfers yet. Running through all the possibilities - I'm really minded to keep Bale. Might have to load up on defence then.

    Hi guys

What would you do with this team? 1FT, 0.9m in the bank:

    Mignolet
    Caulker, Evans, Vermaelen
    Siggi, Valencia, Walcott
    Rooney(vc), RVP(c)

    Subs: Vorm

Not Playing: Cahill, Williamson, Dempsey, Bale, PCisse

    1) Bale out, Sessegnon in (and try to get some spurs coverage in for GW36)
    2) Cahill out, Richards/Lescott/McCauley in (and try to get some chelsea coverage in for GW36)
    3) Something else / no transfer

    cheers!

cheers. I would lose 0.8 on Bale and 0.6 on Dempsey as i've had them a while. I'm not overly concerned about not getting Bale back for 36 though, dont think he's an essential in current form. cheers

Assuming he plays both games Chelsea should get a clean sheet against QPR and possibly against Newcastle. Bale is off form completely.

    ok DGW dilemma no 234

Get Pienaar and bench one of Sess (BOL), Siggy (WOL) or RvP (sto)

    or

keep and bench McClean but have 1 less DGWer but one extra problem to sort out in GW37
