With Sunderland’s upcoming fixtures affording Fantasy managers a viable route into the conundrum that is Gameweek 34 and double Gameweek 36, Stephane Sessegnon looks primed for investment. The top scoring Fantasy Premier League (FPL) player for Martin O’Neill’s side, Sessegnon has a couple of home games against two of the bottom five and, with the Black Cats performances at the Stadium of Light continuing to impress, the Benin international could be set to profit once again.

Many managers’ transfer plans now turn to the difficult weekend ahead and, with eight sides facing blanks, a tactical alternative is to focus on those with strong fixtures over both Gameweek 34 and 36. One of only three sides with favourable home fixtures in each of those Gameweeks – along with Swansea and West Brom – O’Neill’s outfit face an out-of-sorts Wolves on Saturday before playing host to Bolton in a fortnight’s time. Sandwiched in between is a trip to Villa – a clash that won’t deter Sessegnon’s potential suitors.

Despite their recent hammering at Everton, a look at Sunderland’s contrasting home/away form since the sacking of Steve Bruce indicates just how strong a force the Black Cats are in front of their own fans. While they have picked up 11 points from 10 ten games on the road, the Wearsiders have accrued 20 points from nine home fixtures under O’Neill. Six wins, a couple of draws and a single loss are indicative of their reliable home displays, with Arsenal the only side to escape with the three points.

With two goals, three assists and five bonus points over his eight home appearances under O’Neill, Sessegnon has returned a total of 48 points at the Stadium of Light – an average of six points per home game since Bruce’s dismissal. Indeed, in spite of Sunderland’s poor away form, Sessegnon has remained consistent on the road – a couple of goals, three assists and four bonus points is almost identical to his home returns and will instill plenty confidence ahead of the Gameweek 35 trip to Villa Park.

While a trip to Fulham and home clash with United look tricky, Sessegnon’s short-term fixtures promote him highly in the updated Watchlist rankings and, with Nicklas Bendtner a doubt due to a back injury, he may well be afforded the opportunity to lead the line once again, as O’Neill’s side look to bounce back from the Goodison mauling and finish the season on a high.

I am thinking along the same lines and benching Siggy, but at home to Wolves it seems wrong.

But if you swap Vorm, Turner and Simpson for Mingolet, Caulker and Santon, I will have the same team

Can then do Sess to Moses in 37 and Clint to Lampard/Mata in 38

Have the armband on Sess for the weekend but am filling the togs thinking of Van P and what he might do to that defence. Need some differential to make up a 27 point gap, is this the wrong time to do it? If I am in touch for the DGW it's probably better do 3 subs for a four point hit then, right?

Haha, after just one week I abandoned my “AWESOME” long’plan for GW 36.

But I’m still planning to get or keep this DGW players:

        1) 11 GW34 players with Sessegnon, giving me 6 DGWers with no hits.

not worth it then for sure.. do you think aguero is worth it? considering it will cost me maybe baines and adebayor in gw36 and i will play vermalen and aguero instead

        ok DGW dilemma no 234

Get Pienaar and bench one of Sess (BOL), Siggy (WOL) or RvP (sto)

        or

keep and bench McClean but have 1 less DGWer but one extra problem to sort out in GW37 (along with Sess and Siggy)

It's not a 4 point hit, only 2. If you field 9 players you get 18 points assuming they all play over 60 mins. If you field 10 players you get an extra 2 points so the hit is only 2 points, not 4.

Are you sitting in a confined space? How has your knee not jerked Walcott in already?! Are you waiting for him to score a brace before he shows signs of form??

You'e probably missed that boat now so go for Sess. Both he and McClean could easily be in the points following the Wolves game.

Really don't get all the posts about "which DGW players are best?", and "are my planned transfers ok?"!! Just get your best 11 out this GW (preferably without a hit) and bank the points. There's a ton of games between now and GW36, more injuries, suspensions and new stars will shine brightly upsetting the best laid plans.

I guaranteeeee your plans will change!! 🙂

actually there is 2 GWs between now and DGW

Not entirely sure that qualifies as a ton

FA Cup games etc. A few are bound to get injured.

Yeah, although getting your best for this week with one eye on the DGW when making your transfers is fair.

+1, worth selling Senderos to anyone for practically a hit? It's a FT but rival will have 2FT meaning -8 total over the next 2 GWs.

Not for a hit. I did Kelly to Turner with my freebie.

I again refer to Sir Paulos's article on DGWs. I have 9 nxt week and 9 will play two games in 36 and
              No hits #sorted.
