Nicklas Bendtner is back for Sunderland’s home game with Wolves this weekend. Kieran Gibbs and Gervinho are still doubts for Arsenal, Yaya Toure remains a “maybe” for City, while Alex McLeish has injury concerns ahead of Villa’s trip to Old Trafford:

Nicklas Bendtner is available for Sunderland ahead of this weekend’s home game against Wolves. The big Dane is set to return alongside Stephane Sessegnon up front and, with four goals and an assist in his last six appearances, should be afforded further chance for Fantasy returns against the out-of-sorts midlanders. John O’Shea and Fraizer Campbell are also in with a shout of a comeback, while Lee Cattermole is a doubt, according to Martin O’Neill.

Yaya Toure could be set to return for City at Norwich tomorrow lunchtime. Having limped out of last Sunday’s loss at Arsenal, Toure was sidelined for the midweek win over West Brom but Roberto Mancini has revealed the Ivorian “maybe” has a chance to feature at Carrow Road, as City look to close the gap at the top to two points.

Roy Hodgson received some positive injury news this morning, after Chris Brunt and Liam Ridgewell were both passed fit to face Blackburn. The pair had missed the midweek trip to Old Trafford due to knee problems but have recovered in time for tomorrow afternoon. Jerome Thomas and Martin Fulop remain doubts, though the duo have returned to training, while Gabriel Tamas is still unavailable.

Marc Tierney has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign after undergoing a groin op. The left-back had played every minute of the season until Gameweek 17 before succumbing to the problem and, after a few months out, returned to the Norwich reserves last week only to break down once again. The Canaries tweeted earlier today that they hope to have him back for pre-season – Adam Drury seems the likely candidate to continue in the back-four as a result of Tierney’s absence. Daniel Ayala has also been ruled out of the final five fixtures by Paul Lambert, who also revealed Zak Whitbread is out of tomorrow’s clash with City due to a calf injury.

Danny Guthrie and Cheick Tiote are both on course for a return to action in the Gameweek 34 home clash with Stoke. Guthrie has missed the last two with a calf injury, while Tiote was subbed off at half time in the win at Swansea last Friday but, with Newcastle facing a blank Gameweek this weekend, the midfield pair are afforded extra time to recover as Alan Pardew’s side look to pick up their sixth win in a row against the Potters.

Paul Scholes is set to return for United this Sunday as the league leaders take on Villa. The midfielder was rested for the 1-0 defeat at Wigan and, while Sir Alex Ferguson maintains he has no regrets over resting him, United’s loss was their first since Scholes returned from retirement in Gameweek 21 in a run that had previously seen then drop just two points in twelve games.

Kieran Gibbs is a doubt for Arsenal’s home game with Wigan on Monday evening, according to Arsene Wenger. The left-back’s availability is rated as “50-50” by his manager, while Gervinho is rated as “80-20” – Andre Santos and Yossi Benayoun look likely to continue in the pair’s absence. Wenger also revealed Abou Diaby will miss out yet again, though the midfielder will return to full training next week.

Steve Kean is optimistic that Bradley Orr and Martin Olsson will be available for this weekend’s trip to West Brom. The Blackburn defenders both picked up knocks in Tuesday’s loss to Liverpool but the Rovers boss revealed they should both be in the frame for the crucial Baggies clash.

Scott Parker is back for Spurs’ FA Cup Semi-Final against Chelsea this weekend. The midfielder missed out in the home defeat to Norwich due to tight hamstrings but is fit and available, according to Harry Redknapp. Younes Kaboul is ruled out with the knee problem that forced him off before half-time in the Canaries match, while Niko Krancjar is also out after picking up a knee problem in training. The Spurs boss also revealed there are “one or two knocks” to consider ahead of Sunday’s Wembley showdown.

Ashley Cole is back for Chelsea for the derby with Spurs. In this afternoon’s press conference, Roberto Di Matteo revealed the left-back is fit once again, though his recent replacement, Ryan Bertrand, is a doubt due to a calf problem. Oriol Romeu has picked up an illness and is unlikely to feature.

Alex McLeish could be without Chris Herd and Stephen Warnock for Sunday’s trip to United. The pair are currently doubts, with head and ankle problems respectively. While Marc Albrighton may miss out once more, Fabian Delph could make a surprise return. The midfielder was expected to be ruled out for the season after picking up an ankle injury during a loan spell at former club Leeds but has recovered far quicker than anticipated and could feature from the bench at Old Trafford. Ciaran Clark could also return to bolster the midfield ranks – the 4.5 priced FPL defender has mainly been played in the middle by McLeish and could be a real differential punt in Villa’s double Gameweek 35 if he proves his fitness this weekend.

Bale > Sess looking a smarter move than Bale > Silva? Am torn between them but leaning towards Sess as he's a better option for GW36

Vorm, Evans, Rafael, Zabaleta, Tierney, Enrique, Siggy, Valencia, Bale, Walcott, Ferguson, RvP, Suarez, Torres

Anyone have any ideas for this week? Used my FT bringing in siggy for Ryo (Bolton)

Do I take an 8/12 points hit to get an 11 out? I think I only have 8 players and not sure if Zabaleta will play.

I like Yakubu, Hoilett, Sessegnon and maybe Sagna or Vermaelen, Kompany or Lescott?

Any help appreciated – would like Jelavic/Mata/Friedal/Bale/Adebayor for the DGW.

What would you suggest to get me out of the hole? I am currently 10 points clear at the top of my mini league

The 2nd placed team will put out this:

        Lescott Vermy Bridge

Ive seen alot of love for BAE for the double but not for Walker. Is anyone thinking Walker is a better option (regardles of price) other than me?

I actually had BAE for the last double so I know he can score well, I just have a feeling Walker will be the one who outscores thi DGW.

I like Kaboul but with the FA cup games lurking round the corner IMO Kaboul is the most likely to be rotated out of the three (BAE/Walker/Kaboul). And yes I know hes started every game when available and is guaranteed his spot BUT this is a big reason he could be rested as he is essential for the FA cup. Spurs have more thn able replacements in King/Gallas/Dawson to be able to rest him without weakening their squad, whereas they don't have the same options at RB & LB.

Also I have Cech in goal but if not Friedel is a great choice.

        +1

Bale dirfts into the centre leaving space for BAE to run into. Lennon (if he's playing) hugs the touchline more.

At best Walker will equal BAE, but BAE offers a far greater attacking threat.

BAE is continuing to perform well, continuing to produce more key passes and cross, even shots on goal. Walker is pacier which can be distracting to the talents of the more productive BAE.

Thanks for that reasoning. My theory about Walker was all down to just watchin Spurs matches but as you pointed out, his pace (based on your stats) is a mask to what his actual peformances are like compared to BAE.

        Benoit it is then 🙂

    My current DGW team

requires an 8 point hit, buts sets me up nicely for GW37 as well

    Freidel (BLA, bol)

Huth (ARS, EVE) Baines, (FUL, sto) Santon (wig, che)

Sess (BOL), Siggy (WOL), Bale (BLA, bol) Dempsey (eve, liv)

RvP (sto), Cisse (wig, che) Ade (BLA, bol)

Mingolet (BOL), McClean (BOL), Caulker (WOL) Verm (sto)

Means I can dump Sess and Siggy for Theo and Moses/Maloney in GW37

          This is a bit hellish.

I just got into the FFS reserve league top 45 which is one of my main foci as I want to be in the FFS leagues next year. Consequently, I can't afford to lose a single week.

Looking at all the games ahead I have real tough opponents with hardly a difference in teams so it'll be all about next week dgw, transfers, and captains.

Going through my 5 fixture-less fantasy assets - Bale, Cisse, Dempsey, BAE, Begovich - to see if I can discard one of them for a -4pts, completing my 11.

Since several must be, like me, ripping their gray-turning hairs out, I thought I'd share.

I have already decided to keep Bale and Cisse (see previous article).

    Next defenders.
BAE. Easy. Not a good idea to take a hit for a defender change. Especially not with the fixtures he's got.

Begovich is no sense, since I have Vorm. So that only leaves me with Dempsey.

    Stay tuned.

The most interesting alternative for Dempsey is Walcott

      Their head to head reads:

      34: none - WIG
      35: WIG - CHE
      36: eve/liv - sto
      37: SUN - NOR
      38: tot - wba

Walcott might be interesting this week, but in both 35 and 36 he is a way more interesting selection imo.

      Keep.

I'm going with only 10 this GW

Got 50 points to catch up in my mini league, I have 8 players different to him but am wondering whether I need to take a punt on (c) this week? I would assume he'll captain RVP or Rooney so I'm thinking of going out there and going with Bendy? Wolves have been so bad and Bendy and Sess seem to have a good understanding when played together.

    Mignolet

    Skrtel - Kaboul - Williamson

Sessegnon - Bale - Walcott - Ben Arfa - Sigurdsson

    Adebayor - RVP

    Pogrebnyak. Dempsey.
Pog looks set to be back for gw 35 WIG (on physio room he is listed as 1 week away).

Will Pog furthest forward affect Dempsey's chances?
Dempsey banished his poor away form reputation... but it was only Bolton....eve/liv will be different.

I am toying with Bale-Silva this week and then Silva or Walcott - Demps for gw 35.

    Maybe I should just stick?

With Wigan's form on the upswing(?) just trying to gauge whether Clint will continue to score well, with seemingly more difficult away games..

Tbh I think Dempsey is more of a threat off the left flank, he can just float in, and find space. Against Chelsea, he was isolated and it was very hard for him to really get into the game.

It's really tempting to plan to bring him in .
For my set up ,it would involve a -4 to work Silva in and out, then Dempsey in.

Or just forget it and hold onto Bale and Walcott because either of those two will do well enough over the remaining games that sacrificing them doesn't justify the extra hit...sitting on the fence at the moment.

Not really. The observation that RVP has more points this season has nothing to do with form.

        Last 5 GW - RVP 26 vs Rooney 24
        Last 10 GW - RVP 74 vs Rooney 70

Take out the penalty from Wednesday and Rooney is ahead.

Fairly marginal although Rooney's ICT index is a lot higher than RVP over the last 6 GW.

The clincher for me is the opposition. Wigan have proved very resilient over the last few weeks while Villa look far easier to break down.

For the respective team match stats, both would be overwhelming favourites to win (villa won 1 in 32 matchs - Wigan won 1 in 13)

Would like to get Kompany in so I get an 11 out, but do I spend a wedge of the 3.5 on getting Kelly out, leaving BAE in for the more attractive double, or shift out BAE and retain some of the cashola so I have some leeway in terms of getting other players in for the approaching DGW’s?

    Thoughts?

Plan it out - do you need that cash elsewhere? If not then ditch Kelly.

        Rest of the team is:

        Walcott/Bale/Valencia/Siggy/McClean
        RVp/Rooney/Cisse

So taking Kelly out would leave me with 0.8 left. Not much to work with - hence why I'm asking for opinions as to whether taking Kelly out over BAE is worth it.

whats the rest of your team? do you have rvp & rooney? will you be getting rid of either for 36? if so do kelly to kompany, if/when you selling one of the big players that will free up cash?

    Transfer plans after GW 34:

    My team:
    Vorm (Bogdan)
    Verm Evans BAE Caulker McAuley
    Dempsey Walcott Sess McClean Valencia
    Rooney RVP Cisse

What do you think about these Possible Plans? (2FT, 1.9mill in bank)
    A) Verm -> Simpson, Sess-> Bale
    B) Verm -> G.Cahill , Sess -> Bale

Then might do Rooney -> Ade for GW36.

thinking about giving it to Larrson but Rooney's the less riskier option and best for me considering rival doesn't have him.

Also what's full form of ML?

tell me if I am insane - thinking of Agbonlawhore for Cisse for the next two GWs - 3 games versus 1.

I will get Papa back with my WC in DGW 36. Need to do something to to try and make a dent in ML leader's lead. Surely he is due a goal or an assist soon?

It could work, however, there was a scout article yesterday which showed over the last 4 weeks, Villa are among the teams to have taken least shots on goal. Paired with the fact that Agbon isn't clinical enough, I'd stick with Cisse.

nobody has any faith in The Whore outscoring Papa in 3 games versus one? I know it is a super long shot, but just have feeling he is due - if just person agrees I will pull the trigger!!

I suppose if you're really far behind your league leader then this is the type of gamble you're gonna have to take. It could work out and it will be sweet if it does, but I highly doubt it.
