This Gameweek has proven to be a big headache for the Scout Committee team, and with a limited pool of talent to choose from, we’ve had to dig deep to fish out three worthy “Differential” selections for you. We’ve ended up with an Austrian, a Spaniard and a Serb. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before…

Andreas Weimann

Aston Villa have arguably the toughest fixture of any of the teams playing this weekend with a trip to Old Trafford on the agenda but we’re thinking ahead here, boxing clever. While returns are likely to be limited on Sunday afternoon, Weimann should be considered as a worthy option – Villa’s double Gameweek 35 means they play three times when every other team plays just once or twice, introducing an interesting strategy for navigating the next three Gameweeks. The paradox of fielding a full XI this week is that you end up with less players with a double Gameweek 36, but by using players from Bolton and Aston Villa, you can boost the number of matches in Gameweek 35 and gain an extra fixture without taking a points hit.

Obviously this strategy only comes good if Weimann plays every game and in that respect, it’s a risky choice. All the signs stack up in the Austrian’s favour however; he managed his first 90 minute run out last time out and Alex Mcleish has been raving about him in the press following his wonder goal against Stoke. Villa look all but safe from relegation and have little left to play for and, considering his main rival in the side – Emile Heskey – is unlikely to earn a new contract in the summer, you’d have to bet on the youngster getting his chance over the remaining games.

Fixtures and rotation risks aside, Weimann looks a real prospect. That’s two goals in the last five Gameweeks now, which is already more than Heskey has managed all season. Priced at 5.0 he can fit any budget, and with less than 1000 owners at the time of writing, he is currently a proud member of the 0.0% club. With United likely to be jittery following the Wigan defeat, the young Austrian’s fearless approach may just trouble them.

Aleksandar Kolarov

While Weimann is a pick that could come good once the Gameweek has passed, Aleksandar Kolarov is the opposite – a potential one-hit wonder who could possibly pay off big this weekend for those willing to take the punt. The Serbian is notorious around these parts for letting us down when we throw his name into the ring, so this one comes with a health warning. Even so, if Roberto Mancini chooses to rotate Gael Clichy and hand Kolarov an outing at Carrow Road, the formbook says he’ll make an impact.

Kolarov has notched a goal and three assists in his last two league starts – admittedly they were home matches but, in a Gameweek where clean sheets could be a scarcity, Kolarov has attacking potential that few defenders can rival based on form over recent outings. With just 0.8% ownership, if you take temporary membership to the Kolorov fan club (Mark is still the chairman, secretary and treasurer) then it could pay dividends at a time when gambles could be the order of the day.

Mikel Arteta

While Theo Walcott hoovers up transfers, his Spanish team-mate has quietly and efficiently blinked on the radar of late thanks to some outstanding home form. Two goals in his last two Emirates encounters, with maximum bonus thrown in, bodes well for Arteta. He has also amassed his most impressive performances stats over the past four Gameweeks – our members can dip and see for themselves how he compares to the field right now. In a nutshell, then, Arteta is in his best form of the season, just in time for luckless Wigan to arrive in his backyard.

The smart money will be on Robin Van Persie and Theo Walcott to help themselves to further attacking returns but playmaker Arteta, with just 4.8% ownership, looks an ideal option for those seeking something a little different, with form to back it up.

Hence, after looking at the midweek games,

i have brought in and captained Luis Nani.

Also just a word of warning from a Gooner, Wigan didn't beat United for nothing. Or Liverpool, or draw with Chelsea and deserve to beat them in the return game... the list goes on. They play an unusual and compact wingback formation and have finally got it working. I wouldn't expect repeats of the 4-0 win we had earlier in the season. A win by any means would delight me. Seriously considering Rooney (C) (home form) or bringing in Sess (C).

I actually think their unusual wingback formation won't work against Arsenal, which will work in Walcott's favor. They tend to be solid through the central midfield area and allow their wingbacks to roam freely. It's going to be a clash of the mids again.

Sir Alex Song is going to be your key player this game.

Agreed on how Wigan play - they hold the centre, passing it around neatly, using wingbacks as the attacking outlet. Yep it will be an intense midfield battle and Song will be key. On paper the formations could utterly cancel each other out. Both Arsenal and Wigan will have 5 in midfield, there'll be little space to work with, and if play inevitably switches to the flanks it becomes a battle between our fullbacks and their wingbacks. To break them down we might need to play both Santos and Sagna but that will open space behind because they're so attacking.
It's going to be all about getting a free man and overloading part of the pitch... Song could well Brom needed there.

Hi all i currently have this starting 9. I would have to take a hit to bring it up to 10 or 11.

Would it be worth doing Suarez > Aguero/Tevez/Weimann/Graham/Yak???? Thoughts would be appreciated.

ok folks, currently have RvP set as captain. As defending a 36 point lead. I am wondering whether to switch to the pig. Not sure who rival will go for, he could go for anyone of Sess, RvP or Rooney, though I suspect he will go RvP.

Im in almost the exact position.....my lead is 38pts.

My Rival Picked Cisse as (c) last week and Valencia the week before. Therefore I am assuming that he did this to get a differential on me.

Check out who he picked last week and that night tell you somthing about who he is going to pick as (c) this week.

In my case I think he for sure will pick Rooney.

Question for you....If you knew your rival was going to pick Rooney, would you match him?

Pig was a bad choice last week compared to RVP.
Wigan form though may challenge people to go for him again over RVP.
If he's played safe up to now he will go RVP and look to the DGW to catch you. If not, I think Sess could be in with a shout. Sun form shit though so likely Roon.
Betting order - RVP, Roon, Sess.

          ?!!!!!
I'm in a big lead so my advice is do what I do....fu*k what your opposition may do and stick to the tactics that got you to first place so far!
I went Cisse last week and my 2nd place went rvp and 3rd went roonpig.
Less than 10 points between us with 2nd guy on 77, me on 74 and the other on 67 from memory.

      Rvp is always a good option--> a 3-4-3 formation will 90% concede
Sess is also gr8--->Wolves simply will concede no doubt abt it
Rooney is a big gamble since Villa will "try to get out of this game with the least damages"-->They will go all out defense
Conclusion: sess and rvp are the best choices 😀 i'd go for rvp if i had him

      RVP, Rooney

with Sorensen, Dempsey, Cisse, Kelly and Shotton all out.

          Guys need some info/advice
Which is the best option for a Tottenham defender GW 35?
Kaboul is injured(dunno till when since he's in france), and i wanna get rid of Enrique since he's losing his value
          So what's the best pick?
          Ekotto?Walker?
