In this latest article for members, we focus on the midfield area for the problematic Gameweek 34. With several contenders vying for our attention and cherished free transfer, we examine the recent form of four of the top attractions on offer – Stephane Sessegnon, James McClean, Theo Walcott and Gylfi Sigurdsson – using our own ICT Fantasy Index and the data from Opta.

Is anyone around here playing You Know the Score?
If so, is there any way to check your rank for a particular gameweek? All I can see is a monthly and general ranking.Open Controls -
Kelly to Turner this week?
1 FT and 1.4 in the bank.
Vorm
Kompany, Evans, Sagna
Walcott, Valencia, McClean, Moses
RVP(C), Rooney
Sorensen, Kelly, Bale, Simpson, SuarezOpen Controls-
Turner not nailed on was the talk here earlier

Evening all.
Obviously been a lot of talk about the blanks this game week, and how many dgw has everyone got for 36 but...
What about 35?
Not heard much talk about people throwing in any Bolton of villa players?!
Is no or bothering....????Open Controls -
Anyone think Cisse may get rested with Leon Best fit again!? 😉

Has anyone ever tested out different FPL strategies in parallel? I’m thinking along the lines of 3 teams which start with the same squad but then make transfers through the season based on different strategies. One could jump on every bandwagon, ignoring fixtures. Another could choose players based on teams with good fixtures. Maybe a third that’s only interested in maximising its team value.
Has this be done before? Any other strategies worth looking at?Open Controls-
I was wondering this earlier - another strategy could be to base it purely on ICT scores and ignore real life see if that stats lie or not.
Open Controls -
Interesting thought actually, but god knows it takes too much of my time looking after 1 team, 3 would be the end of my career/relationship/health and more!
Open Controls-
But think what it could do for your FPL ranking!

Doesn't work that well. Unless you are really disciplined I guess. "Mrs China Mag" had a team that was meant to be for punts, that I wouldn't have the balls to pick. But that went out of the window when she started beating me, so I had to play serious with her team too as she had a better chance of winning! I'm only a few points behind her now, but we are going to go into tomorrow with 9 of the same players!! And somehow it was my team, not her team that ended up bringing in torres TWICE. Still not sure how that happened!
Open Controls-
Mr Mac has a team based on names she likes. I also use it to indulge in punts providing they have a suitable name for her selection. Unfortunately she doesn't like the name Van Persie, Bale, Dempsey, Rooney or Silva so it's gone less well than it could have.

For the next two GW’s Bale to who
a) silva
b) walcott
c) nasri
then gw 36 I will swap back to bale.Open Controls -
70 pts too much to make up over next 5 gameweeks i assume?
Open Controls -
DALE COOPER, from previous page... Jellyfish = Jelavic, lol.
I'll have Cisse so it'll be Rooney out for either Jellyfish or Adebayor, as things stand.Open Controls -
I want to take out either Bale or Dempsey this week (to allow me to field 10) can't decide what one? - want to take a punt on whoever I bring in to replace them with also, at the moment I'm thinking Dempsey out for Nasri - sound good?
I've 2 free trades so may as well use one, its also crossed my mind to flog Bale and bring VDV back in for the DGW instead of him, more of a differential! I'm 51pts clear in my mini league so feel happy to take a slight gamble.
anyone?Open Controls-
Would you be bringing them back in for the double? I's say transfer Bale, worse form and Dempsey has a better fixture in GW35.
Open Controls-
Possibly? depends how they play the game in-between the DGW, I'm more likely to bring Bale back in as I want 3 spuds for the double. I think your right about Bales form also, ..so he'll be out.
Thanks.Open Controls

The fa cup semis should make it easier in terms of planning the gw36 players. THe reason I say this is the 2 gw36 fixture is the midweek before the final and rotation will definitely come into play.
Open Controls-
it could force your hand in GW 35 moves as well
injuries, form, red/yellow cardsOpen Controls

The top 5 DGW36 players are.........???????
Open Controls-
Cisse for one.
Open Controls-
how about Cisse Ade VDV/Mata Kaboul and Torres?

Adebayor for two.

Adebayor is crap, and if Spurs make it through to the final, could be rotated.Open Controls-
But it's BLA and bol (!)
Open Controls-
He has let everyone down before when he's had good fixtures.
I might still pick him, but I wouldn't put him top 5 at the momentOpen Controls

He won't be rotated while we're chasing a top 4 spot.Open Controls-
He was rotated this week 😉
I still stick by the first part 🙂Open Controls

Maybe Bale, due to the 2 games after the DGW as well.
Open Controls -
I think the Cup Semi results will have a big bearing on the answer to this - but I'd agree with the cabbage that Cisse has to be in there - as he's immune to Cup Final rotation.
Open Controls -
Top 5 I would pick right now...
Cisse, Bale, Baines, Assou-Ekotto, Dempsey.Open Controls

Holt?
Yak?
Graham?
(can't afford aguero)
Highest votes I'm going with...Open Controls -
who to captain??!
rvp v rooney - arsenal are a team in form but i'd rate wigan as twice the team villa are at the moment. even liverpool created numerous chances against them. i think it will be a tight game.
also, rvp has played 180 mins since last sunday..rooney got a small "rest" during the week that could either dent his confidence or make him more eager to destroy a weak villa side...Open Controls-
Sess for me. My VC is RVP. So you should captain RVP.
Open Controls -
RVP is the safe option I guess. People are saying United will come out firing after the Wigan defeat, but they often respond to a setback by grinding out a couple of 1-0 wins.
Also, I don't know if anyone thinks the same, but after 2 really tough games against Chelsea and United, Wigan could tire, especially if Arsenal make them chase the ball for the majority of the game.Open Controls -
Valencia!
Open Controls

I absolutely despise "king" kenny, but I would love it , LOVE IT if liverpool beat everton tomorrow (sorry everton) and all but secure a european place for us.
Have you ever seen a mackem in milan?Open Controls -
Who shall I bring in for this week - Yakubu, Odemwingie or other? (no more expensive, please)
Open Controls -
-
Interesting that McClean and Sess are pretty much like for like over the last few GWs. Currently I have 9 GW34ers and was thinking about going for Sess, but given my rival has him, I am thinking about McClean as a differential, as the extra 2.5m will really come in hand with the DGW coming up - what do you reckon?
Open Controls-
Not a lot between them, but it's interesting that McClean seems to play better when Sess is in the side.
I have McClean, so will stick with him until at least GW37.Open Controls -
Deffo agree with this- I have McClean and haven't even thought about Sess. They are both attack minded and I reckon they'll score similarly. Some games McClean has stolen all of Sess' thunder, and I'm hoping this is the case vs. Wolves. Regardless, I bet they both return something vs Wolves
Open Controls
-
Regarding the tweet about Weimann on the home page, does it sound like he's nailed on for the rest of the season?
Open Controls-
Even if he is, why does it matter? Villa are one of the worst teams in the league currently...last year McLeish's Birmingham had the same number of points that Villa have at this stage. They can't score...McLeish's teams never can
Open Controls

Come on then guys.....hands up who else is going with Sess this week for the captaincy?
Open Controls-

That's what I did Do it and hold my hand, I'm scared 😉

You're back! Have you recovered from your self loathing after the last 2 GW's?
RVP for me.Open Controls-
Yeah I have recovered dude. Been keeping a low profile mainly due to work commitments. How dare work get in the way of FPL 😉
You ok man, playing it safe this week are we. Not at all worried about Wigan's form?Open Controls-
I'm fine buddy. Work has no right to get in the way of you and your FPL 🙂
Yeah just playing it safe and keeping things ticking over. Wigan are in great form but the Emirates is such a big pitch and I can see Arsenal stretching them at the back. While I see Moses and Maloney causing them some problems I don't see Caldwell in a back 3 keeping RVP quiet. 2 goals for RVP imo.Open Controls-
Hmm....food for thought indeed. I am winning my mini league by nearly 200 points so I may as well take a risk and get as high as I can in the overall standings.
You watch.....it'll be on RVP by 11:30 😉Open Controls

-
-
Had him as captain earlier today but bitched out and went RVP. Need some reassuring words and convincing to change it back. I mean Sess hasn't returned more than 1 goal in any game this season. Whereas RVP last time against Wigan got like a goal and 2 assists. Its tricky 🙁
Open Controls-
Since you are ranked 469,000th you may as well take the risk.
Open Controls-
Meh rank doesn't bother me too bad since its my first time really doing the FPL. Its my main ML that I'm chasing which matters more. Few of them are dead teams that captain RVP every week so could go wrong if I captain Sess over RVP
Open Controls
-
-
Stop talking you are swaying me towards your logic 😉
I just think Wigan are in form and Wolves are shambolic, that is the only basis for my choice. I know Sess isn't as prolific I just think that Wigan will be on a high after mid-week.Open Controls
-
-
-
Guys who to captain if I'm chasing a 60 pointer???
Open Controls -
Worth a 4 pt hit?
Bale -> McClean,
Pogrebnyak -> Yakubu (over Odem . . . always form over fixtures for me)
Ba - > Aguero
Feels like the right thing to doOpen Controls-
Getting rid of Bale are we?!?!? Personally I am keeping him, especially with his DGW.
Personally I like the later 2 transfers but I am guessing you need to get rid of Bale to fund the other transfers.Open Controls-
Everyone is going to regret selling Bale. I picked him up at the very beginning of the season as his displays were good but his returns were not. He soon kicked it on and began scoring. The same phenomenon has been happening lately, where he is playing well but not scoring in FPL. I am telling you, he is going to have a crazy DGW
Open Controls-
He's been unlucky over the last couple of GW's so I am confident it'll transfer into goals. I've had from the start so I am not about to change 😉

I know its only a tenner, and there's no point now, but is full membership worth the cash? only playing fpl 2 seasons and only discovered this site this year
Open Controls-
I would say yea, not only for the the articles but to support the site as well.
Open Controls-
support the site is as good a reason as any, full membership for me next season then
Open Controls

I hope you think so next season - we've already started work on a new members area, with emphasis on the stats and their presentation. We're hoping to have something a bit more "special" with more data available for those who like to tinker, compare players and analyse data with far more "toys" we can add to articles.
Open Controls -
Depends really, I'm not which has nothing to do with money, I follow football closely, so have a good idea whats going on. For others i'm sure all the stats are a great asset.
Open Controls

Hmm, my potential DGWers are:
Begovic, Simpson, Bale, Dempsey, Mata, Cisse, Ade
Lots of time for things to change...but who do you think is 'essential' that is missing?Open Controls-
Baines or a Spurs defender would be a good option, but I wouldn't say they're essential.

i have 9 players playing tomorrow. Do you people think its worth using my transfer to put in an extra player and even deduct 4 points to have 11 players or shall i bank the transfer for 2 transfers in gameweek 36...
My team
vorm
Jevans, caulker, sagna
valencia, mcclean, sigurdson
Rooney, RVP
Bench: bale, dempsey, kelly, simpson, cisse.
I am thinking to get rid of kelly for a sunderland defender as fulham have hard games in gw36..
also thinking to get rid of bale whos been on bad form for silva but dont know because bale has favourable fixtures to come up.. what do you people suggestOpen Controls -
can anyone help me decide?;
kelly to ridgewell or,
dempsey to sess (where i'd want to get dempsey back for gw35)Open Controls-

not really, i'm just trying to get an 11th player for this gameweek, money not much of a problem
