In this latest article for members, we focus on the midfield area for the problematic Gameweek 34. With several contenders vying for our attention and cherished free transfer, we examine the recent form of four of the top attractions on offer – Stephane Sessegnon, James McClean, Theo Walcott and Gylfi Sigurdsson – using our own ICT Fantasy Index and the data from Opta.

Is Valencia to Walcott this week a sideways move?
Open Controls-
-
Yes indeed it is. with both playing this week shouldn't you concentrate on transferring out someone who's not playing this gw?
Open Controls-
I can only afford it by selling Dempsey or Valencia. I really don't want to sell Dempsey as I won't be able to afford to get him back - I'd also be using another transfer to get him back. If I do Valencia to Walcott it would be for the rest of the season. I ask because I'm worried about going without Walcott this week.
Open Controls-
Will you really not be able to afford transferring Walcott right back to Dempsey next week? Isn't Walcott more expensive? I sold Dempsey for Sess this week and am bringing him back for Walcott next week.

I'm torn between playing 9 players for GW34 & 8 for GW36 or vice versa, it would pretty much mean losing Shotton for either Caulker or Turner to use up my FT to have 9 players for GW34 & then using my other 3 for GW36.
Any thoughts?Open Controls-
a good scenario would be if you have a player not playing in gw34, that you are not likely to chose come gw36

Just realized that I have 11 players playing at home this weekend !! 🙄
Might be a disaster.Open Controls -
Good evening everyone!
Ideas desperately needed!
My team for GW 34:
De Gea / Vorm
BAE / Enrique / Caulker / McAuley / Taiwo
Siggy / Sess / Walcott / Valencia / McClean
RvP / Rooney / Ade
I have 2 FT and 1.4 in the bank -> I have to do at least one transfer, so that I don't lose it.
Any ideas which players to bring in for GWs 35 and 36?
Thoughts highly appreciated. Thx for your time and comments.Open Controls-
De Gea -> Mignolet ?

Any yaya news? Need him to make my team up to 11

Anyone else bringing in 'the big dane' for the next 2 GWs?

Just made Sess my Captain (gulp). Hope he brings home the bacon
Open Controls -
Evening, gents!
Looking for differential as 40 points behind ML leader. He'll probably bring in Sess (who I have, too) but I have Bendtner so thinking of (c)Bendtner
Whadyareckon?Open Controls-
Uh oh!!
Open Controls -
Sess surely the better captain shout?
Open Controls-
That's probably what he'll think too.
But then...
Maybe that's exactly what he'll be expecting me to think....

I'm only playing 9 as it stands and was planning on saving a transfer. Don't want to transfer out HBA or Jelavic, which would only leave swapping a defender.
Not saving a transfer would mean a 4 point hit in GW36, and realistically it would be Baines who I would be transferring out.
So I'll stick with my 9 players and play the long game! Who's with me?Open Controls-
Mathematically saving a transfer this week gives us an extra Match(in total of GW 34 + 36) irrespective of the no. of players we can field in gw34. So its a good strategy.
But cant resist having that 1 more player for gw34 when you have a free transfer,so tough call.Open Controls-
I'm on 9 and saving mine to bring in 2 DGW for 35 and 36 with the 2 FTs. Prob Wheater and a Bolton striker, but waiting to see who is fit and healthy nearer the time. Any advice at this point?

A) Suarez >>Noclass Bendtner(one week punt?
B)Suarez & Valencia >>Aguero & Sess (4 pt hit)
Select one, both will give me a total of 10 players for gw34.
Not very keen on the bendy guy but the fact that its a hitless option and without having to get valencia out,it attracts me.
Opinions.Open Controls-
McClean is sufficient. Do A

What's everybody's overall rank target for this season?
Of course, my main aim is to win the MLs where money/bragging rights is concerned, which leaves me with 1 left to win; but if I win that, I'd like then go a step further and finish inside the top 100.
I guess luck can play it's part significantly when you're only talking 100 or so places, but I'm looking for a really good PB to go for next season and think anything inside the top 100 is just that.Open Controls -
My team is looking rather spelndid for this weekend. Fixtures just look so great! I hope this is the gameweek where I catch my rival. Will concentrate on the DGW after. I have 4 at the moment. Will probably take a couple of 4 pt hits along the way in order to have 8 DGW players for gw 36.
Vorm
Richards Vermaelen Turner Evans
Valencia Sessegnon McClean Siggurdson
RvP(c) Rooney
Howard Simpson Ba Bale
Lets go!Open Controls-
Hello Mr Goodman...

Why don't you captain Sessegnon?Open Controls
-
-
My options this week are to put out 9 GW players (which I feel comfortable doing), or doing Bale and McClean. This will mean I only have 7 DGW for GW36 and would effectively cost me 4 points (as if I save my transfer this week, it will save me a hit in GW36). My rival does not have Bale, so could be a handy differential come GW36 (and will give me another GW36) - so tempted to stick........or should I twist?
Open Controls-
i imagine he'll put bale in that week? but either way u'll definitely want bale that week so i say stick

Lads, yak or aguero for the next 2 weeks
Open Controls-
I would say Aguero but the away form seems to be a real problem. He will no doubt score against Wolves cos they suck balls but i'm not sure about the returns against Norwich 2moro.
Yak is a hit or a miss but he is cheap, on pens (usually works out) and they need wins so he is worth a shot.Open Controls-
Yeah away form is what's stopping me, + ive vorm in goals this week so it's kinda shitty
they will probably both get 2 nowOpen Controls

Hasn't scored a brace this season, how many games does he need to due so?
Open Controls
-
-
A great big no for me, very poor returns and may not even start both games Liverpool won their first pl game for yonks without him, with 10 men and away from home. Plus I can't stand the little prick1
Open Controls-
he is a little prick but there's no doubting his class.. im not sure how many times he's hit the post this year, but i think it's 13, every game he looks like scoring and should have a lot more pts this year, hes way below expectation
Open Controls-
Class plaers tend to put the majority of their strikes inside the post and past the keeper. To me that stat is not a plus for an pl striker. Compare Dempseys ability to finish for example. Plus Suarez even against Cardiff refused to take a penalty.

At what time did he score the goals? Were they all 3 o clock kick offs? Saturdays or Sundays?

Will be interesting to see what players are worth having come GW38. Could be so many meaningless fixtures by then. Saying that the relegation battle could still be on and the CL qualification. maybe even the title!
TBC on GW38 thenOpen Controls -
One of the biggest mistakes (IMO) someone can make in FPL... think someone is due a goal... or due a good score. If they'd scored in every game for the last 10 you could say they were due to have a blank - but that's not the case.
I always prefer to be 2-3 GWs late, behind getting a player who picks up some form than own someone who isn't doing it FPL wise, yet keeping hold of him for weeks too long.
Something else I don't plan to do next season and that's to have a keeper + defender from the same team. I always like to play the cautious route and spread my risks - hence why I've been benching 1 of Krul or Simpson for most games instead of playing them both.
You can't say you have to play a certain way to do well either. I've been cautious all season and taken hardly any gambles, yet still just outside the top 250.
That's my latest thoughts 🙂Open Controls-
Yup, Ba is a prime example for me.
Open Controls -
Agree with most of what you're saying. Why bother having Krul and Simpson though if you always bench one? Is it in case there is a better fixture for your other keeper so you bench Krul and play Simpson in that situation?
Open Controls-
That's a good question mate!
And I think it's probs because I planned to play them both - and had a change of heart. I've been playing Mignolet or Simpson 1st sub.Open Controls
-
-
i avoided ba until he came home from acon, and got him in, kept giving him one more chance, only shipping him out this week, that wasted 3rd striker spot has cost me dearly i think, conclusion for next year, be a bit more ruthless!
Open Controls-
Well I did keep Ba about 3 GWs but then switched to Cisse.
I'm taking form into account A LOT more next season. I was looking too hard at the fixtures - next season it's both together.Open Controls
-

Very quiet on here for a Friday
Open Controls -
Is it wrong to put Begovic Bale Suarez & Shotten in my starting Xl and Vorm Walcott Valencia & Kompany coming in on the auto-sub?
Pretty childish????Open Controls-
I'm doing it!
Bench of Vorm, Rooney, Valencia, and Walcott.
Starting formation 5 - 3 - 2Open Controls-
Haha brilliant.
So over the weekend you will be saying i've got so many points with Vorm, Rooney, Valencia, and Walcott to come off my bench 🙂Open Controls-
Nah, won't be posting on here or anything, jsut hoping it might throw my rival off, even if it's only briefly!

I wouldn't say Childish describes it, to be fair.
It's just a bit of fun. It can make you feel better having a lower score, knowing the 4 players will come in and boost your rankings - it could also make your mates think they have you beat... before they realise.
I might do it, just because it's one of the few times we can.Open Controls

Who sounds like the best captain choice this week out of McClean and Vermaelen? I'm not interested in Rooney and RVP
Open Controls -
I've gone pilkington to larsson, just have a sneaky feeling about him this weekend. Got 10 outfield players but not getting rid of krul or bogdan.
Open Controls -
Sess or Walcott?
Open Controls-
Sess IMO. Wigan quality.
