The Dugout Discussion opens for the concluding fixture of Gameweek 34, which sees 17th placed Wigan Athletic travel down the 3rd placed Arsenal. The team news for the game is in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Arsenal XI: Szczesny, Sagna, Djourou, Vermaelen, Andre Santos, Song, Arteta, Walcott, Rosicky, Benayoun, van Persie.

Wigan XI: Al Habsi, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Figueroa, Boyce, McCarthy, McArthur, Beausejour, Moses, Di Santo, Gomez.

A single change from the side that brushed Wolves aside for the Gunners, as Tomas Rosicky comes in for Aaron Ramsey in midfield.

Despite condemning Manchester United to only their fourth defeat of the season, Shaun Maloney isn’t in the visitors squad. Jordi Gomez replaces the Malaysian born Scot.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and can be accessed right here.

Think I'm not going to bother with getting Aguero or Tevez in and just do Moses to Pienaar as planned, opinions?

I suppose the s$€t refereeing is due to "foreigners" as well?
      What a load of crap!!

There are too many commentators biased against foreign players/teams as it is.
My favourite anti comment is when day an Italian team wins with a well organised 1-0 it's negative, catennacio, anti football tactics, but when an English team does the same it's heroic back to the wall defending!
      Hate that!!

REPOST (thanks Parm, Podge and Kostja for replies)

Guys, can I please ask for plenty of responses to this? Love this board despite the downsides 😛 .

    GW35 (Bank: 1 FT and £1.1m)
    Krul
    Kompany Caulker Evans
    Dempsey(c) Bale Siggy Valencia
    Cisse Rooney VanPersie

    Subs: Mig, Verm, Sagna, Surman

I have got about a 100pt lead in my ML so I’m pretty comfortable now. It’s perhaps a risk but like many I’m contemplating one of Rooney/RVP > > > Aguero/Tevez. My nearest rivals all have Rooney whereas RVP is less popular (quite a few have Aguero in his place). Struggling to decide what to do this week.

My current thoughts are… save a transfer 😆 . Boring but I am a pretty conservative FPL player. Do you agree? Am I pussying out? Thanks in advance for replies.

Please think again, McClean plays against Villa in GW35.

Pienaar plays against Man United in GW35.

The week in GW36 after he plays against Fulham and Stoke.

McClean + 4 will not outscore Pienaar this weekend. Please bookmark this if you decide to you ahead with the hit but dont come on here moaning that you should not have taken the hit.

Hmm it's a difficult situation. Remember United's scoreline against Villa, a week after losing to Wigan. This could either be the moment that gives Arsenal a good kick up the behind or it could pretty much polish them off for the season. Will be keeping Siggy definitely. Valencia against an Everton side that could be missing Baines is a nice prospect too. McClean has a few beauties and Dempsey is still a man on blistering form. So really it comes back to Theo. Arsenal and Chelsea is always a game where they go at each other full throttle. A Chelsea side that are decimated by defensive injuries could leak goals. It is a very tough one though since City have such a beautiful fixture that weekend.

I'll have a slice of that action.

100 point lead so RvP, McClean, Walcott > Tevez, HBA, Demps.

Keeping McClean as bench fodder this week as no one else in ML owns him. He is being shipped to VdV for DGW

REPOST (Thanks to SuperSub, Jolones & JK for the replies)

    Recommend me two transfers?

    Vorm • Sorenson
    Vermaelen • Evans • Caulker • Turner • Simpson
    Valencia • Walcott • Bale • Sessegnon • Sigurdsson
    RVP • Rooney • Cisse

    Bank: £0.1m

Trying to boost my rank up at this stage, nothing to play for.

    Pondering between

    A) RVP ➡ Tevez (I can get RVP back GW37)
    B) Rooney ➡ Tevez
    C) Walcott ➡ Dempsey
    D) Valencia + Sessegnon ➡ Dempsey + HBA
    E) Sessegnon ➡ HBA

    Thanks all!

Yeh, he'll play alright but with the rotation at the back surely clean sheets will be a bit scarce. Could get some attacking points to make up for it though.

That's your choice. I'm happy with RVP as, apart from tonight, he's had chances (look at the City game). Now look at Arse's fixtures. Unless you have more tansfers than me you'll want to keep him.

was previously thinking of squeezing baines and adebayor in for dgw...however with aguero's form picking up and roonpig scoring a couple whilst off form, plans have changed.

Is this the best gw 36 team that i can muster without taking a hit? (will use 2fts to do mcclean+kompany>barfa+skrtel) bearing in mind i want to still have a decent team til the end of season
