The Dugout Discussion opens for the concluding fixture of Gameweek 34, which sees 17th placed Wigan Athletic travel down the 3rd placed Arsenal. The team news for the game is in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Arsenal XI: Szczesny, Sagna, Djourou, Vermaelen, Andre Santos, Song, Arteta, Walcott, Rosicky, Benayoun, van Persie.

Wigan XI: Al Habsi, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Figueroa, Boyce, McCarthy, McArthur, Beausejour, Moses, Di Santo, Gomez.

A single change from the side that brushed Wolves aside for the Gunners, as Tomas Rosicky comes in for Aaron Ramsey in midfield.

Despite condemning Manchester United to only their fourth defeat of the season, Shaun Maloney isn’t in the visitors squad. Jordi Gomez replaces the Malaysian born Scot.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and can be accessed right here.

I was supposed to get rid of Rooney before Gw36. Do maybe I will transfer him out in Gw 35 only and keep RVP ans he has good fixture in Gw 37,38

Miyaichi will certainly start the first, he may only come on as a sub in the second but he's on set pieces. Why hold him for this long if you're not going to take a punt? Plus Sunderland don't look interested at the moment

So who should be dropped from this midfield to get Dempsey and Ben Arfa?

    Valencia, McClean, Walcott, Sigurdsson, Bale

    RMT for this week please:

    Vorm (Bogdan)
Vermaelen | Jevans | Kompany (Caulker, Kilgallon)
Walcott | Dempsey | Valencia | Sessegnon (Sigurdsson)
    Aguero(C) | RVP(VC) | Tevez

Dont know what your reactions will be to me having both Tevez & Aguero. Lol.

And for DGW 36 I am going to use my wildcard and I’m planning the following transfers:

    Aguero/Tevez >>> Cisse/Adebayor
    Vermaelen >>> BAE
    Kompany >>> Baines
    Sessegnon >>> Bale

And i may also do Jevans >>> Terry. But undecided on that one.

    Look good?

    All advice appreciated 🙂

ok New Plan. If Ajay were here he'd laugh

Walcott to Dempsey and save my other Ft this week

    Next week

Rooney, Sess, and Kolarov to Ade/Jelavic, VdV and Baines (-4)

Leaves me with 7 DGWers. Woth shipping De Gea to keeper (Krul?) with my other FT and making it -8?

lol fair enough. Just can;t bring myself to part with the 2 highest scoring players in the game for a City striker when I want City to lose. I have a 50 point lead, no need to take a risk.

You think this is ok for DGW

        Mingolet

        Baines, Santon, Caulker

        VdV, Bale, Dempsey, Siggy

I am leading by 60 in one and chasing similar gap in other. So I will see how things are when update done and take it from there. I also have the PP cup last 16 to wrestle with!

I find myself unsure of what to do. 2FT, Rooney to Cisse and McClean to Dempsey gives me:

    Krul
    Verm, Evans, Kolarov
    Walcott, Dempsey, Valencia, Siggy
    RVP, Tevez(c), Cisse

    Vorm, Ryo, Shotton, Baines

Rooney has had luck firmly on his side, he got a phantom penalty, and he was lucky with a deflection for his second, have no problems or qualms removing him.

Van Persie is a little more difficult in fairness, but, if they can't beat Wigan at home, then I think there are better options in the run-in, who are more in-form, see Aguero/Tevez/Cisse.

Hmmmm I don't agree, I think despite the luck that Rooney got for his goals, he still would've got points regardless. I'll keep both but my main reason for doing so is saving transfers for double gameweek players that has completely stolen my focus.

Bolton need this double to get out of the basement.

AV aren't terrible defensively, but Sunderland have been offensively.

Even if miyachi gets an assist, he's still playing a double.

Sure, you can not guess that unless you go for it. From me, my parents wont mind if I go out with a white girl, a chinese girl or an asian girl. Infact my brother has an american GF and they have no problem. It is percieved by many, including some of my friends, that myself as an asian lad has to marry a asian girl and there is no other way about it.

However it is 2012, and attitudes within the asian community towards inter race relationships has become more liberal and welcoming.

Although I'm not Indian, I can relate to the situation being a 2nd generation chinese immigrant. I'm afraid you're right, they will almost definitely prefer it if their daughter was dating someone Indian.. but you should just demonstrate that you're willing to understand and embrace their culture and unless their the most uptight conservatives, they will surely warm to you and realise that its not so bad after all.

I remember when my sister started dating her 1st serious boyfriend. My dad was incensed. I remember saying to him 'just because a guys got yellow skin it doesn't mean he'd treat her right, which is surely the most important thing?'. Perhaps they'd want an Asian BF - but they definitely want a good bloke for/towards their daughter.

Would you do these transfers. Rooney and Moses to Cisse and Dempsey (-4)

It would leave my team as:

    Vorm(bol)
    Kompany(wol), Evans(EVE), Williamson(STO)
    Dempsey(WIG)(V), Valencia(EVE), Walcott(CHE), Sigurdsson(bol), Sessegnon(avl)
    RVP(CHE), Cisse(C)(STO)

That was a horrible result 🙠Credit to Wigan played amazingly again. what are peoples opinions on the caldwell and van persie thing? I can understand vpersies anger but i think they were both in the wrong, van persie did go to shake caldwells hand, but he kind of pulled it away, but still wanted to shake his hand properly and van persie seemed to be having none of it.

Nice. You totally played the game right when you brought in tevez two weeks ago. You can see many looking for one weeks glory with tevez. But you got him for his massive haul and you'll get him for wolves plus you can remove him quite easily for DGW player without a hit.
