The Dugout Discussion opens for the concluding fixture of Gameweek 34, which sees 17th placed Wigan Athletic travel down the 3rd placed Arsenal. The team news for the game is in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Arsenal XI: Szczesny, Sagna, Djourou, Vermaelen, Andre Santos, Song, Arteta, Walcott, Rosicky, Benayoun, van Persie.

Wigan XI: Al Habsi, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Figueroa, Boyce, McCarthy, McArthur, Beausejour, Moses, Di Santo, Gomez.

A single change from the side that brushed Wolves aside for the Gunners, as Tomas Rosicky comes in for Aaron Ramsey in midfield.

Despite condemning Manchester United to only their fourth defeat of the season, Shaun Maloney isn’t in the visitors squad. Jordi Gomez replaces the Malaysian born Scot.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and can be accessed right here.

Is Valencia & Yakubu -> BenArfa & Cisse overkill on Newcastle for 2 free transfers?

In order to get him in though, I need to make up 1.5 by selling one of the following players..

        -Baines
        -Verm
        -Valencia
        -Rooney
        -Dempsey

Ideally I wouldn't want to be selling anyone

    My front eight:
Valencia, Walcott, Yaya Toure, Sigurdsson, Surman
    RVP, Rooney, Suarez
    1m in bank
    Should I:
A - Sell Surman for Petrov - but who to bench? (Sigurdsson?)
B - Do nothing and save the transfer for big DGW
    C - do something else?

Who makes way for a city striker???

RVP was unlucky not to score al habsi made some brilliant saves, but i did think he was looking slightly flat/tired but then again so did alot of the arsenal team apart from verm who looked like a he could win the game on his own and easily have got a hat trick if his team mates had been more aware of his positioning.

So looking to bring in Tevez/Aguero this gw but its literally a coin toss between Rooney & RVP who makes way for one of them. I can see RVP raising his game against chelsea and think there will be a penalty involved, plus chelsea will be very tired at the back. Might have to be rooney that makes way but he's the more in form player...oh i dont know???

Depends if your gonna want a dgw forward for 36?

If you do (want an Ade / Cisse etc.) then I'd leave it.

If you don't and you defo want a city striker I'd ditch Roon. Just prefer Arsenal's fixtures over Uniteds.

As you have both Walcott and Valencia you'll still have attacking players so it's a coin toss really - your call.

Same dilemma for me, and I think I'm dumping Rooney for Aguero/Tevez.

same dilemma here, at the moment i'm going with rooney, by all accounts he was playing deep, got a penalty courtesy of a young dive, and has been replaced on the 64th and 73th min in the last two

      RVP - CHE(who have 2 barca games), stk,NOR,wba
      Rooney - EVE, mancity,SWA,sun

for me it has to be rooney

he has actually commented on this himself and says he hasnt been happy with his form lately, but for a player picking up the points he is at the moment and not even playing well its scary to think what he could do.....so its either a hat trick against everton or the old rooney frustration and a nasty red card!

Same here. I'm thinking if I bring Kun/Tevez then they need to get the armband. Then it will mean a 4pt hit to bring in Ade for gw 36 to cover a ML rival. Other option is to just play Kun/Tevez vs United and get Rooney back for gw 37(swans)

Walcott was so useless last night I'm even thinking Silva. But it seems CHels might have a depleted def though...Prob best to just not have a City player and not watch the game...

When you say that Rooney is the form striker, I assume you mean FPL points. That isn't necessarily an indication of real-life form and it doesn't tell you who will score more over the next few weeks!

If you're intent on making a move for Tevez, I'd say Rooney is the man to go.

I have Silva and Rooney so it doesn't make sense for me to make any transfers there.

Same scenario as LJL for me. I'm plannign to sell Walcott (his background stats are actually pretty rubbish), which means that I pretty much have to sell Rooney out of him and RVP.

    Morning.

Can someone tell me if this would work or not... when using your wildcard, start it early in the week and check out fiso and buy all the players that are likely to rise in price that evening. The following day sell them all for a 0.1 profit and buy all the players that are likely to rise that evening...

Potentially you could do this every day for a week and settle on your final team just before the deadline. If you got all your transfers in at the right time you could potentially increase your team value by around £1m +.

Obviously you are llikely to want to keep some of the players that are rising in price for your team, but in theory would this work?

    1. Scroobius Mac

Well you need them to rise by .2 to get a .1 profit don't forget.
But yeah in principle it works - only usually get about .4 value gained of players you don't keep though.

Not the following day but later in the week, remember a player must gain 0.2m for you to gain a 0.1m profit.. If used properly its effective but more effective earlier on in the season..

Why would you need a 0.2 price rise? I thought you got 50% of the price rise rounded up to the nearest 0.1. Therefore a 0.1 rise would result in you receiving all of it.

Do I get rid of Enrique or take a chance on him playing in DGW and part with someone else?

    Hello to all -

Fellow FFS'rs, whats the general feeling/consensus on Dempsey? Want to bring him in now for Sess and keep for DGW. Should Dempsey be a nailed on contender for the DGW considering the opposition?

    Any help/thoughts/advise much appreciated 🙂

Just on here to vent my anger to how shambolic Aaron Ramsey is. Not sure what has happened to this guy but he is costing us games. It is clear for all to see apart from the manager. Also Gervinho.. all he ever seems to do is run to the byline and 'attempt' a cross which rarely makes it to the box. Arsenal deserved to lose yesterday.

I remember the Ramsey love on here at the start of the season, when he did look a decent player. But you're right, he was a complete shambles last night... crowd were getting on this back as well.

I'm not sure 4 3 3 is really the formation for Arsenal. I feel its being forced upon the team to mimic a Barcelona style of football. I love Arsenal but they really need to change their philosophy.

You need a 5th defender for a start!

Caulker over Rangel, not sure about Wheater although I suppose he should get 4-6 points over the next 2 gameweeks with the danger of a goal or 2.

Also, I would say that Miyachi is a huge risk. I'd rather have Siggy.

Who to play out of Kelly (WIG), BAE (qpr) and Caulker (bol)?

Fixtures say Kelly, attacking swings it towards BAE and my gut says Caulker.

I was always planning to play Kelly but Wigan's form is impossible to ignore. QPR have been good at home recently and Spurs/Swansea are touch and go at the moment.

i really want both HBA and Cisse but sadly KrulSimpson wont allow me. at this point it's too late then to change Simpson>Hibbert. for a hit and losing a DGW player for a DGW, so i guess ill just stick with both of em. and not get HBA instead.

Dont really have a clear captain choice this week and already got a good team for the double.. so do i
    A) Rooney to Tevez/Aguero (c) GW 35
Mclean to Barfa GW 36 (Play Turner)
    B) Save Transfer GW 35
Kompany and Mclean to BAE and Barfa (Bench Turner)

Pullis set to recall Sorensen to give him game time before Euro 2012.

"Thomas has been a tremendous servant for this club and if there is anything we can do to help him then we have to consider it," Pulis revealed.

"After all, he is not just representing Denmark on the international stage, but also Stoke City."
