Mikel Arteta is out for the season with an ankle injury. Anderson and Paul Pogba wonโ€™t feature for United again this term, either. Yakubu and Junior Hoilett return to training for Blackburn, Harry Redknapp is sweating on the fitness of “four or five” players, while Brendan Rodgers hopes to give some of Swanseaโ€™s fringe players a run out before the campaign is over.

Mikel Arteta has been ruled out for the season with an ankle injury. Arsene Wenger revealed earlier today that the midfielder will not feature again after sustaining the problem early on in last Mondayโ€™s home defeat by Wigan, going on to say:

It is season over for him but he doesn’t need surgery, which is what we were scared of. So he will be out for six to eight weeks. It is an ankle problem but just a sprain.

The Gunners boss also revealed Abou Diaby will return to the squad, after taking part in a friendly on Wednesday evening. Francis Coquelin is back in full training after picking up a hamstring problem but will remain sidelined as he builds up his fitness.

Sir Alex Ferguson has ruled out both Anderson and Paul Pogba for the remainder of Unitedโ€™s campaign this morning. The former has failed to recover from a hamstring injury, while Pogba sustained an ankle injury in a reserve game earlier in the week and will miss his sideโ€™s title run-in.

Reports suggest Leighton Baines is expected to return to the Everton starting XI before the season is out. The left-back has been ruled out of this weekendโ€™s trip to United but according to the Mail, he will be back in time for the final game of the season against Newcastle. The club have only confirmed he will be missing for tomorrow, though with doubts still hanging over his availability for next week’s double Gameweek against Fulham and Stoke, many plans are currently up in the air.

Blackburn pair Yakubu and Junior Hoilett returned to training yesterday as the pair look set to win their fitness race ahead of the visit of Norwich. Both were subbed off in last weekโ€™s 3-0 defeat at Swansea and were doubts with knee and hamstring problems respectively, but reports indicate they are on course for tomorrowโ€™s crucial showdown with the Canaries, as Steve Kean looks to grab a vital three points as his side battle relegation. Gael Givet trained with the squad this week after being left out at the Liberty, with Kean suggesting he โ€œwasnโ€™t in the right frame of mindโ€ to take part. With Grant Hanley likely to be out with an ankle injury, Givet looks set to come back into the first-team fold.

Brendan Rodgers has suggested he is set to hand a few of his fringe players some game time over the remaining four matches of the season. The Swansea boss has revealed he is looking to freshen things up, though with the Welsh club not yet mathematically safe, his tinkering may be set aside for another week โ€“ victory at Bolton tomorrow would ensure their survival, though. Intriguingly, reports also suggest that Rodgers is looking at a new 3-4-3 system for next season.

Alan Pardew has revealed he has no qualms with fielding Rob Elliot in tomorrowโ€™s home clash with Stoke. The keeper is on standby to start after Tim Krul picked up a back problem in training and, with the Magpies conceding just a single goal in the last five Gameweeks, their manager is confident of Elliotโ€™s ability to step up, should Krul prove to be unavailable.

Iโ€™m not concerned about Tim. Robbie Elliot will play if he doesnโ€™t play โ€“ I wouldnโ€™t blink about putting him in. Heโ€™s been brilliant at the training ground with all the extra work heโ€™s done with our strikers and everybody else. He deserves to be in goal.

Harry Redknapp was somewhat cryptic in this morningโ€™s press conference. The Spurs boss revealed he is waiting on the fitness of as many as โ€œfour or fiveโ€ players ahead of the trip to QPR. Younes Kaboul and Niko Krancjar are definitely out for the London outfit, though; the duo have failed to recover from knee problems in time for the visit to Loftus Road.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Team for this week:

    Krul
    Evans Richards Vermaelen
    Valencia Dempsey Sigurdsson VDV(C)
    RVP Cisse Rooney

    Mignolet McClean Caulker Kaboul

1FT, 1.8 in the bank. Everything looks right? Would you use the other FT to improve anyone?

    A) Pienaar&Cahill

    B) Osman&Luiz

ok just to let you all know. Guy in my ML has shifted RvP and taken a punt on Torres.

This is his 4th striker punt of the season

1st - Yakubu just before Swansea (scored 4 goals)

2nd - Pogrebnyak just before Stoke (scored 5 in his next 3)

3rd - Cisse just before Norwich (has scored 8 in his last 5)

Put something on Torres to back a brace tomorrow.

ok people the wait is over. JK's DGW analysis is back.

This time, midfielders come under the spotlight in a 3 part look.

We start with the most attractive set of midfielders (FPL wise)

      Tottenham

Most likely target - Gareth Bale

Despite diminished returns in the last few weeks, the Welsh wizard remains 2nd on the midfield points list, and is likely to see much re-investment from keen DGW planners eager to take advantage of Spurs' tasty looking DGW fixtures, and from casuals who will soon be noticing the increased fixture list contained in GW36. As Spurs' form has faltered, interest in them has wavered, yet Bale has remained their most dangerous player and remains capable of producing at least one double figure haul in the DGW. Those who sold early can easily make a profit as Bale's purchase price has slumped from a high of 9.7 down to its current rate of 9.1. He remains the most likely target in DGW, and probably the best chance of high captain returns on the midfield.

Alternative option - Rafael Van De Vaart

At the start of the season the Dutch maestro delivered astonishing returns for those who climbed aboard early enough (points to self). As those infamous hamstrings started to play up again, the returns began to dry up, as did his ownership. Yet, in recent weeks, Van Der Vaart has begun to look like his old self and a goal and assist vs Swansea appeared to show the way forward. But since then he, like Spurs, has struggled to make an impact. Yet, on his day he remains one the most explosive midfielders in the game, particularly if deployed behind the front man, and remains on free-kicks and corners, if not penalties.

The Doosra Differential punt - Aaron Lennon.

Though he does not offer the same returns as our other 2 options, Lennon's worth to Spurs has been shown by their form in his absence. He offers a pace and directness down the right hand side that Spurs can not replicate when he is out. Although he does not bag many goals, his steady stream of crosses offers plenty of scope for assists. If money is tight and the budget will simply not stretch to one of the 2 big boys, consider Lennon as an alternate route.

      Everton

Most likely target - Steven Pienaar

Back at Everton on loan, it took their former hero a little bit of time to settle back in, whilst his lack of games for Spurs meant match fitness took a while to come back. However, in the last 3 weeks he has sparked in to life and delivered a goal and 3 assists, including 1 of each, alongside a bonus point in the 4-0 drubbing of Sunderland. This form has not gone un-noticed and Pienaar may see a surge in investment once Everton's tricky looking tie at Old Trafford this weekend has been negotiated. For those looking to invest in the Everton midfield, the South African magician offers the best chance of some decent returns.

      Alternative Option - Leon Osman

Priced slightly cheaper than his team-mate, Osman is Everton's leading midfield points scorer by some distance. He too bagged a goal and an assist v Sunderland, making it 4 of each for the season, alongside a couple of BPs, making a total of 13 this season. Those are not bad returns for an Everton midfielder. He looks nailed on to occupy to right midfield slot and could benefit from Pienaar's return to form.

Doosra Differential Punt - Darron Gibson

I could have opted for just about any other Everton midfielder for this spot. Cahill's price and lack of goals right now rules him out. Fellaini suffers due to him being a disciplinary risk, whilst the once popular Royston Drenthe looks unlikely to play for Everton again. That leaves the former Man United midfielder as the only real choice. Capable of defense splitting passes and long-range blasts, the Irishman has the potential to score well. It has however, potential he has yet to live up to. Injury has hampered his start, but, given a regular run of games he could deliver some good returns. For those with nothing to play for who just fancy a punt, Gibbo is the man for you.

        Fulham

Most Likely Target - Clint Dempsey

The top scoring mid in both FPL and the actual Premier League, the American (or should that be Captain America?) is one of the most in form players around. 4 goals in his last 3, including 2 away from home, where he is apparently unable to perform shows how lethal he is right now. Although his GW35 fixture no longer looks as attractive as it once did, he should never be discounted at home, whilst, should Liverpool choose to rest key squad members ahead of the cup final, he could easily bag something at Anfield. Screw this, why I am bothering, just save yourself the hassle and buy him, you know you'll regret it if you don't. (Unless of course you already own him)

Alternative Option - Danny Murphy (go ahead if you must)

On penalties and set-pieces the Fulham skipper offers a great chance of assist points, with the odd penalty thrown in. Significantly cheaper than Captain America, Murphy offers a cheaper route into Fulham, albeit for what is likely to be much smaller returns. But again, if money is tight, Murphy could be a decent DGW pick. The question is, is he still nailed on?

Doosra Differential Punt - Damien Duff

The Irishman has been showing signs of returning to his old self recently, with a goal and 2 assists in his last 3. A move back out to the left has seemingly done him wonders, and with ownership of just 1.2% and priced at 6.1 he could be a left-field pick that pays dividends. If Murphy is out he is also on corners.

Yep they would only allow a small amount of risk on an offer like that. Wouldn't be surprised if they cut it off at £2k or so.

Struggling to justify getting rid of Rooney or RVP when they both have something to play for.

But want City attacking cover against Wolves.

I have 2 frees. Is using them to do Cisse & Walcott -> Aguero & Ben Arfa a good move?

That gives me RVP, Rooney and Aguero up front, whilst keeping NEWC coverage for the double (HBA is on form, and surely Cisse can’t keep up his incredible shots/goals ratio?)

Cisse is the last one I'd take out. I'd either stick - maybe have a look at Silva/Nasri in midfield... Or do a straight swap with one of the big guns (I've done Rooney > Aguero). If it doesn't pan out it's a straight swap back.

I'm thinking about selling Kompany. Wolves will score, they'll play nothing to loose. United will also score which means 4 points for Bad Komp. I'm thinking about bringing Skrtel, while everyone is taking him out, he'll be a slight differential? It's not for a hit.

      Bad Komp: 2 + 2 = 4 (maybe)
Skrtel: WBA + nor + FUL = more than 4 (probably)

      What you guys think?

Not the craziest idea I've ever heard, I'd almost prefer Kaboul though as Spurs defensively are no worse and Kaboul is, stop me if you've heard this, due some attacking points, plus their fix are better through to 38.

Team for this week…no changes made yet..

      Vorm (Sorenson)
      Evans, Simpson, Kompany (BAE, McAuley)
      Bale, Dempsey, Siggy, Valencia (Sess)
      RVP, Roon, Cisse

RVP to Aguero worth this weeks FT… ??

What's Jol like with tactics by the way. Martinez has clearly got the better of Fergie and Wenger....any chance Martinez will meet his match with old baldy, chunky chops.

He made an utter pig's ear of the Swansea game, I think he's a natural 4-4-2 man who sometimes gets a rush of blood to the head and tries to be all clever.

hmmm...Wigan will play a short passing and pressing game , pin point key players and leaver them little room...hoping to catch them on the break. Dempsey does tend to score late......hmmm...tough one.

Yep coin flip time. Cisse is 10/11 to score Dempsey is 6/5 so Dempsey probably has a marginally higher points expectancy but not by much.
