So much for the theory that stability is the foundation of success. While many were up in arms over the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas, with the Portuguese manager granted a mere eight months of the 2011/12 season before his services were deemed surplus to requirement, the chopping and changing seems to have worked at Stamford Bridge.

Roberto Di Matteo has made an immediate impact since settling in as interim manager earlier last month. Guiding the Blues to the FA Cup Final and upsetting the odds with a Nou Camp draw last Tuesday, the Italian is now afforded the chance of two lots of silverware, boosting his chances of landing the job on a permanent basis. With a couple of home ties against QPR and Newcastle this Gameweek, many Fantasy managers are eying up Chelsea’s Fantasy assets but, with rest and rotation set to kick in, picking the right choice is proving to be a tricky task.

Step forward Fernando Torres. A look at Di Matteo’s recent selection policy suggests it’s Didier Drogba who is likely to be tasked with leading the line in the cup competitions and, with three starts in the last four Gameweeks, the Spaniard looks more inclined to be handed game time in the league. Priced at 9.8 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Torres has returned a respectable 5.25 points per game over the last four matches, with a goal, three assists and a bonus point accrued.

Although QPR have upset the form book with wins over the likes of Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool in recent weeks, all these results have come at Loftus Road – Mark Hughes’ outfit have lost their last six on the road, in comparison. While Newcastle’s defence have been returning the points with a recent regularity, it’s worth noting that most of their clean sheets have come at the Sports Direct Arena – they’ve kept out their opponents only twice in the last seven road trips.

Let’s be honest – El Nino has hardly set the league alight since moving to the Bridge but, as his equaliser at Barcelona highlighted, he’s still more than capable of finding the net and seems to have increased in confidence under Di Matteo’s guidance. It’s a risk, clearly – there’s every chance he could fail to fire and you could be left kicking yourself for snapping up his services – but, with an ownership of just 2.9% and games against Liverpool and Blackburn to see out the season, it’s one that could reap reward for those Fantasy managers scouring the market for a mini-league gamble.

Bollox. He does no such thing. LB is the only position were young Danny can get a look in, given our left winger's machine-like stamina.

He's had a few starts on the left last season, and he played in a front 3 for England U-21 last summer if I'm not mistaking. He's predominantly a winger.

I'd go Cisse captain, but I'm a mag! Joking aside, he's been mine for weeks and not regretted it.

I don't really like Spurs form, not sure what's happened to them. tired?

So VDV isnt looking so appealing. Pienaar is prob a better option but I am thinking Gerrardfor a punt. I'm 30k so havent exactly got a lot to lose

Need a big differential so will be taking a 4 pointer to get rid of Sess and RVP. Which to go for out of any combination of:

    Mids: Pienaar, VDV, Lamps, Mata.

    Fwds: Jelavic, Ade.

Already have Bale if that makes any difference. 60 points to catch up.

      Pienaar and Jelly.

Lamps / Mata rotation risk and you'll not get 180
      Ade is hot and cold

Cheers. Yeah I know Pienaar and Jelly are safer for minutes, but I need to close a 60 point gap. Can't see those guys doing it.

Can't see Lamps or Mata either. VDV will need him AND his team to do a 180 and start playing well, Ade for me is too inconsistent.

It's a pretty big punt but Lamps potential despite rotation is pretty big!!
I imagine the feeling in the Chelsea camp would be sky high!

Hi chaps, opinions and advice? Only one free and can't decide the best way forward.

    Krul

Kompany - Taylor - Walker - Verm (Ward on bench)

Sigs - Arfa - Song - Demp (vc) (Sess on bench)

RVP - Cisse (c) (Bendtner on bench)

Thinking of Bendtner for Jelavic (free) and dropping RVP
Also is it worth Kompnay - Terry (-4) as I know he'll need 2 clean sheets but might get the goal.
Or Pienaar for Sess (-4) and drop Sigs?

    Decisions decisons!

“The players feel they are not going into matches well enough prepared,” a Tottenham source told Goal.com. “For instance, they will practice all week in a 4-5-1 formation and then play 4-4-2 at the weekend. Or vice versa.

“They also feel there is not enough attention to detail and tactics. One common complaint is little or no practice defending set-pieces. There are question marks about the coaching and how much the players are improving through the input of the staff.”

Looks like Kaboul could be fit so here is my current team:

    Krul
    Kaboul Vermaelen Caulker
    Bale Dempsey Sigurdsson VDV(C)
    Cisse RVP Jelevic

    Mignolet Valencia Richards Evans

Haven't taken a hit yet, willing to take one, what do you reckon? Need to lose Richards so Terry is the obvious one but can we really expect a cleansheet from Chelsea? Mata for Valencia is tempting but then i'd have a selection headache. Anyone have any suggestions? 3.8 in the bank.

I like the Terry move, Chelsea look like they could keep a cleanie against anyone. How many have they kept under RDM?

Yeah they've kept a fair few, who will play CB with Terry against QPR though? That is the match where you'd back them for a CS, Newcastle will be tough.

Im guessing Ferriera maybe? Are Cahill & Luiz definetly fooked? I can see them keeping a clean sheet in both. Can see that Newcastle game being 0-0, 2 solid defences, both scared to lose the game.

Looking good as is. Can't see any major improvements you could make and defence looks strong. As you say, any further transfers and you'll just have a selection headache.

Barcelona could have continued as strong as they have been under Pep next season. Some strengthening at the back and Villa returning could have been all they needed. I guess he needs a new chapter in his life though. He has won everything with the club and after 4 years he has probably had enough.

How my team is going to fare in the coming week?
    Friedel(2)
    Terry(2) SImpson(2) Caulker
    Mata(2) Petrov(2) Sig Sess
    Jelavic(2) Pog(2) Suarez(2)
    Bench:Vorm,Evans,Valencia,BAE(injured)

I had 9 DGW players but with the injury to BAE i think am going to field just 8 DGW players for a 4 point hit. Shall i do Sess to VDV for a 8 point hit? 🙂
