So much for the theory that stability is the foundation of success. While many were up in arms over the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas, with the Portuguese manager granted a mere eight months of the 2011/12 season before his services were deemed surplus to requirement, the chopping and changing seems to have worked at Stamford Bridge.

Roberto Di Matteo has made an immediate impact since settling in as interim manager earlier last month. Guiding the Blues to the FA Cup Final and upsetting the odds with a Nou Camp draw last Tuesday, the Italian is now afforded the chance of two lots of silverware, boosting his chances of landing the job on a permanent basis. With a couple of home ties against QPR and Newcastle this Gameweek, many Fantasy managers are eying up Chelsea’s Fantasy assets but, with rest and rotation set to kick in, picking the right choice is proving to be a tricky task.

Step forward Fernando Torres. A look at Di Matteo’s recent selection policy suggests it’s Didier Drogba who is likely to be tasked with leading the line in the cup competitions and, with three starts in the last four Gameweeks, the Spaniard looks more inclined to be handed game time in the league. Priced at 9.8 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Torres has returned a respectable 5.25 points per game over the last four matches, with a goal, three assists and a bonus point accrued.

Although QPR have upset the form book with wins over the likes of Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool in recent weeks, all these results have come at Loftus Road – Mark Hughes’ outfit have lost their last six on the road, in comparison. While Newcastle’s defence have been returning the points with a recent regularity, it’s worth noting that most of their clean sheets have come at the Sports Direct Arena – they’ve kept out their opponents only twice in the last seven road trips.

Let’s be honest – El Nino has hardly set the league alight since moving to the Bridge but, as his equaliser at Barcelona highlighted, he’s still more than capable of finding the net and seems to have increased in confidence under Di Matteo’s guidance. It’s a risk, clearly – there’s every chance he could fail to fire and you could be left kicking yourself for snapping up his services – but, with an ownership of just 2.9% and games against Liverpool and Blackburn to see out the season, it’s one that could reap reward for those Fantasy managers scouring the market for a mini-league gamble.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

RIDICULOUS run of points, I don't even think RVP's best run can match that! That's 6 games equating to an average of 11.6 points per game.

The only problem is who he's facing:

Wigan - Bossing it at the moment, looking great all over the field.
Chelsea - I've underestimated them for the past 10 games so I'm rating them higher from now on haha.

Having said that you can't argue with his form, I think he's a great option this week and probably THEE safe option for the armband. I'm just risking VDV for potential flair but if I don't have the balls then I'll probably captain Cissé too.

My rough notes on the DGW:

Chelsea - They will be on a high after Tuesday's result, however with the injuries/suspension and the rest/rotation risk ahead of the cup final, I'm avoiding them

Spurs - Great fixtures but terrible form. They could keep a clean sheet but the way Blackburn and Bolton are scrapping for survival you wouldn't bet too much against both teams scoring against a Spurs side who've won only 1 of their last 9 games.

Offensively, VDV is probably the best bet, however even he's not particularly in form.

I'm inclined to stay away from them aswell. I'm keeping Bale but I certainly wouldn't be brining him in as his form has nosedived since January.

Newcastle - Great form but two away games at in form Wigan and 4th place-chasing Chelsea. I think Cisse is stil a good bet this week as he can definitely score against Wigan and you wouldn't bet against him bagging one against a depleated Chelsea backline with one eye on the cup final.

Everton - For me the best team of the gameweek. They're in solid form and are up against perennial away stugglers fulham this weekend before a trip to mid-table Stoke. Jagielka, Piennar and Jelavic all look a decent bet. They play Wolves after DGW - makes them even stronger proposition

Stoke - 2 home games however they have failed to register a clean sheet in 7 attempts. Huth is an option due to his goal threat. However, Stoke seem to be winding down towards the end of the season content with a mid table finish, so I'd avoid.

Conclusion: Everton are the team for the DGW

Sad to see Guardiola leave Barcelona but I can't blame him. The stress and pressure put on the managers in La Liga is massive. I'm not sure how quickly Barcelona will recover from this, the guy had a great relationship with the players and understood the team better than anyone. I nearly feel sorry for the next manager, I don't know how they will live up to his example.

Exactly, the pressure they put on the managers over there is huge. Not even from a club level. After the loss to Chelsea in the CL there were people from all over Spain giving out about it because they take it nearly as a national insult to lose to a team outside of Spain. Massive pressure so I can't blame him for walking.

Yeah I have considered keeping kun. However if baines doesn't play I only have 5dgw players. Jelly has good fixtures and in good form.

                  Mignolet, Valencia, Kompany, Evans

I might get Pienaar in for Valencia and start him instead of McLean, not sure yet!

              I'm probably doing the same...

The real question is who to cap? To whom will you give the armband then?

Blooming doubtful players have scuppered my original ideas....

    Krul
    Caulker, Sagna, Kelly (BAE,JEvans)
    Bale, Dempsey, Ryo, Siggy (Valencia)
    Cisse, Jela, Ageuro

Thinking Ryo needs to go but so confused on who to replace him with with rotation likely to be rife.

    Any ideas?!

I'm debating the same thing but I have Jelavic instead of Tevez.

Reasons for not taking out RVP: GW 37 and 38 fixtures, Arsenal fighting HARD for champions league football

Reasons for not taking Rooney out: Good scoring record against City recently, leading United's title charge

      Take out Tevez: Simple

0 hits taken, currently fielding this (19k ranked)

    BOGDAN
    SIMPSON SKRTEL HIBERRT Caulker
    BALE MATA DEMPSEY
    JELAVIC (C) Rooney RVP

    Subs Sigurdsson Evans Surman

8 DGW players in total... Cannot decide whether to bring in Cisse for RVP, 4pt hit and captain him

    What do you think?

Sigurdsson ahead of Caulker surely 😕

If Caulker outscores Siggy it won't be by much (3 pts max probably) but Siggy might outscore Caulker by a lot. That's my attitude anyway.

    Is Pienaar actually any good?
Scored consistently since being back at Everton, but is he worth -4 points (and a spurs def) over Osman?
(im a bit worried about Osman game time + i hate it when a team scored 3+ goals [mun] and a player doesnt get anthing!)

      Bosingwa - Ferreira - Terry - Cole/Bertrand

Now the question is who will start against Newcastle, best bet would be:

      Bosingwa - Ivanovic - Terry - Cole

Unless Luiz is fit for Toon.

Seems to have got lost in the post 🙂

Hey guys. Bit of help here:

    A: Mcauley –> Terry
    B: Caulker –> Terry
    C: Kompany —> Terry
    D: Aguero —> Torres
    E: Sigurdsen –> Mata

Reports suggest Balotelli might have a role in the City game, which worries me for game time with Aguero.. And ML leader has Aguero

    Thanks all
