The Dugout Discussion opens this afternoon, hoping for a similar goal glut witnessed in yesterday’s edition. We’ve two games to pour over, with all four clubs with something to play for. Later we’ll be at White Hart Lane where Tottenham continue to chase Champions League qualification against relegation fighting Blackburn. Before that there’s a West London derby at Stamford Bridge, between Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers…

Chelsea XI: Cech, Ferreira, Bosingwa, Terry, Cole, Mata, Essien, Lampard, Sturridge, Torres, Kalou.

QPR: Kenny, Onuoha, Ferdinand, Hill, Taiwo, Mackie, Barton, Derry, Buzsaky, Cisse, Zamora.

As expected, Roberto Di Matteo has tinkered with his line-up ahead of of a huge night in Munich, but somewhat surprisingly there are still starts for the likes of Juan Mata and Frank Lampard.

The visitors name an attacking line-up, with Djibril Cisse partnering Bobby Zamora up front.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open – with moderators will be on hand to resolve any issues – and can be accessed right here.

not sure what abramovic is makin of this, never gave avb the time to build a new chelsea vision and avb didnt get the best out of the current squad, so sacked
rdm turned out to be brilliant at this, but you have to feel chelsea have lucked into it, rdm was not part of the plan, it should have worked out like terry connor at wolves and now everyone wants rdm permenently...... very odd turn out

not hatin chelsea, just kickin off debate

I blame the players completely. They are just trying harder now
They clearly didn't like avnet and his methods, and have cost the club 30 million!

I think Chelsea always had it in them - I mean, RDM has made no changes really. Personally I think that he just gets along with the players better and that means they are more likely to perform under him as their manager. Of course their winning streak under him has helped too. Had they not won their games things would be very different.

well hes part of the furniture isnt he, but that makes the squad lookin a bit childish and very cliquey for not playin for avb just cos they didnt like him or his tactics.
        fair play to rdm tho

Football players can be very childish though - if they aren't getting played regularly then they become very unhappy and their performances often take a nose dive because of it. It's a combination of things that has lead to this upturn in form, RDM has been supremely impressive with all that he has achieved in such little time.

No way can you solely blame the players. I'm sorry but AVB's arrogance was more of a problem than anything. It's the managers job to get the best out of his players and he turned them against him. He was disrespectful to Alex and Anelka the way he froze them out and banished them in some situations. It's difficult to play for a manager you don't respect or agree with and I don't think AVB earned that respect. Look how RDM has involved every player in the squad. You can see the togetherness off the group since he took over.

AVB seemed to have a very immature management style. No wonder several players were unmotivated to deliver for him. Part of the problem was player performance, but the catalyst was absolutely AVB's poor leadership.

Selfish, not as good as he thinks he is, not a good winger, but playing in a system that needs him to be. Wants to play up top, but with a resurgent Torres (and resilient Drogba) that's not going to happen.
