Fernando Torres grabs a hat-trick as Chelsea put six past QPR. Juan Mata is amongst the points again, while John Terry grabs his fifth of the season in the Stamford Bridge rout. Rafael Van der Vaart picks up the points, as does Kyle Walker, after a bitterly disappointing Blackburn display at the Lane.

Fernando Torres
With a couple of starts looking assured, we’d drafted him into the Scout Picks, but Torres surpassed all expectations with a superb hat-trick against QPR yesterday afternoon. The 9.9 priced forward rewarded those 22,000+ Fantasy managers who snapped up his services ahead of Chelsea’s pair of fixtures and, similar to Luis Suarez, choose this weekend to record his highest points haul of the season. Torres picked up 17 points, producing his second double figure return in his last four starts, as the Blues avenged their Gameweek 9 defeat at Loftus Road. With Didier Drogba likely to be rested again for the visit of Newcastle ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup Final, a buoyant Torres could well rack up the points once again when the Magpies come calling on Wednesday.

Juan Mata
The 9.7 midfielder was afforded a 66 minute appearance by Roberto Di Matteo but still had enough time to return four assists for his Fantasy owners. Mata kept up his strong form under the interim boss – yesterday’s 16 point haul was the fifth time in six starts he has produced attacking points since the dismissal of Andre Villas-Boas. With replacement Florent Malouda grabbing a goal and the likes of Salomon Kalou and Daniel Sturridge all getting amongst the points, though, the worry is that Di Matteo could be a little cautious with Mata’s game time for the Newcastle encounter. Mata now sits on a 161 point haul for the season after yesterday’s display, the fifth top scoring midfielder thus far and has picked up 16 assists, more than any other player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.

John Terry
With injuries and suspension hitting Chelsea hard, their skipper looked the only certainty for a couple of starts over the double Gameweek. Paulo Ferreira was handed a rare start at right-back, as Jose Bosingwa partnered Terry in the heart of defence – the latter headed home his fifth goal of the season, just one less than Thomas Vermaelen at the top of the defender charts. Although Terry’s hopes of a double figure haul were scuppered when Djibril Cisse notched a late consolation, Bosingwa still benefitted from a clean sheet – he was subbed off for Sam Hutchinson two minutes before the Frenchman’s goal.

Rafael Van der Vaart
While Gareth Bale continued a goalless streak that stretches back to Gameweek 23, the Dutchman opened the scoring in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Blackburn. Van der Vaart has now notched in each of his last three starts at the Lane, handing his 7% Fantasy owners an eight point return ahead of Wednesday’s game with Bolton. Spurs are now back in fourth but will need to up their away form for the Reebok trip if they are to keep ahead of Newcastle – Harry Redknapp’s side have scored in only one of their last six away matches.

Kyle Walker
With Blackburn desperately needing points, many had expected Steve Kean’s side to at least come out fighting at the Lane yesterday. Instead, what unfolded was a game that resembled an attack v defence training match at times – Rovers failed to muster a single shot over the entire ninety minutes. As a result, Spurs grabbed their first home clean sheet since Gameweek 25 and, with Walker also firing home a superb free-kick for his side’s second, the full-back returned a 15 point haul for his display at the Lane. Subject to almost 70,000 transfer in after Benoit Assou-Ekotto was ruled out last week, Walker is now one point ahead of the left-back for the season, after taking his total to 136 yesterday. While Spurs have been poor from an attacking perspective on the road of late, Walker’s owners will be confident ahead of the trip to Bolton – the Londoners have conceded just once in their last three on the road.

So what do people think of Woy for England manager? As a WBA fan I'm gutted, but it serves us right for sacking RDM; really harsh of us to send him packing considering his record. And now look what's happened.

    Uh.

Well I think Roy is a better option than Redknapp and I think he deserves his chance. I agree WBA shouldn't have dropped RDM so quickly, much like Fulham dropping Roy for no reason. It happens, WBA will find someone else if he leaves.

What's happened is you're mid-table instead of in a relegation dogfight. It would be harsh for you to lose him.

I rate Hodgson as possibly the best manager over a number of years to bring the best from low budget average clubs and players. He has done it both here and in Europe and the U.A.E.

I'm afraid there are too many monster egos in the England squad, but hope it works out for him if he takes it.

I suppose I should be grateful he saw here at all... Kinda worried about next season now though.

As for the England job, it's one of the most poisoned of chalices out there really. I've been saying for while that it's time to focus on just our young hopefuls and let (some of) the old guard go, but that didn't really work for Chelsea did it! (Which brings us neatly back to RDM...) So now I'm not so sure.

A little aside: how do I link my team to my screen-name? Or is that just for paying members?

Ole has gone through the SAF school of managing.

Took an utter shoit team to the Norwegian title in his first year.

Not a utter shit team. One of the most stable top teams the last twenty years, with two of the richest Norwegians as their investors. They finished as second best two seasons earlier, and had a utterly shit season the season earlier. Despite that, they managed to win 7 out of 8 last games the season beforehand, with Uwe Rösler as their manager(Former Man City player, current Brentford manager). Solskjaer is far from impressing. He has got the best staff around him in the whole league. Last season he probably had the best squad in the league, as Rosenborg lost a few of their most important players(Demidov, Real Sociedad; Iversen, Crystal Palace; Annan, Schalke; Skjelbred, Hamburg; Stadsgaard, Malaga) . At least he definately had the best midfield, and that was even before Eikrem came to Molde. Last season was probably the season where the league was on it lowest quality wise since the 80s. All of the teams in the league were very inconsistent, and the same counted for Molde; who were far from impressing, but won a huge amount of their games despite not being able to dominate. With the best squad, the best staff, and the most money behind his back, do you think he has proved that he's a quality manager?

That's it, i can walk fairly long distances without getting out of breath but i'll get huge chest pains - but then, sometimes i can run up the stairs and feel like i'm gonna pass out. I've always naturally fit, that damp room really ****ed me up though.

Not a doctor, but chest pains may also be heart(blood pressure) related. Should be careful with that shht before doing more exercise. Walking, Swimming, bikeing and other low heart rate activities are still pretty harmless even for people with health risks.

Often i feel it's my heart but doctors are bluntly like "no" because my blood pressure seems alright when i put my finger into one of those silly little things.

I have been doing pushups, a few free weight workouts at home aswell, more about trying to gain weight but like i implied, i don't think i could go for a proper jog - maybe on the spot but that's not gonna do a lot.

Well i was living in damp conditions (a botched garage conversion) for over a year and i still get bad chest pains, horrible taste in my mouth. The doctors link it to being psychological because nothing came up on a chest x-ray though. I keep moaning about it and they are doing nothing, trying to get myself referred to some sort of chest/ENT specialist but no luck.

Even switched to green tea and try drinking loads more water for their health benefits. I've always ate fairly healthily.

Yeah I acquired the services of RVP in GW 4 and never looked back. I also had been successful with my cheeky differential punts over the course of the season. I had the likes of Adebayor,Sturridge,Bent,Ba,Graham,Pog,Suarez,Dzeko,Agbonlahor playing for me along with RVP.

Those with Begovic / Mignolet what would you do?

"Tony Pulis has today revealed that he will not be playing Thomas Sorensen in goal for Stoke City’s Premier League match against Arsenal this afternoon, however he will play him for the club’s final two games of the season away to Queens Park Rangers and home to Bolton Wanderers."

    Will begovic start against Everton?

I would think so, but if you started Begovic this week it is irrelavant as you'll already have him as your keeper this week due him starting v Arsenal.

I had both of them I'd be looking to move one on for next week though

Could anyone please tell me that there's a chance Valencia or Rooney won't feature tonight? Got the wigan prophet in at first sub and I want his 16 points!

If there's no reason to think this will happen, feel free to make up some injury news, I just need something to make me feel better after captaining Dempsey.

Yep I did this too, though I did have Silva, I could have recovered better though and I think my faults were picking the wrong cheap mids most of the time, and then squeezing my defence a bit much in mid-season.

      - Captaining Torres and Suarez 2-3 times each near the beginning.
      - Keeping hold of Sessegnon and Moses for too long and then getting rid just before they hit form.
      - Never jumping on the Cisse bandwagon.
      - Having Pienaar and Walker in my WC team and then taking them both out last minute.

Most of mine have been captain choices, plus GW33 where I had 25 points sitting on my bench.

Faults, took far too many hits early on, not all of them worked, and I frittered my wc away in GW4 as I thought I'd struggle to get a team as I had 7 yellow flagged players. Had I held fire (this was before I joined FFS) I would have known I could have got a team out with a 4 pointer and just saved the wc.

Most are with hindsight. At the time though I don't think there was anything I did that was foolish.

My main fault has been perhaps not taking greater risks now and again.

I've been top 8,000 since gameweek 14, peaking at 2,700th. Not taking risks ensured I kept that level of consistency....but also meant that I never quite got beyond that 2,000th place mark.

I consider this a very successful season...consistent, nothing spectacular, odd bad week, odd good one. Ended last season on 6,800th but spent most of the season around the 100,000 to 500,000 mark.

Big improvements this year have been hopping on bandwagons and playing the market and blending fixtures and form. Rather than focus on one. I was way too fixture focused last year and far too reticent to be considered a sheep by getting in a bandwagon.

What I really want, is the ability to have more than just the occasional 70, and to cut down my really crappy game weeks to three or less!!!

If I might be so bold, you seem to have a penchant for rather left-field (figuratively) midfield picks, not cheap ones either! 🙂

Song has been a good call...he is my type of player....consistently assisting his way through the season. I'd definitely consider him next year if he is in the 6m mark.

I think 70 plus this week for this site will be the average.
Your just getting the season out of the way. Qualifying for Europe last year through the fair play league obviously took its toll on your team.

What do people reckon the average this week will be?

It's already 36 (which is surprisingly low for a high goal-scoring week)

Most people will captain one of Bale-Rooney- Ageuro-RVP so if they score big the average goes up due to their enormous ownership.

If they score low then it tends to be low scoring.

Tonight will be a good indication of where the average will go...if Ageuro and Rooney score a hattrick each the average will go through the roof. If Bale scores one or two this week then it'll shoot up.

It may not seem it on here but the likes of Piennar and Jelavic are still differentials.
