Rotation bites hard for Liverpool as Kenny Dalglish makes multiple changes for the visit of Fulham. Clint Dempsey drew another blank to return a mere five point double Gameweek, Tony Hibbert follows up his clean sheet against Fulham with an assist at Stoke, as the Potters keep Nikica Jelavic quiet at the Britannia:

Liverpool Rotation
Having clinched a 3-0 victory at Norwich on Saturday evening, Liverpool welcomed Fulham to Anfield in confident mood. Any chance of building momentum ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup Final against Chelsea was quashed, however, as Kenny Dalglish’s decision to make nine changes to his first XI backfired. Much to the frustration of their Fantasy owners, the likes of Luis Suarez, Steven Gerrard, Pepe Reina and Daniel Agger were all handed the night off but a 1-0 defeat, courtesy of a Martin Skrtel own goal, means the Reds have picked up a single point in their last five at Anfield. A home match in Gameweek 37, ironically against Chelsea, offers Dalglish’s side the chance of a final home win of the campaign – after last night’s debacle, the Liverpool boss will surely roll out his first-choice XI next time round, as his side’s league campaign stutters to an unimpressive close.

Clint Dempsey
So often the saviour of double Gameweeks, a pair of away fixtures proved the undoing of Dempsey this time round. The top scoring Fantasy Premier League (FPL) midfielder returned just five points over his two games and has now gone three games without a goal – equalling his worst run of the season. With a home game against Sunderland up next, though, his Fantasy owners will be confident of the points – the Black Cats have recorded just two clean sheet in 11 away games since Martin O’Neill replaced Steve Bruce in December.

Fulham Defence
The Cottagers banished the memories of last weekend’s 4-0 thrashing at Everton by returning a clean sheet an Anfield – their second in the last three away games. With Stephen Kelly recovered from a wrist injury, Aaron Hughes returned to centre-half alongside Brede Hangeland, with Philippe Senderos dropping out. Considering that Sunderland have failed to score in four of their last six on the road, Martin Jol’s side look a decent bet for another clean sheet this weekend.

Tony Hibbert
While Nikica Jelavic’s goal glut came to an end at the Britannia, the 4.8 priced right-back picked up an assist for Peter Crouch’s own goal, bringing his tally for the double Gameweek to 11 points – only Steven Pienaar (16) and Jelavic (14) provided more. Hibbert now has three assists in his last three appearances and a total of five for the season; Leighton Baines has mustered a mere two for the Toffees all term. Hibbert is now second only to Baines for points amongst the Everton back-four but, with the latter coming in at 7.8, the right-back has been far better value over the course of the campaign.

Stoke’s double Gameweek
Two home fixtures over the Gameweeks offered the chance of Fantasy returns but with Arsenal and Everton the visitors, it ended somewhat flat for Tony Pulis’ side. The Potters remained unbeaten over their pair of games but, with a couple of 1-1 draws, they have now gone nine games without returning a clean sheet. Peter Crouch and Matthew Etherington picked up the most points, with seven apiece, while Cameron Jerome climbed off the bench last night to notch his side’s equaliser. Pulis’ side have now gone six unbeaten at the Britannia – an ominous sign for Bolton, with the Trotters likely to need a win on the final day of the season to clinch survival.

Cisse could easily outscore both at home. Don't forget the form this lad is in.

I think they've been conceding a decent no. of chances on the road. Even Wolves found a way to infiltrate their backline, but couldn't find the back of the net. So I reckon it could be a high-scoring game for either team to stay in it.

I’ve got a major defensive crisis for next week which is messing with my transfer plans.

    Schwarzer (Cech)
Simpson (i). Evans (i). Vermaelen. (Caulker. Shotton)
    VDV. Valencia. Dempsey. Mata. (Sigurdsson)
    Rooney. Cisse. Jelavic

    Should I do:

    a) Cisse + Valencia > RVP + Moses

    b) Sigurdsson + Simpson > Moses + Kaboul/Hibbert (Better defence, but NO RVP!!)

    c) Vermaelen + Cisse > RVP + Gibbs. (A little sideways with Gibbs, but It’ll fund RVP in, and I don’t have to lose Valencia per option a)

    Thanks all!! Appreciate the help

Seriously...Adebayor has been such a waste of space for me (2nd DGW in a row). He looks as if he can't be bothered going for goals anymore. Time to transfer him out for the Robin/Roo-wagons methinks.

          Yourself?

PS - Villa's weakness at defending set-pieces worries me a tad but I still reckon they'll defend for their lives, so shouldn't see much goals there.

I think getting rid is a good decision. VDV & Bale in good enough cover for the final 2 GW's IMO and there are plenty of good striker options for the last two weeks.

So my team for this GW

    Cech
    Vermaelen / Walker / Evans
    VDV / Bale / Dempsey (c) / Moses
RVP (vc) / Aguero / Jelavic

    Mignolet / Mata / Hibbert / Caulker

Really don't like having Hibbert on the bench as although he is traditionally useless attacking wise, recently he has been very involved in Everton's attacks down the right crossing in threatening balls more often than usual and with Everton's form against a poor Wolves he could do well at both ends of the pitch.

    Any thoughts on my team?

I think Man Utd will win Swansea but not by the amount of goals most people predict. I can see it being 3 goals at the most, and im happy to go without. Swansea seem to up their game against the big teams. The last game against Sunderland will be tough for Man Utd and I can't see big points from it.

Any players with a fixture against Wolves, Blackburn, Villa or Liverpool in the next 2 GW's are worth holding IMO.

While Dalglish is in charge, yes. They have only won 5 games at home and have a shocking record this season especially against lower placed sides. I think Swansea will want their last home game to be a good one and they should win Liverpool.

Which is the better option for GW 38?

    A) Jelavic, Aguero (C), RVP, Dempsey

    B) Rooney, Aguero(C), RVP, Cabaye/Siggy and -4pt Hit

    C) Rooney (C), RVP, Jelavic, Silva

Fairly close in my two mini leagues (ahead with 27pts in one, behind by 6 pts in the other)

BAE is injured and Evans may not play leaving me with a defence of Wheater, Williamson and Huth. I can't see many clean sheets so should I swap BAE for Vermaelen? Before Evans got injured I was thinking of doing Cisse to Rooney. Or should I do both for a 4 point hit??
    1. BAE -> Verm
    2. Cisse to Rooney
    3. Both for a 4 point hit
    4. Wait for news on Evans injury (but will Fergie risk him??)

Vorm/Begovich as keepers, was planning to play Beg in goal for the remaining games and now he's not going to play. Is it worth a hit to bring in Schezny? I'm not confident on Vorm's ability to get points in the next 2 weeks.

    Hennessey Friedel
Kompany R Taylor Kaboul Hibbert Huth
Valencia Petrov Dempsey Van der Vaart Gerrard
    Cisse Tevez Jelavic

I'm struggling to work out who to field, I had Kompany on the bench last gameweek and dropped 22 points against my rival (my dad; there is a pint, pub meal and replica shirt riding on this).
Also, I’m looking for advice on captaincy.

    Please help!

I played safe and brought in valencia and rooney for lamps and cisse to be similar to 2nd place. I know evans is a doubt too, but cant think what else to do. Thoughts???
