Robin Van Persie grabs a double in Arsenal’s final home game of the season. Yossi Benayoun scores his second in four starts. Wes Hoolahan provides a goal and assist for the Canaries, while Grant Holt notches his fourteenth of the campaign in a six-goal thriller at the Emirates:

Robin Van Persie
With just a single game in yesterday’s Premier League schedule, the Arsenal skipper was afforded centre stage and he didn’t disappoint those who handed him the armband. Despite failing to score in his previous four at the Emirates, Van Persie was the runaway leader in the Captain Poll this weekend, with 55% of the votes cast – a couple of goals against the Canaries handed his owners a 10 point Fantasy Premier League (FPL) return. This was only his second double-figure points haul in the last ten Gameweeks and, indeed, his first at home since Gameweek 24. The surprise 3-3 draw now hands Spurs and Newcastle a lifeline in the race for third place – both are just two points behind the Gunners ahead of this afternoon’s games against Villa and City respectively. Arsenal, meanwhile, will hope to spoil the part at the Hawthorns next Sunday, as they roll up to West Brom for Roy Hodgson’s last game in charge – their task looks anything but easy, though; the Baggies have five clean sheets in the last six in front of their home fans.

Arsenal Midfield
While Thomas Vermaelen’s Fantasy owners were left frustrated after the Belgian failed to register a single point, the Gunners midfield joined their skipper in earning profit. Tomas Rosicky continued his recent upturn in attacking consistency by chalking up another assist. The Czech midfielder now has three in his last four starts, compared to just one goal and one assist prior to Gameweek 34. Alex Song’s superb creative season was highlighted by yet another assist – the 6.0 priced midfielder has provided twelve for the campaign; only four players have registered more in FPL this thus far. Yossi Benayoun kept his place on the left, with Gervinho staying wide right in Theo Walcott’s absence – the on-loan Israeli international grabbed his side’s second, bringing his recent total to two in his last four appearances.

Grant Holt
Left out of the starting line-up for the previous game against Liverpool, the 5.1 priced forward returned to the Norwich first XI as Paul Lambert opted for two up front at the Emirates. Holt vindicated his manager’s decision by grabbing his first goal since Gameweek 32 – his fourteenth of the season. With three goals and 17 bonus points also thrown in, Holt is the second top outfield player in terms of value this term, having accrued 131 points over his 35 appearances. A final match of the season see out-of-sorts Villa roll up to Carrow Road, offering Holt further opportunity to finish the season with a flourish a week today.

Wes Hoolahan
The Canaries playmaker chipped in with a goal and assist contribution as Norwich ended their three-game losing streak. Hoolahan has started six of his side’s last ten matches and has now produced attacking returns in all but one of those first-team appearances since Gameweek 28 – clearly, he has strong potential as a budget Fantasy forced but, despite his obvious impact, continues to remain a victim of Lambert’s rotation policy. Jonny Howson, on the other hand, is clearly favoured by the Norwich boss – the former Leeds man has started every one of his side’s last nine games and played a significant part yesterday, providing the assist for Steve Morison’s late equaliser.

Sad tbh. He looked a quality player and at a time where we need central midfielders and a physical presence in the middle of the pitch. Should have worked harder to keep him

I am bitterly dissapointed. I really think Fergie should try to keep him. Why let our top youth players disappear? This guy could be great backup this season to the likes of Valencia and Nani.

      I'm nervous as hell, Jake.

I think this afternoon may well decide both ends of the table.

Man City could very well slip up against Newcastle and hand the initiative back to Man Utd.

At the bottom, Stoke and West Brom could virtually decide the 3rd relegation place today (if you assume Blackburn are already gone along with Wolves).

If Stoke lose and WBA win then Bolton are almost certainly down regardless of what happens on the final day. If Bolton win and QPR don't then my boys are almost certainly down.

Have to go out this afternoon so may well stay well clear of all the results until MOTD tonight.

I'm thinking your wrong but it all depends on today for the R's. I'm sure we'll get 3 pts against Stoke (0 next weekend at Citeh) but it's all about whether Bolton can muster 4 pts from their 2 games. If they can we're well and truly sunk by our shite away form.

Hughes was known as a draw specialist away from home when he was with other clubs but with us it's now 7 straight defeats...

We've been most people's favourites for the drop all season so I see no reason why people would revise those predictions now.

Just a reminder. Bolton have lost 11 games at home this season and will now play their 5th game in 16 days this afternoon.

We shall see what happens this afternoon.

They offered 3/1 for Liverpool to win the FA Cup yesterday, didn't fancy it so just laid against it. Paid for a couple of drinks at least!

They'll probably do a couple of enhanced odds for today's tv games. Should be good. Maybe evens for Utd to beat Swansea!

Surely if there was one fixture Pakistan players would refuse to intentionally lose it'd be India in the K/O stages of the WC? The bitterness of that rivalry would surely mean the player's lives would probably be at risk if it became public

I dunno. City don't need goals. If they go 2-0 up I see them shutting up shop, whereas MUN may need to score a LOT.

Not saying Aguero isn't a good pick - he's a great pick next week. Just not sure if ditching Rooney is the way to go. Dempsey & Jelly -> Moses & Aguero (4 pointer) would be good, but I'm just short of funds.

Good morning all. Just watched highlights of Arse v Norwich and RVP missed the 2 easiest chances of the game but scored 2 from the most difficult !!

Looks my PP semi final cup tie is coming down to:

    Me v Him
    Krul v Schwarzer
    Jelavic v Rooney
    VDV v Pienaar

Think I am 2nd favourite here.

Watching the game, I think so. Lots of shots, most on target. Only person close was probably Hoolahan, who got booked.

He got the 3 last week against Stoke so I would say yes personally.
2 minimum if he doesn't get the 3.

Going for broke in the final week. How does this team look?

    Friedal (Minge)
    Verm Evans Terry (Santon, Hibbert)
    Maloney Moses Bale Siggy (Barfa)
    RvP Torres Aguero

    DOUBLE WIGAN 😯

Any chances for both Newcastle and Swansea to win/draw today? Both being the keyword here...
That really would be another incredible twist in the title race.

I think -8 hits are only to be used in utter desperation or DGWs BUT Aguero and Torres have two daisy fixtures, especially if B'burn are down by Monday night.
If you've got nothing to lose apart from overall rank, go for it.

It's about Net points per week. I've 53 subs so far and top 500. Don't be put off by multiple subs...just ensure the overall net value is higher than your opponents.
I did 5 changes in the DGW and scored well more than my league rivals.

Our h2h league is at s/f stage as well.
      We were surprised that this years s/f pitted the 1st v 2nd & the 3rd v 4th.
      I'm sure last year 1st v 4th & 2nd v 3rd
      Think that would be fairer.

Pantmillion in the goals would make City a lot more nervous. Papiss could get a lot of joy from that.
