Picklive have today gone live with their Euro 2012 Tournament offering, including a guaranteed prize pot of £2500 in their big tournament game and a total of £25,000 in prizes across all their games during the summer football feast.

You’ll find tournaments for individual matches, each group, each round of matches and the tournament as a whole. Picklive’s big Euro 2012 Tournament game is £15 to enter with a minimum guaranteed prize pot of £2500.

You can also create and host your own Tournaments with your mates and colleagues and Fantasy Football Scout have already got on board with a couple underway.

We’ve launched a free to play tournament for bragging rights which you can join via this link, or, if you fancy a flutter, we also have a £5 entry tournament right here, which will hopefully generate a decent prize pot. These are private tournaments, open only to our community and we’ll be covering progress in our coverage during Euro 2012.

The game itself couldn’t be simpler to play. You just need to select 11 players, with a limit of three from each country. There are no budgets in play, so it’s about mixing your eleven using some assured heavy-hitters, with some differentials that might just edge you ahead in the prize ladder.

Having done your homework on your Fantasy lineups for other games, Picklive Tournaments offer a great opportunity to turn your research in to some cash. Take it from me, a cheeky gamble on Emmerson Boyce and Pablo Zabaleta earned me a share of the top prize in their recent end of season game. I just know there plenty more winners out there in our community.

You’ll need a Picklive account to play and, if you enter the ‘ffscout’ Promo code when you make your first deposit, you’ll get a free £5 in your account.

Picklive accounts are only available to those aged 18 or over and, while the game is playable in some countries outside of the UK and Ireland, Picklive’s terms and conditions apply. That includes a fee of £20 for any prize withdrawals from a non-UK registered credit card.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Been tinkering a lot with my team due to these friendlies:

    GK: Given Hart
DF: Zhirkov K.Papa Alba Strinic Debuchy
MF: Kuba Mandzukic Ozil Shirokov Affelay
    FW: Lewandowski RVP Ibrahimovic

Not sure with doubling up Polish attack but I just feel that there can be goals in them two.

    When should I WC?

      Wouldn't double on Poland.

WC is really up to you. I'm on 3, but more people on here think 2.

Tricky with your goalies, I'd lose Hart and get someone cheaper.

          Hart > Szczesny
          Kuba > Nasri/Young

I've toyed with WC'ing GW 2, and my team isn't much different.

The only player I'd really want in 2 over 1 is Ronaldo and some Spanish attack, and as long as I play my transfer correctly, I can do that without taking a hit.

so lewandowski was one of the first players on my team, but now i think ibra might be a better pick for the same price. reason for that is poland plays greece and russia (both fairly good defensively), while sweden play ukraine and england which i think will be a very open game. what do you guys think?

Also Lewandowski is not on pens as I thought he was.

Ibrahimovic looks in good form, ukraines defence is poor (conceding 3 v austria)

i made some changes which i thought i wouldn't make similar to the lewandowski transfer. another transfer i did was mandzukic to larsson. i realize mandzukic is oop, but i just don't see croatia scoring much. they are also in a group with spain and italy, so the only game where they can profit is from the ireland game, and even that game will be tight.

larsson had pretty good qualifying games, and if ibra is going to score, it will most likely be him or kallstrom providing the assists. plus larsson and kallstrom share spot kicks, so it's pretty hard to decide between them, but i gave it to larsson just cause he plays in PL

Right quick spanner in the works before bed!!

Just thinking it may be useful to have the early kick offs shown so you will know which line ups you will see...

For example, you can take a punt on any of those teams for differentials, safe in the knowledge you can bench them, or sub them out if problems arise

Poland v Greece (Especially useful as team wont be confirmed at all)
Holland v Denmark (Useful to see if Affellay/RVP etc start)
Spain v Italy (dont think many of us will have nayone)
    France v England

Basically if you get a risky player who may or may not start, make sure it is from one of these teams. If not then make sure you have guaranteed starters

After saying that I think it makes sense to load up on Group A teams as they are mostly cheap and then any thing achieved over 4/5 points is a bonus, or you just bring in your subs.

    Am I stating the obvious??

afellay is just a massive knee jerk as he scored 2 v a dreadful n ireland side
alonso is no good for ff
rvp is good shout but sneijder from a is good coverage for holland

Evening Deadzoners, if there's any of you guys there. Here are my thoughts on Ukraine. I'll probably re-post it tomorrow evening. Night, night!

    THE DEFENCE

Don’t be fooled by the cheap prices of the Ukrainian defence. Over their past 21 friendlies, this defence has conceded an enormous 35 goals. On top of this, they will host Sweden who scored 31 goals in their qualifying campaign alone. A clean sheet in this game looks extremely unlikely.

If you are mad enough to have a punt at the defence, then you’ll be disappointed to know that we can’t be 100% sure who’ll be Ukraine’s number one goalkeeper for their first ever European Championships match. It was looking increasingly likely that Andriy Pyatov would start between the sticks but this notion was delivered a blow when he failed to play a single minute of Ukraine’s most recent friendly. However, there’s every chance that he’ll be recalled for the next friendly and indeed the tournament itself. Even at 5.0 million, he’s looking a little overpriced.

Defender Yaroslav Rakitskiy has netted twice in his last 10 international games and is nailed on to start all the matches (perhaps even in midfield) so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise for him to add to this tally during the tournament. He is the most expensive of all the Ukrainian defenders, though, at 5.5 million.

For 1 million cheaper, we have Yevhen Khacheridi who has started the last 3 games for the side. Normally, a price tag of 4.5 million alone would be tempting, but the team’s defensive frailties are too large a concern for even mild interest to be taken here.

    THE ATTACK

There’s no doubt that Ukraine’s matches in Euro 2012 will be full of goals because they may have conceded 35 goals in their last 21 matches, but managed to net 36 at the other end. Playing against a Swedish side struggling for clean sheets, a one week punt at least on a Ukrainian attacker looks an excellent move. The main source of attention so far is midfielder Andriy Yarmolenko who costs 7.0 million in the McDonald’s game. Interest is ripe in the Dynamo Kyiv left-footer as he has scored 5 times in his last 9 international matches and bagged 30 goals for his club in his 84 first team appearances. His most recent international match saw him get 2 assists in Austria on Friday.

At 6.5 million, we have Oleh Gusev who has 4 goals in Ukraine’s last 3 matches and is statistically Ukraine’s most in-form player heading into the tournament. He also took the team’s last spot-kick which increases his appeal further. Anyone looking for a differential can seriously consider this guy; his ownership is at just 0.7% compared to Yarmolenko’s 6.3%.

If you’re looking for something even cheaper, then midfielder Yevhen Konoplyanka might be a decent pick. Many believe he won’t be part of the first choice 11, but having started Ukraine’s last 6 games, there’s every chance that he’ll get his fair share of minutes in Group D. He also managed 2 goals in those 6 games so has a proven eye for goal and may even prove to be an out of position prospect as a forward. It will only cost you 5.5 million to acquire his services.

Finally, how could I write about Ukrainian football without the inclusion of Andriy Shevchenko? The 2004 Ballon d’Or winner will of course be predominantly remembered for his incredible career at AC Milan and becoming the third-highest scorer in the history of European club football. However, since joining Dynamo Kyiv in 2009, his eye for goal hasn’t disappeared; he still managed 23 goals in 53 matches. Looking at his statistics is pointless, though, because with Shevchenko you’re purchasing him based on the fact that he’s captaining a host nation in what will probably be his last major international tournament. Surely, if he’s ever going to resurrect his legendary goal scoring form, it will be this summer? It will cost you 7.0 million if you have a hunch.

    IN SUMMARY

    • The defence in a no-go area but Yaroslav Rakitskiy is the best from a bad bunch due to his added goal threat.
    • Andriy Yarmolenko is the best attacking option and consequently the most popular Ukrainian in the game.
    • Oleh Gusev and Yevhen Konoplyanka both provide cheaper ways into a free-scoring Ukrainian attack.

Ah, The Good, The Bad, The Ugly...my all-time favourite film.

    Let's go through your team:

Given, good, Tzorvas is an uncertain starter. I'd go with Szczczzny at this point.

I don't see the point in the Spanish and French defenders for rd 1. They're up against tough opposition. Kadlec offers further uncertainty with the weakened Czechs. You need some Russkis in there. A cheap Polak wouldn't go amiss either vs goal-shy Greece.

Sneiddy and Ozil apart, I'm not convinced by the other 3 in midpark. Yarmo, Ribery and Shirokov look better picks.

Muller - again uncertain of starts. Prefer Jelface upgainst the Irish.

He was in my group during UCL. He comes up pretty often, and was usually available for banter. Personally, I believe some urgent work must have come up, else he usually drops by everyday.

I think we can take the chance. Of course, on the off-chance, that he doesn't come up by 5th/6th, can we allow for one last entrant (maybe someone who could not find a partner till the very end)?
