Semi Finals – Day One – Dugout Discussion

After a brief three-day hiatus from the Euro 2012 action, we’re raring to go once again as Spain take on Portugal this evening in the first semi-final of the tournament. With only three games left of the competition, there are big decisions to be made by Fantasy managers looking to get that vital edge in their mini-leagues. As always, we’ve opened up the Dugout Discussion ahead of kick-off:

The team news is in and is as follows:

Vicente Del Bosque makes one alteration to Spain’s lineup from the side that saw off France 2-0 in the previous round. It’s a move that will surprise many, with Alvaro Negredo handed the chance to lead the line, as Cesc Fabregas joins Fernando Torres on the bench. Portugal also make a single change but it’s one that had been anticipated. With Helder Postiga due to a hamstring injury, Hugo Almeida is given the lone forward role.

Spain XI: Casillas; Arbeloa, Ramos, Pique, Jordi Alba; Busquets, Alonso, Xavi; Silva, Negredo, Iniesta

Portugal XI: Patricio: Pereira, Pepe, Bruno Alves, CoentrAo; Veloso, Meireles, Moutinho; Nani, Almeida, Ronaldo

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Terrible ball into ronaldo ruined that

Think it was the shot that really ruined it.

Ball played behind him forced him onto his left foot

He had the time to swap to the right, slightly behind ball but CR7 really did not do himself any justice with that.

        🙂

The ball wasn't bad at all. Could have been ahead of him more but that never made Ronny sky the ball into the stands.

It could have been better but still wasn't that terrible a through ball. And Ronaldo had the ball under control to be able to hit the target. It's not as if he can't shoot with his left.

Not another 0-0 decided on penos please. It is boring as hell. Although it would be good for my triple Spanish defense.

Don't remember him much at Benfica but he has become a top player since his move to Madrid. Marcelo struggles to get in the team now and he is not too shabby.

Like Marcelo and Coentrao. Marcelo has some unreal technical skills too. But I agree, Coentrao has really come into his own at Madrid.
