FPL 2012/13 Is Now Open

And we’re off….Having released the Player Price List earlier on this week, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game is now officially up and running for the 2012/13 campaign, allowing us to tinker with our teams ahead of the big kick-off on Saturday August 18:

In conjunction with Tuesday’s revelation, our coverage of the player valuations continues to pick up pace. Having rolled out our analysis of the Goalkeepers and Defenders, we followed that up with a look at the Midfielders earlier this afternoon – no prizes for guessing the Forwards are on tomorrow’s agenda.

For now, though, let’s not waste any further time – our patience has been tested enough. Head off to the official site and get your team registered for the new season, folks, and let the planning begin.

    Just reading Chris Glover's blog "... the ability to earn an assist for winning a free kick may be new (I honestly can't remember last year's rules)." Neither can I. Anyone?

      "In the event of a penalty or free-kick, the player earning the penalty or free-kick gets an assist if a goal is directly scored, but not if he takes it himself, in which case no assist is given."

      I definitely remember reading this phrasing in last year's rules. It's not new.

        Probably in the same place he played for us, in the middle. Good box to box midfielder, still rate him highly and hope he does well at Reading. £4.5m is a bargain imo.

      Yeah but Nelson is at the Olympics with NZ, so may be rested 1st game, he played under Hughes at Blackburn, so should be a regular. Mccartney should be, but small chance he gets rotated on the RB if they buy someone, Stam no idea.

    Going with the Fulham, Sunderland, Wigan rotation which lasts till gw19. Cashley and Lescott my other defenders.
    I don't know who I really want in my midfield tbh.
    Up front, I've only got Bent thus far.

    Going to avoid any Utd attackers for now anyway, Rooney is the only safe bet, will be Rotation between Nani/Valencia/Young/Kagawa/Chico/Welbeck so beware to see how things pan out first few weeks.

      Ronney is definitely the only safe bet.

      I think Tony V will start on the right and then its up in their between Nani/Young on the left and either Kagawa behind Rooney or Chico or Welbs partnering.

          Nah, just making an insignificant comment. I like to keep my FFS use private from mates/colleagues so have entered my 'brothers' team into the league. Said team will have some serious flair to it.
