Fantasy Football is returning to our Friday night TV courtesy of a new show – The Fantasy Football Club.

We’re delighted to be amongst the first to announce the news that Sky Sports are launching a weekly show on Friday nights from 10-11pm, hosted by “Fenners” (pictured above) and Paul Merson.

The first episode will go out live on August 17 on Sky Sports HD and will mark the return of Fantasy Football to a TV audience following the demise of Baddiel and Skinner’s Fantasy Football League way back in 1996.

The Fantasy Football Club will feature celebrity guests each week, with analysis of their Fantasy lineups and the key Fantasy Football topics amongst the discussion. No really, we’ve been promised.

The Sky Sports’ own Fantasy Football game will, not surprisingly, feature throughout with a focus on the leaders and top teams. Fantasy Football Scout are supporting the game with our own league this season – details on how to join our league can be found below.

We’ll also be getting exclusive access to the team behind The Fantasy Football Club prior to the first airing, with more details to come before the August 17 kick-off. In the meantime, you might want to follow the show on Twitter right here.

And no, before you ask, I’m not the new “Statto”.

The Sky Sports Scout League

Sky Sports Fantasy Football is free to play and offers a raft of prizes, including £25,000 to the winner.

Fantasy Football Scout also has an official Sky Sports Fantasy Football League with a prize of a Samsung Blu Ray home cinema system worth up to £600 on offer.

Register your Sky Sports team and then join our “FFScout” league – the Pin is 8004519.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Anyone cosidering Oscar at 8.5? I'm doubling up in GW1 with Hazard +1 other Mid.

Is Oscar worth a punt or stay safe with Frank?

What's his scoring record like? Because I know he's a No.10 for Brazil but in the game vs. Team GB he was playing a deep pivote type role, just keeping things ticking over. If that's the plan (and with Mata, Hazard and Marin in more advanced roles - it could be) then he'd be over-priced at 8.5 fpl wise IMO

Oscar is a very versatile player. He can play pretty much anywhere in the midfield, but I think Chelsea will mainly utilise him as a central midfielder, similar to Lampard's role at the moment.

Am I likely to suffer having a 3 team 4.0 defence rotation as well as my two big hitter defenders? Should I be putting more money into my defence?

      The only risk with that method is;

      1) If your big hitter gets injured you must use a transfer immediately to switch him out.
      2) If your big hitters play a big team you might have issues. (look at the fixtures and check)
      3) Your reliant on the big defences.

However, its cheap and works pretty well

      Well, if you have 4m x 3 + 6.5m x 2, that equals 25m.

My strategy is to analyse very good rotational cover, and get 4 x 4.5m/5m defenders and one biggy.

I'm spending 25m doing that. And the opposition my defence is up against each gameweek works out as:

      gw1: NOR SWA wig/REA
      gw2: swa nor NEW
      gw3: AVL FUL whm
      gw4: WBA nor qpr
      gw5: NOR SUN STK
      gw6: rea qpr WHM
      gw7: sou wba NOR
      gw8: sun AVL SOU
      gw9: WBA rea wig
      gw10: EVE REA swa

My last attempt was blighted by fixture problems between weeks 4-8, so i overhauled and focused on fixtures... And then had to adjust significantly for budget reasons.. here we go... Its abit different...

Federici / Jaas > Cheapest starting pair (i think), Reasonable Rotation
Warnock / Williams (Swa) / Hangeland / Tierny / Cuellar > Cheap & Cheerful. Fixture friendly.
    N'Zogbia / Bale / Sinclair / Kagawa / Guthrie > Fairly Strong (i hope). Fixture friendly.
    Bent / Aguero / Torres (>Rooney WK2) > 3 Big hitters. Yum,.

Advice? N'Zogbia is a risk but the risk here i think, but Villas fixtures are just too tempting to miss out on.

    de gea / jussi
    hangeland / cashley / coloccini / gunter / clyne
    hazard / bale / mcclean / noble / maloney
    aguero / torres / graham

with 2m in bank for torres -> rooney

    generic, surely, but perhaps decent?

IS ANYONE else worried about only having 2.0 in the bank not being enough to do Torres to Rooney.

Ideally i would like to wait untill i see Torres play both games in the DGW... but if Roo scores and Torres doesnt in the first game, we will see lots of transfers in and drive his price up leaving is fuggered...

    ALSO

Terry and Lescott or Kompany and Cole.....?

Im leaning towards the first as Terry just seems to score more goals and BP..?

You just do your transfer right away, you dont have to wait for the second game if he was shite in the first.

You can do the transfer as soon as GW1 has begun, before prices are updated.

Or, alternatively , just not bother with Torres and get Rooney from day ,1 on the basis that Rooney against a traditionally Akos starting Everton could outscore Torres even on a dgw?

    Okay first draft!

    Federici/Begovic
    Clichy Fabio Rafael A.Cole Cuellar
    Hazard Kagawa Yaya Noble Britton
    Pog Torres Augero

I have an exra 2mil for the 2nd GW depending on the performances, but most probably it would be to get Rooney in for GW2 or maybe GW3..
