Another piece in the Fantasy Football Scout jigsaw for the new season was restored this evening, with the Set Piece Takers table published and added to the top menu bar.

Andy has rinsed through all the Premier League clubs and added details for all the Penalty, Direct Free Kick and Corner/Indirect Free Kick takers. When it comes to Penalties and Free Kicks, the players are listed according to the current perceived pecking order.

As we get more data from the pre-season matches, we’ll be refreshing the table accordingly. Plus, once the season starts, we’ll be keeping this table up to date to reflect any changes and pecking order shuffles for each team.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I can't understand why they same people who pick hazard say that kagawa is not proven.

    - kagawa took dortumnd on his back for two years in a row to win the German super competitive strong league, against the the significantly reacher Bayren munic.
    - hazard played in a much weaker league - his team could probably not get I to the top 4 in the German league.

    - kagawa slots in for a 37 back from retirement guy with little other competition over his starting position
    - hazard has mata, Ramirez, lampard and Oscar as threats to his game time - he will need to be very good from the get go to be nailed on. If anyone thinks that number 10 for the brazil team (Oscar) is not as good or better than hazard then he should think again. It's a Matter of time.

    - kagawa passes go to rooni, hazard to Torres. Nuf said.

          Welbeck/Hernandez/Cleverley/Anderson/Young(can play that position)

Also as pointed out Kagawa's place has nothing to do with Scholes, so that shows you don't seem to know enough about football to be talking to people in the way you are. Douche!

Hey now. I was trying to talk with respect and I apologize if I failed.
I'm aware of the diffences but sometimes scholes was playing ahead of carrick with two wingers and two forwards - kagawa will not play the same role of course but will eventually have scholes place in the starting 11 - or welbacks - depends on the formation SAF decides to go with.

Kagawa had good players beside him at Dortmund, u can't say he was carrying the team. Dortmund was beaten home and away by marseille in last year's C1 by the way so ligue1 might not be as bad as you think.
Hazard is different class and he did carry Lille to a league title and 2 C1 quals. He's the better player by a mile. Time will tell but I think he'll have fun in the EPL.

Read the post on the previous page about having Rooney Aguero & Torres and then downgrading one. I've just tried it an it is madness in my opinion. Your whole squad suffers as a result of one player.

True to an extent. Then again, midfielders tend to score higher than forwards, so might be better to spread the wealth.

[for instance, last season: players over 150 point, Middies = 10, fwds = 5]

True, but the very top scorers have tended to be forwards in recent years - and I can't see any of the midfielders this year coming with returns similar to the Lampard and Ronaldo in past years.

Yeah, to get Michu instead! Why are you not a fan of taking a punt on Michu?

Also, I really wouldn't be surprised if Nolan heavily outscores Noble. I may still end up with both of them in my starting line-up.

I fully expect Nolan to outscore Noble. West Ham won't get enough pens to stop that happening.

I'll likely have 1 Premier League new boy in my team.... not sure who that will be though. Leaning towards Kagawa at the moment

Hmmm not bad, definitely something to consider, i just wouldn't be happy going in with that defence, no matter how good the fixtures are. Is that really better than something like this?

I'm not sure, it's definitely something to think about. It all really comes down to how much I want Rooney, and the answer at the moment is: quite a lot.

Also toying with an idea that Daniel mentioned a few days ago (don't worry I'd already had the idea before he mentioned it, I'm not copying him!) of making transfers to have two from Torres/Aguero/Rooney in the first three weeks, as well as a cheap option like Graham. Would enable you to avoid the difficult fixtures each has in the first three weeks:

              GWK 1: Rooney - eve
              GWK 2: Aguero - liv
              GWK 3: Torres - N/A

Thing is, Rooney and Aguero will probably score even in those difficult games, and it will all have been for nothing. Also don't particularly like having no real flexibility with my early transfers, if anything else goes wrong - and it's very likely - then I'd have to take a point hit to resolve it.

But it's still something to think about.. That extra 5 or so million could be very helpful.

Too many transfers for my liking. I am tempted by Silva over Aguero as realistically, i'll only captain Aguero 1 time in 5 GWs.

Some players are so wrongly priced it means there is no point in them being in the game....

Unless they move, for example, none of these are likely to start, not even worth a punt due to price...

    Carroll 8.5m
    Malouda 7.5m
    Sturridge 8m
    Balo 9m
    Dzeko 7.5m
    Chico 8m
    Berb 7m
    Merieles 6.5m
    Bennyooooom 6.5m
    AJ 7m
    Chamakh 6m

Why would anyone pay these prices? 😕 Real punts are not an option, they should make players who are not likely to start £3m...... Now that would be fun... and bad for the casual... 😉

There don't really seem to be any standout bargains in the game this season. Midfielders are priced down on the whole, but I wouldn't say any of them are complete bargains.

    Freidel Federici
    Hughes Wilson Cuellar Demel Fonte
    Hazard Silva Maloney Noble Dyer
    Rooney Torres Aguero

a lot of punts in there, but hoping for big scores from Hazard, Silva, Rooney, Torres and Aguero. Planning on bringing in a Tottenham player for one of my Chelsea players gw2 depending on performance in gw1.

Very, very similar to one of the teams I'm currently eyeing up..

I'm not going to look myself, but I assume the rotation between those five defences work well, so that you have 3 defenders with a decent fixture virtually every week?

      Is Hughes nailed on though?

from what I have heard Hughes is expected to be the starting centre back beside Hangeland. Sunderland, Stoke and Fulham rotate very well yes, haven't looked too much into West Ham and Southampton but they seem ok on first glance. Anyway if it turns out a disaster I plan to wildcard early on, but lets hope not.

But they have the best fixtures out of anyone - possibly with the exception of Swansea, in the first five weeks!

Fixtures > Form*, you know it. 😉

*not that anyone has any 'form', but you know what I mean.

This is exactly why you always thought Torres would do well. Of course there is form.

No, Cole and Maiga are first options or Vaz Te. But sam Baldock is great, i woulde love to see him in the line up and get a chance.

With Mata now thrown in the mix i'm tempted to ditch Hazard and get in Torres...

no team talking from me while I'm on my FPL break. Will happily comment on other's team and engage in discussion. But in order to resist the temptation to tinker I'm trying not to get too heavily involved in much else. I posted generic discussion topics today, nothing about my own team

Aye, although there's a chance I'll end up with both if RDM hints at Mata starting the season properly.

Hazard, along with Aguero and Torres, are pretty much the only players who've been ever present in all my draft teams.

The fixtures thing....at the start of last season anyone who had Swansea and Norwich in their first few games had good fixtures (you could probably include Newcastle too and Liverpool would have been a bad fixture).

You really have to take your own view on how the opening couple of rounds will pan out and then just base your team on that imo. Of course the DGW makes this a little easier!

Thing is, I plan to wildcard as early as before week 4 - by which time the transfer window will have closed, starting XIs will be much more predictable, form (both for players and teams) will be starting to become apparent. So, for me at least, it makes sense to pick an initial team with very favourable opening fixtures, to maximise my chances of points in the early weeks.

There are plenty of players that I think will have good seasons, and are good value, but I'm avoiding to begin with because of fixtures. When it comes round to wildcarding, these players will come into consideration and I'll move away from a squad geared towards the short term fixtures.

I'm gonna try stay away from my wildcard until deeper into the season, even if it means some big hits. My point was what may seem to be 'very favourable fixtures' may only turn out be favourable, and fixtures that pre-season look bad might be okay.

Fabio --> Gunter/Marriapa. More than likely won't play him but if you have to he's safe to play in case you have no other choice.
