    couldn't agree more. However I can offer a simple explanation regarding the punters - The people who are purchasing Fonte are let's face it not going to actuallly play him for 3 of their first 4 at least. However after this if it is established that Clyne is going to be a starter and on top of this is playing OOP and picks up any attacking returns in this time period, the punters who went for Clyne from GW1 will be absolutely laughing as not only will they not need to waste a free transfer, they will be rolling in the $$ from everybody jumping on the band wagon - so I can see their logic but I personally have gone for Fonte 🙂

Defenders are a key choice so early on, and I can see two potential minefields:

1. City's pursuit of Agger shows they are in the market for a new centre back. If it is Agger, or someone of similar quality, then Lescott is at significant risk

2. Chelsea in the market for a new right-back potentially puts Ivanovic at risk, or less of a viable option.

I've done a bit of rework on my team over the past few days. I've been going for set pieces over good squads and I don't seem to have any United cover until after the DGW going Torres > Rooney...

I've basically narrowed it down to 2 options:

a)

Federici Jaask
Cashley Hangeland Fabio Cuellar Gorkss/Demel/Clyne
Hazard Bale Silva Michu Noble
Petric Torres Tevez

b)

DDG Federici
Cashley Hangeland Rangel Cuellar Gorkss

    Can't believe so many people want Lampard. Yes he takes penalties but I'd never include a CDM, especially with the attacking talent Chelsea have this year.

      The thinking is that he's probably more likely to start the DGW games, he's on pens, kicks, and corners. For cheaper.

        I see the appeal, I'd be worried about the downside. Would be nice if someone was able to show how much value pens/freekicks/corners actually add to the points

  I'm just not a real believer in Sess ... but that's really not based on much in reality, I guess. Sorta feel that McClean's almost as good for cheaper.

  Not sure about the GKs and I think Sess is overpriced.
  I'd probably go Davis -> DDG and Sess -> Pienaar

    The extra points gained in the GK range aren't worth the extra spend. GK's give you the worst points per pound, so I'd take any 9.0 rotation, but I'm not really interested in the big name keepers.

        11 points per pound extra spent on GK's
        
        vs 18 defenders, 14 midfielders and 15 forwards
        
        (what this means is that for everyone 1m spent you should get an extra 11/18/14/15 points over the season)

I have not seen Szczesny in any teams on these posts but am seriously considering him as cover for Arsenal defence. I know Jenkinson is cheap but not sure how long he'd be in the team for.

Any comments on Szczesny???
