Has a stitched Wayne Rooney made things simple? Have we already got the template attacking lineup? Certainly Robin Van Persie’s goal, coupled with the injury to Rooney that looks to have sidelined him for a month, suggests that the source of attacking points at United is settled. Unless, of course, you’re committing to the slick trickery of Shinji Kagawa over Van Persie’s pure goal power.

City’s Carlos Tevez surely has another spot up front reserved for him and, while Fernando Torres is doing his upmost to cling to our affections, Eden Hazard’s irresistible form surely means that we have a preferred route to Chelsea’s flowing attacking points.

After just two weeks, a combination of Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard appears to give the very best coverage of potentially the three most potent teams in the league.

You can argue around this – Kagawa, Samir Nasri and Torres all offer the alternatives but, right now, while these words are typed, I’m struggling to see past this new holy trinity as the most powerful combination.

Throw in Michu, Steven Pienaar or Mauroanne Fellaini – perhaps dabble with Danny Graham up front while Swansea’s fixtures remain favourable, or even Emmanuel Adebayor to cover Tottenham’s attacking threat, and the template after Gameweek 2 begins to look solid.

As we discussed in the ScoutCast this week, there will be new names emerging that will threaten to break the ideas we have now but, in all honesty, it’s difficult to see Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard being anything other than season keepers; barring injury.

It can’t really be that simple and yet the twist of fate that saw Rooney first benched and then stretchered down the tunnel, almost rubber-stamped matters. There will surely be thousands scrambling for Van Perise, even more suitors for Hazard after another bout or returns from this evening’s victory. Meanwhile, Tevez has Liverpool in his sights tomorrow with a clear run of appearances while Sergio Aguero recuperates.

If you currently sit on all three, congratulations; please fight back the smugness. If you’ve none of the above, cling to the hope that there’s naivety in these words and that these power houses will falter. Either that, or scrub up for some serious squad surgery.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

right agonising over transfer plans which one is best please vote

    A) cashley to rangel then lampard to hazard pre gw 4
    B) lamps to michu now getting price rises, cashley to rangel pre gw4 with money to upgrade yaya toure or bale to hazard

B, because it gives you the most flexibility for whatever may happen GW3, and you'll have enough to do your Hazard transfer even if he rises (if you're still set on it at that point).

A keeps your team distribution more consistent, but you could lose .3m - .5m by doing it if michu and hazard have big transfer activity this week.

    Fed / Jaask

    Ivan / Zab / Vert – Demel/Clyne

    Bale / Lampard / Michu / Pienaar – Kaca

    Graham / Torres / Tevez

I’ve got 3m in the bank and 2 FT’s left.

Not sure what to do now.

Lampard > Kagawa I’ll probably do, give Bale another week and if he still isn’t delivering I’ll get Hazard in.

Not sure whether to keep Torres or not now.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers lads.

I thought the same the moment he gave a numerical figure after the match. He did something similar for Evans. If anything there is more incentive to lie about this, as missing Rooney would reduce the number of ways United could play. Fergie the physio. Fergie the liar more like.

I'm actually hoping to hold on so I can make two freebies next week. I have Kagawa, not RVP, a fact that scares me. 3 Swans and 2 Everton :). But as said below, their fixtures ARE tasty, and the only benefit of bringing Hazard in now would be to avoid paying more later. But if I do wait, I may wait forever and never bring him in...

well, either of them are worth getting in now imo....but for point hits?i'm not sure, esp for hazard as he is having blank gw.....if i must though, i might just pick michu instead and hoping for the best....but i'd rather do any of those transfers without any hit

    Ridgewell + Gibbs ➡ Boyce + Rafael?

(it's not FPL, so no -4 penalty, and salaries are different)

The dust is starting to settle, an my heads working over time! here are my thoughts.
    .
Hazard is a must.. Michu is a great value mid. Kagawa looks decent. RVP in now Rooney is out. Torres looks to be improving an is the main striker at Chelsea..
Carzorla wait an see tomorrow but very good first game. Teves is more nailed with aguero out. Tottenham look a bit shakey AVB has alot of work to do think ill stay away for a while.. Liverpool poor start stay away. Everton looking very strong any of Pienaar an Fellaini have started on fire

Im not doing to bad but i want some of these players in an fast

    Link updated.

FYI I am one of those idiots who has brought Hazard in already. I'm sorry but the guy is in incredible form and could be FPL gold.

    - He will continue to rise thanks to casuals and idiots like me.
    - I already like my team for GW3 and have Clyne as a sub.
    - I don't like losing value especially when I have already done so, for that reason Mata had to go now.
    - I'm prepared to take a 4pt hit should he get injured or stranded on a desert island etc in the meantime.

Sound. Maybe Ba ahead of Cisse and splash the cash elsewhere.

i'd perhaps just do rooney. i have nolan and i'm keeping him for next gw....he is playing at home against fulham, he looks promising for west ham set pieces

I am not sure P. Cisse is worth the 9.5m, maybe look at Ba or Ade.

what price do you think Sahin will start at? 7.5 - 8.5 ? doubt very much ppl would bring him in instantly "atleast" but just a general question..

I honestly don't know. I'm always curious at how FFS articles come to their estimates for FPL pricing, they are generally very good.

Back of the envelope calculation - apparently FPL price based on expected points for the season. Sahin is a decent shout for assists and even the odd goal, being a deep lying playmaker. 7.0?

This is taking into account him being at Liverpool (price lower) and Allen being priced at 5.5.

Generic price for such new arrivals (Kagawa, Cazorla, Oscar, Podolski) is around 8.5m.

Considering the team and their finish last season I'd guess 8m (I doubt it will be 7.5m unless FPL feel generous).
