We got quite a lot of buck for our bang last week as Michu’s deft touch beyond the grasp of Hammers’ keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen helped secure our 15/2 wager with Paddy. A cool £34 better off , we’ll have a few weeks of free stakes before we have to dip back into the Flutter fund at least… but we’re here to earn, not to fritter…

The first of this week’s money makers is Hatem Ben Arfa. Rested for Newcastle’s midweek Europa league fixture, Ben Arfa delivered the goods in the opening game of the season against Spurs and will be looking to take advantage of Aston Villa’s miserable run of results this weekend. Stepping up and calmly slotting a pen passed Brad Friedel on the opening day, Alan Pardew might well have him take more of the dead ball opportunities, further increasing his probability to make the score-sheet. Paddy are offering 5/1 for a Ben Arfa goal and a Toon clean-sheet, which we’ll be confidently taking a fiver on.

Carlos Tevez has moved firmly into the focus for many Fantasy managers with fellow Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero laid up. A slimline tonic for City so far this season, Tevez’ trickery is slicing through defences, and he looks equally impressive in black and white of the stats. His near guaranteed pitch time and we’re struggling to see QPR to keeping him out, making 9/2 for him making a brace and City to get a cleanie a worthy punt. Mark Hughes’ outfit seem to be bringing in players from all over Europe, their intent for a top half of the table finish is clear. It may well be too early for them to gel, but the risk caps our bet to only £2 on Tevez.

Last but not least we take a look at former Bolton and Newcastle favourite, Kevin Nolan. Although his goal in the opening fixture was not one for the scrapbook, his solid contribution going forward from midfield certainly justifies his bargain Fantasy price. With Fulham’s star player Moussa Dembele now a resident at White Hart Lane, the could be short on stern tackling and midfield control, giving Nolan a chance to harass in the box. Paddy suspect Fulham will make a respectable showing – pricing a Nolan goal and a Hammers clean-sheet at 12/1 – we’re more than willing to risk our remaining £3 on that.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Can I just ask what's the consensus view on Berbatov when he was a United player? In terms of playing style whether suitable to United's play, whether he was worth the £30m, etc.

He was the premierships top scorer a few few seasons back then didn't get a stat the next season. From memory, great first touch, no pace so relied on positioning sense, needs to play with another striker..... He'll go ok at fulham

his hold up play and ability to create for a second nippy striker was terrific.
he and rooney were not a good pairing.
he's now a bit older and hasn't played regular first team football for awhile now.
he's a watch for me at the mo.

    Dear Charles N'Zogbia,

You are a major disappointment to me and every fpl player who ever owned you since you left Wigan. You owe it us 'managers' (read idiots) who thought you may rediscover your lost knack for being a regular fpl contributor under Paul Lambert at AVFC to score a goal at Newcastle this week. I know you love scoring against your old clubs don't you. Time to do it again and ruin Newcastle's clean sheet in one foul swoop!
Keep your chin up if Lambert's rotation means you are starting on the bench, you will be called upon so be ready.

Just noticed the Scout has Fletcher out until 15/09 due to lack of match fitness... Anyone know anymore on his condition? Did he not start season for Wolves?

The small bits I've found are that he should play:

My quest for the best fantasy differential Mids(besides Maloney) for the next 6 gw is slowly coming to an end I have narrowed it down to: McClean and Nolan.
Honorable mentiones go to HBA, Adam Johnsonn, Pienaar, Brunt.
Who would you go for between the 2 or if any of the last 5 than please try to reason your answer

Johnson, home town boy, fire in his belly (probably mixed with beer), ready to roll... great differential. Go for him.

    PLEASE HELP!

What do you guys think about Darren Bent?!

Aston Villa have got some easy fixtures coming up and he is their penalty taker.

    Thanks! 🙂

How thoughts have changed in 3 weeks. Pre season everybody was raving about how good his value was where as now he's a waste of time.

He's a 'watch list' player for now IMO.
