“A template” – something that serves as a model for others to copy.

Thanks to the painful international break, we’ve had a testing fortnight during which time we’ve appeared to witness a trend that has seen the birth of a “cookie cutter” Fantasy lineup – much to the frustration of those quick to seize on the merits of Eden Hazard, Michu and company.

Back from our enforced holidays, Granville and I aren’t exactly international bright young things – more jaded, grizzled old grumps who are hoping that somebody steps forward to shake things up. As long as it’s not Gareth Bale – I sold him for Michu. Yeah, busted: I’m as bad as the rest of ‘em.

Wildcard played before the break, I attempt to get Granville to admit its failure, whilst thanking him for his calming words which cooled my boots as my finger hovered over the squad refresh button. I still can’t quite work out why he talked me out of it – a cunning long term strategy perhaps? Surely not?

Break the mould by listening in via this link or use the handy player below to stream the goodness…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I think he'll play in a 3-5-2, seems to suit the way Stoke play, 3 centre-backs to block off the long balls.

Look, sorry about the Zurich thing, the novelty just got to me. Bu the question is serious. I remain tempted to shift HBA to Cazorla for a hit. The logic is that Caz plays Southampton this weekend, I want him in my team anyway, and I can get HBA back next week for Pienaar (with a Zab switch as well for another -4).

The obvious retort is that I can just sit tight, save transfers, have piennar for GW6 (doing an Ivan-Baines switch as well), and then get Caz in for no hit in GW7. The only reason I keep stewing on the former plan is that I really think Caz will do something this weekend. Will someone please talk me down from this ledge?

A hit means you need at least a goal to turn a profit.

Are you so confident he'll score?

If so, i'd back the anytime goalscorer instead and keep my fantasy side free from points hits 🙂

There are some things money can't buy - 4 points in FPL is one of them (Imagines Jack Davenport saying this...)

I've seen that logic before and it actually doesn't mean that - taking a hit means your selected player (or players if you manage to make other useful transfers with the money you saved because of the initial transfer) have to outscore the player(s) you transferred out during a period which is as long as the transfered in player is in player is in your squad + (-4p).

You gain +1 point if you transfer in a player who will get 3 points for 5 games in a row had you chosen to stick with a player who will only get you 2 points for 5 games in a row. And if you manage to save some funds doing that you can spend it elswhere and increase your expected value.

I compared Lambert and Berba over the last match. Double his stats, as he played half the minutes and he almost has double the creativity and a little more threat. It's based on few stats, but if you look at Fulham's team stats, you can see their attack is one of the most threatening in the league.

Can you guys really see him dropped for sunderland? I can't he is just too good and relationship with the Sunderland coach is good. Looks like Oneil was just showing respect for Trappatoni and trying to make McClean realize that it is time to shut up and take it like a man. Just as I see it. He's not a player I rate much at all, however he is nailed on to play and I quite like the delivery he'll get from Harte and the Reading wingers. He's certainly not a stranger to large goal droughts through his career though and it's not difficult to see why.

    Hey folks.

Front 8 is this at moment.

    Kagawa - Cazorla - Michu - Pienaar - Kacalanic
    Tevez - RVP - Graham.

Can afford Kagawa to Hazard before he goes up.
    But will cost 4 points.

    Do it or not?
