The recent rise of Marouane Fellaini has presented the latest forceful bandwagon for Fantasy managers. Huge acquisition levels in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game this week has seen the Belgian’s price rise from 6.9 to 7.2, and this from an initial valuation of 6.5 at the start of the campaign.

Felliani’s merits are hard to ignore – three goals and an assist in his opening five fixtures are numbers compounded by a new role playing in support of Everton’s central striker. The 6 foot four inch unit has taken to it with ease, using his size to rattle defences and his unerring ability to chest trap a long flighted pass to provide a platform for waves of Everton attacks. He’s often been described as “unplayableâ€.

And yet, David Moyes’ men are awash with form players and talent right now. Not least in midfield where Steven Pienaar’s dazzling quick feet and sharp mind are weaving patterns that have had defences on the back foot. He’s also enjoyed a superb start to the campaign with a goal and three assists to his name. In any other team, Pienaar, with his mid-price value of 6.7 in the FPL, would be a shoo-in. Fellaini’s rise has dented the appeal of the South African playmaker – with their see-sawing form looking to have finally settled the way of the Belgian, it’s been Fellaini that has attracted all the recent transfer attention.

Are we dismissing Pienaar too lightly? Perhaps his form actually warrants doubling up on Everton’s midfield assets given the fixtures that lie ahead? We look to answer these and other questions in this latest article for our members, in which we rummage around in the statistics so far, to analyse the best approach to Everton’s current embarrassment of riches.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I have three questions on starting line-up:

    1) Play Noble (qpr) or Maloney (sun)?
    2) Which one to play of Cashley (ars), Hangeland (MCI) and Demel (qpr)
    3) Considering the answer to 2, which to play of Cech (ars) and Jussi (qpr)

Curious to know what people think on here...

Doubling on Chelsea at the expense of West Ham though? Isn't it better to hedge bets and go for one of each?

Thanks for the answers. I was on Noble, Cashley, Jussi, then Tosey made me think when he said I should play Hangeland, so wanted to see what others thought.

I would definately not double up on Chelsea. Can't see them keeping a clean sheet against an Arsenal side in goalscoring form.

Also, City 'have' to win now or they risk losing ground to the rest of the pack. They won't take this game lightly so i think the chances of a Fulham cleanie are slim.

Hangeland can score on corners, but I would fancy Cashley more to sneak an assist...

I see the attraction of Ba. Lambert however plays for the worst team in the league. He'll be lucky to reach double figures in goals.

Worst team in the league is very harsh. Forget their defensive record, they've scored 9 goals in 5 games, including 5 goals against City, United and Arsenal. I'd say Lambert will do just fine for goals this season.

Please can I have some opinions

    For this weekends games

    Play Jenkinson or Demel ?

Also - Whether to play 3 4 3 with Tevez RVP Fletcher up front or put nolan in as a fifth mid and drop a forward.

    Team :

    Jaas (Cerny)
    Baines McAuley Demel (Jenkinson) (Bertrand)
    Michu Hazard HBA Pienaar (Nolan)
    Fletcher Tev RVP

    Cheers 🙂

I think their's a difference between 'hot' and 'beautiful'.

A fat lass can be beautiful, but she will never be hot no matter how nice her face is.

since anichebe is in good form and Jelly is back

i think that Moyes could play both of them and give Fellaini deepier role

Anichebe is not in form at all. The guy has scored 1 goal with his last 15 shots that is worse than Suarez. It is the Everton team that is in formm Jelly would have had 2-3 had he played in the last games.

I agree regards him able to play that role, however did so at Leeds and was very poor, looked disinterested at times.

        - - - Neville - - - Osman - - -
        Mirallas - - Fellaini - - Pienaar
        - - - - -Anichebe / Jelavic - - - -

        This is more likely, imo.

Didn't he play that role for all these years? You don't feel this position suits him better?

Title might be too far this season. But they'll have a very good season nonetheless.

I would consider Aguero, I would probably donwgrade Ba, I don't think you need both he and HBA, although you could also downgrade Ben Arfa if you really like Ba. I dunno about Huth. He seems overpriced. Especially when Gibbs/Rafael/Evans are less than .5 more, I would try to find that money somehow.

How come Ba is lower down the watchlist then Fletcher, Jelavic and Lambert? Seems a bit odd to me! I know Jelavic has the fixtures but he is hardly in form and is 8.5. Lambert is for all the bells and whistles, more of a Holt like FPL player then a Ba..

Ba has form, okay fixtures and good history.

    Just a thought.

Under that reasoning, I would have thought Defoe would be below him on the list then, as he is a rotation risk. Hell Fletcher is likely to pull something as Ba is to play on the left at the moment 🙂

But you could be right on the why. Just think it's a strange one.
