The recent rise of Marouane Fellaini has presented the latest forceful bandwagon for Fantasy managers. Huge acquisition levels in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game this week has seen the Belgian’s price rise from 6.9 to 7.2, and this from an initial valuation of 6.5 at the start of the campaign.

Felliani’s merits are hard to ignore – three goals and an assist in his opening five fixtures are numbers compounded by a new role playing in support of Everton’s central striker. The 6 foot four inch unit has taken to it with ease, using his size to rattle defences and his unerring ability to chest trap a long flighted pass to provide a platform for waves of Everton attacks. He’s often been described as “unplayableâ€.

And yet, David Moyes’ men are awash with form players and talent right now. Not least in midfield where Steven Pienaar’s dazzling quick feet and sharp mind are weaving patterns that have had defences on the back foot. He’s also enjoyed a superb start to the campaign with a goal and three assists to his name. In any other team, Pienaar, with his mid-price value of 6.7 in the FPL, would be a shoo-in. Fellaini’s rise has dented the appeal of the South African playmaker – with their see-sawing form looking to have finally settled the way of the Belgian, it’s been Fellaini that has attracted all the recent transfer attention.

Are we dismissing Pienaar too lightly? Perhaps his form actually warrants doubling up on Everton’s midfield assets given the fixtures that lie ahead? We look to answer these and other questions in this latest article for our members, in which we rummage around in the statistics so far, to analyse the best approach to Everton’s current embarrassment of riches.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Sorry want more replies as having podcastesque debate with my mate!!
basically im considering taking a hit to bring out hazard for gerrard.

    reasoning;
    Hazard
    1) hazard tough fixtures barring norwich game.
    2) form of other midfielders (moses, oscar, mata) affecting hazards game time
    3) think arsenal will beat chelsea this weekend, not had a tough challenge yet apart from atletico and we know what happened there
    Gerrard
    1) not quite hit form yet but well rested could catch fire anytime
    2) pens, fks corners
    3) j shelvey suspended so could well mean a move further forward with sahin in behind him
    4) first decent run of fixtures for liverpool this season and are creating chances so the goals will surely come soon

Thoughts?? Anybody agree or think im an idiot for taking a hit to get hazard out??

I think you might regret that, the Michu transfer, also I'm not sure Lambert will necessarily do that well this week, so you might not break even on your hit if you see what I mean. I can't talk though I took an 8 pointer, Tevez to Fletcher and S Taylor to Baines.

Think I'm selling Tevez this week, trying to decide between Jelavic and Berbatov. Anyone care to help?

I think Jelavic just based on fixtures and team form. I just brought him in a few minutes ago, and am questioning whether he will start this week, but I think it's a much better pick overall.

I actually dropped RVP instead of Tevez though. With Rooney back and CL to consider plus horrid Man U fixtures, I figure I won't get burned too bad, but if I do, I can live with it I think it's the smart thing to do to spread out the value to the rest of my team.

Berbatov's stats are amazing, and he's quite a lot cheaper. Jelavic has amazing fixtures - he may not start this week though. Depends on your other Everton coverage really. But I'd do Berb, I think,

I have 1 FT and £3.3 in the bank.

    What to do?
Was thinking of replacing Tevez? If so, to Berba??

    Foster, Begovic

    Baines, Davies, Demel, Cuellar, Gorkks

Fellaini, Cazorla, Michu, Yaya Toure, Guthrie

    Tevez, RVP, Fletcher

    Need some input

    Howard davis
    mcualy rafael demel cuellar davies
    michu hazard pienaar morrison cazorla
    lambert rvp tevez

Have 0.1m and 2FT so not sure what to do. Here are my options:

A: howard + cuellar + morrison >>> begovic + baines + guthrie (doing this just to get baines in)

B: davies + tevez >> begovic + suarez (doing this coz davies didnt start for saints so shipping him out and the same case with tevez)

C: howard + cuellar + tevez >>> mignolet + baines + berbatov (can bring in baines this way)

    D: tevez + mcualy + howard >> defoe/berba + baines + foster

cant think of any other way to bring in baines..

People talk me into.out of this move. I'm really tempted to do Tevez to Berb for a hit this week. It frees up cash nicely for future plans, and I don't want to have to worry about Mancini rotation all the time. However, it could come back to bite me, especially if Tevez does happen to start this week.

Really really tempted though. It's not just for this week's points, where I may well not make anything back.

Not for a hit. Unless you're super confident that Berbatov will nick a goal and/or an assist against City. Even for a free, I'm holding fire. I don't fancy Berbatov to do much against City.

I've been on a few City forums and a lot of inside talk suggests that City are going to tighten up defensively owing to a change in tactics. Re-assess after the game against BVB midweek. Tevez should start against Sunderland though. Brilliant opportunity for points.

Fair points both. I just had this plan in mind:
This week: Tevez -> Berb (-4)
        Next week: hold
        Week after: Cech/Lambert -> Begovic/Aguero

So whether I do it this week or next, there's gonna be a 4 pt hit over the next 3 weeks. I just fancy Berb to outscore Tevez this week, as the latter may well get 1.

      Kolarov Richards Nasri Dzeko Tevez

These are the tip of M*nkini's baffling, rotator policy iceberg, where he rests his most in form player v the toughest defence in the league, but plays him in the Milk Cup for 120 minutes. I'm out.

So would you do the move for a hit this week then? I trust your judgement. (Not to pile the pressure on or anything...!)

I wouldn't do it. Just do it next week, it's a high risk (Tevez starts and lights it up) with low reward (Berbs gets you 2 points instead of Tevez's likely 1) and it's not like Berbatov's price is going through the roof now. Worst case, you loose .1 waiting until Saturday.

No Arsenal defender on the watchlist. I know Verm is injured but surely you replace him with Gibbs

Yeah, I agree it's a bit odd. They do play Chelsea and have their next 2 games on the road... maybe that's the reasoning.

      A. I did something like that recently. Felt good ditching those 2 points.

do u think this WC is too top heavy?im worried about rotation for rvp and tevez so im debating whether to downgrading attack n upgrading midfield...or do u think its a decent enough team left alone.

    jussi/foster

    baines/lescott/williams/nelson..hangeland or a.hughes

    bale/pienaar/stirling/bannan/noble

    rvp/tevez/suarez

Not sure on your strikers. Tevez is rotation city now Aguero is back, and Suarez, well I just think there's better around.

mate work on the midfield i know liverpool fixtures are good but when it all goes down they mess up more then they deliver....so no need for suarez and stirling. keep one.

id take out williams and get davies to save a 1m
upto u if you wanna kepp joeleen - he may be prone to rotation.

id get rid of suarez, noble and bannan.
          id get berba up front.
And def get carzola - plays 90 mins and is arsenals main man. And depending on whats left get a filler like puncheon

Personally I'd ship Tevez for Berba (getting closer to taking a hit for Tevez -> Suarez myself) and use the cash to upgrade one of your midfielders, probably Noble. He is pretty much guaranteed 2ish pts because of how far back he sits (unless he gets a penalty).

If you have Tevez, I think you have to start him in hope he plays.
