For a second week in a row, our Flutter ambitions were denied at the finishing line. Keving Nolan made his anytime goal, but The Hammers failed to keep Steven Fletcher at bay, whilst an on-fire Eden Hazard was seemingly doused by visitors Stoke City, even though The Blues back-line held firm for the cleanie. We’ve still a couple of tenners profit to play with, but as Paddy starts chipping away at our initial success, we need another decent ride or two to keep our noses in front…

Usually last out of the stalls, our new “Goal-Assist-Cleanie treble” is this weeks front-runner. Robin Van Persie’s hunger for goals has not been dampened by his summer transfer and makes up the first leg of our treble. Our second leg, the assist, comes from the rejuvenated Steven Pienaar. A bit-part player for Spurs, Moyes has made him pivotal to his Everton unit and he’s replied with a goal and three assists so far this term; we fancy him against the visiting Saints. A Sunderland clean-sheet makes up our final leg, and with four low scoring, hard-fought draws so far this season, we feel there’s a good chance of Martin O’Neill’s side keeping out visiting Wigan. Paddy are offering 20/1 for the treble on a Van Persie goal, Pienaar assist and Sunderland clean sheet, and we’re going with a “no guts, no glory” approach with this, throwing £5 on it to try and win £100.

While Pienaar has been on fire this term, it’s been Maouane Fellaini who has been simply irresistible. He’s dominated all but one of the five league games the Toffees have played so far, strong-arming players off the ball and terrorising opponents with his height and technique. If that wasn’t enough, he’s made his mark on the scoresheet, netting three in five. We’re hoping he’ll add to that this week by taking £2 on him to score and Everton to keep a cleanie against Southampton at 4/1.

As we’ve mentioned, Steven Fletcher spoiled our double last week by putting one passed Jussi Jasskelainen at the Boleyn. We’re hopefully turning villain into hero this time around as Fletcher is priced up to score and Sunderland to get a cleanie against Wigan at 9/2. He’s scored ALL of Sunderland’s goals this season so far, so this is a bet we really fancy. As we’ve gone for big risk big reward early on in the Flutter, we’ve only £2 to offer, but considering his scoring record we’re favouring this as our banker.

Last up is the tricky playmaker Santi Carzorla. Arsenal were initially a bit slow to get going but they’ve certainly built up momentum in recent weeks. A 6-1 win in the Capital One cup midweek and a similar scoreline against Southampton two gameweeks past has dispelled fears that without Van Persie, the goals would dry up. Carzorla’s managed three assists and a goal in the league and looks poised to maintain that rate. Paddy are dangling 11/1 for a Cazorla goal and a cleanie against league leaders Chelsea and we’ll have our final quid on that.

    Yaya to Cazorla seemed like a good plan for next week, but now with Tevez probably not starting today and then starting again in the CL, he'll be a rotation risk for next game as well? Or the initial plan looks better?

    Final advice would be nice. Been tinkering with WC team. Just not sure about the fact I have double coverage for some teams:)

    Ruddy (Bego)
    Gibs Cuellar Baines (C) (McAuley n Clyne)
    Santi HBA Fellaini Silva
    Zamora Ba Fletcher

    No rotation risks, though I put in Silva for Yaya and was thinking for Kun upfront
    Last advice much appreciated:)

    With Berba now injured my brain is melting; stick to my original transfer plans (i.e. get in some Everton) or shift Berba? Thoughts on the below options much appreciated:

    A) Berba -> Fletch (C)/Jelly (C)/Lukaku/Lambert
    B) Kagawa -> Pienaar, Cuellar -> Baines (C), -4
    C) Torres -> Fletch/Lukaku/Lambert, McCartney -> Baines (C), -4

            but in order for it to work, Hazard must play norwich first, and silva must be playing centrally

            up front the Tevez to Berb/Podolski move is much more reliable, but it could come back to haunt. im not ditching tevez unless i really have to

        Allen can stay on the bench and he can play 1 keeper for a while (thats what I'm doing as I have Schwarzer and Green so I just play schw every week).

        I'd ship out Tevez as his gametime minutes are now in question. At least you know Torres starts every week as he's the only striker Chelsea have. Defoe is good at the moment.

        Tevez to Fletcher or take a hit to get in Aguero.

    Hey Lads need more feedback!:

    a) Frederici -> Begovic (have Jussi)
    b) Cuellar -> WBA/Stoke defender
    c) Torres -> Ba
    d) Graham -> Lambert

    WHICH ONE?

    Out for:

    B) Fletcher
    C) Someone else?

    Leaning to Fletch, now AJ is back.

        Stick with Torres, or kick his behind out my team?

        I'm struggling with this one, wouldn't be THAT surprised if he scored today....!

    I'm confused, I Hope you can help.

    Rafael is still on the injuries list here,but isn't flagged in FPL. Is he definitely back?

    Still flagged in the Metro game.

    Oh! and Adebayor as well if you know? Many Thanks.

      In Like Flynn, thoughts on Jelavic as a potential differential? Would either bring him in for Tevez(FT) and play him over Dyer.. or play Dyer and bench Tevez. Thoughts?

        I'm not sold on the whole Tevez out thing. But then I couldn't afford to get him back.

        Jelavic has great fixtures for a while and he did seem central to it.

        All in all I'd save it AcquaFresca, but I know a lot here wouldn't. ............ (sorry not any help at all really)

        Jelavic might be a good bet indeed, depends on how many points Fellaini will take off him though, other than that his next fixtures are favourable.

    How to improve the side:

    Begovic (Foster)
    Jenkinson - Cuellar - Baines
    Hazard - HBA - Cazorla - Michu
    RVP (c) - Tevez - Lambert
    Demel, Guthrie, Davies

        0,0m 🙂

        At the beginning of the week I thought of shipping Cuellar out, but now he's likely to make a return to the starting line-up it's probably not worth it. The other candidates are Jenkinson and Davies.

        Maybe this:
        Jenkinson -> 4,5m def
        Guthrie -> Sterling

        That 4,5m def would be Hughes. The downside is that they play City and Senderos is returning to full fitness.

        You're right, though with Jenkinson looking that solid I'd dare to think Wenger waits until his form drops to replace him with Sagna.

        If there was a nailed on Newcastle defender to rotate with Cuellar for a 4,5m, I'd hit the transfer button immediately.

        I don't want to double up offensively on any team now. Good shout with dropping City player. If only Swansea had worse fixtures coming up in the next two GWs, I'd sanction:
        Tevez -> Fletcher
        Michu -> Bale.
