The Gunners show their spirit to come from behind and claim the points at Upton Park, as Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott arrive and Santi Cazorla confirms his class…

On the Up

Olivier Giroud
A first Premier League goal, was capped by the assist for Theo Walcott’s winner. The Frenchman has pedigree in his native country but has yet to convince on these shores. He’ll surely take great confidence from this evening’s performance, however, and Giroud could yet present another enticing option up front.

Santi Cazorla
We kept faith with Cazorla in the Watchlist rankings, settling him in third above his in-form team-mate Gervinho: tonight’s performance demonstrated just why. The Spaniard was, once again, superb and this time delivered on his hugely impressive numbers with a fabulous strike to seal the Arsenal victory.

Theo Walcott
A peripheral figure so far in Arsenal’s season, Walcott’s goal and his assist for Cazola’s effort was a reminder of his potential. Contract negotiations are still ongoing – if Walcott can finally settle, he could yet play a role in our Fantasy seasons. Right now, he’s an option that increases the likelihood of rotation in Wenger’s lineup.

Going Down

The Arsenal Defence
Arsene Wenger brought Per Mertesacker back into his back four, dropping Laurent Koscielny to the bench – a decision likely to have been governed by the threat of Andy Carroll. The Gunners backline have now conceded in the last four and, more significantly, with Bacary Sagna and Wojciech Szczesney set for returns after the international break, there is a great deal of uncertainty in terms of personnel. Thomas Vermaelen appears to be the only assured starter, at least until we know more on Kieran Gibbs’ knock that saw him replaced just before the hour-mark tonight.

Gervinho
Giroud’s returns and Walcott’s showing from the bench signals trouble for owners of the Ivorian. Already he was pushed out wide on the right from the off in this evening’s game, only to be replaced by Walcott after 60 minutes after an ineffectual showing. Gervinho’s starting role is now immediately under increased threat, both as a central attacker and on the flank.

Ricardo Vaz Te
The Hammers striker had been enjoying a buoyant start to the season but this looks to have been derailed this evening by a suspected dislocation of the shoulder. Guy Demel also sustained a knock and his prognosis is likely to be a greater concern for Fantasy managers.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Parmtree and Count - I'm a good Fifa player but this is the first Fifa I've started a FUT in.
I have a 4 star German team atm with around 90 chemistry but I keep coming up against unreal teams.

Any tips apart from the trading ones you've mentioned? 🙂

I started out with the FUT the first time this year, and I was currently in Div 2, and promotion does give you quite a bit of cash. But isn't that the online season?

Hey Parm, is it better to go into the auction to get the players, or just buy the premium gold packs...

This week, when people have asked 'Cazorla or Gervinho?', my answer has always been "Cazorla, I'm certain he's going to start racking up points". Therefore, I'm slightly annoyed I went with Silva over him. Never mind, not a bad week so far.

I didn't until today. We met for a drink or 2 to watch the Arsenal v West Ham game.

Hazard and Johnson to Cazorla and Bale

I think it's timr to accept that Johnson is a failed punt.

Wondering why I got rid. Even if it was for Baines.

Really disappointed with my start, although my team looks good on paper, I'm still languishing in the 300 000ths.

I'm in the 100k area. A few good gw's in the next month will see you right. You can climb the rankings rapidly when you are a bit lower than you would like to be.

So basically if Ruddy wasn't terrible, Ivanovic wouldn't have scored and everybody in my league would have a few less points.

Ruddy terrible? You didn´t see the speed of the shot...

I saw the 'speed' of the shot. I also saw that it pretty much went straight at him and he flapped it into his own goal.

Sorry for repost but thoughts appreciated...Im thinking…

    Hazard > Mata
    Tevez > Aguero

Or does that sound a bit crabby?

My other thought was to do Hazard > Silva and therefore have Silva & Tevez instead.

Sideways moves don't look that pressing to me, if you really want Silva then maybe you should go with your other thought; Tevez/Aguero will probably be much of a muchness.

Ice Cream Kone is looking a really good prospect. Difficult to find a place for him with the likes of Lambert/berbs/Fletcher and with Maloney as a midfield alternative but still looks a real threat.

I will probably get rid too. As he will still be rotated and Silva/Aguero better options also WBA away coming up.
