The Dugout Discussion opens for an action-packed Sunday offering of Premier League action. There’s four games this afternoon, so that’s at least 88 players in action and looking to earn their fantasy managers some much needed points. We start at St. Mary’s where league new-boys Southampton welcome the visit of Martin Jol’s Fulham. The team news is in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Southampton XI: Gazzaniga, Richardson, Yoshida, Fonte, Fox, Puncheon, Schneiderlin, Steven Davis, Lallana, Rodriguez, Lambert.

Fulham XI: Schwarzer, Riether, Hughes, Hangeland, Riise, Kacaniklic, Ruiz, Baird, Sidwell, Duff, Rodallega.

Dead legs keep both Gaston Ramirez and Nathaniel Clyne out of the side, as Southampton make three changes to benefit Daniel Fox, Jason Puncheon and Morgan Shneirderlin.

The visitors are once again without their big summer signing, Dimitar Berbatov, who has failed to recovery from a hip injury that saw him sit out last week’s game. Also missing out is Mladen Petric – a calf problem prevents him from playing today.

After the clash at St. Mary’ is settled, we’re up at the opposite end of the country to see if Newcastle United can produce a repeat performance of last’s season home game against Manchester United.

In and amongst those two games, the rest of the Europa League contingent – Liverpool and Tottenham – have home ties kicking-off at 3pm. Stoke make the trip to Anfield, whilst Aston Villa are in the capital to face Andre Villas Boas’ side.

Keep up-to-date with all of today’s goings on in our Dugout Discussion chatroom, which is open and can be accessed right here.

Clev said after the game that he meant to put the ball there. Early contender for the top 10 of the best goals of the season.

I'm definitely giving RVP the Stoke game if he looks like starting. After that, him & Tevez > Aguero & Whoever will become very tempting.

He';s not worth it. For the amount of money he is and what it limits you into doing with the rest of your team he would be worth it if he was at Arsenal and was the main man like last season.

But at Utd he's just another really good player and subject to rotation too. Wildcarding him out for a better all round team.

Brilliant team on paper but its not translating into FPL points, Valar.

I'm just fed up at the moment. Pish poor ranking and another weak-ass gameweek. Being a QPR fan and feeling already doomed to relegation this early in the season has not lightened my mood.

The pundits are giving out about De Gea. What they are suggesting is that he should have improved at dealing with crosses while he was sitting on the bench the past few weeks. "It's a worry though, isn't it for United, the goalkeeping situation. Lindegaard has been between the sticks recently for some premier league games recently now De Gea gets in there but he doesn't seem to have improved in that direction when he comes to coming to crosses." What do you expect when he's benched?

Wouldn't disagree that crosses give him issue but the bench definitely has a lot to do with it. A player left on the bench for weeks cannot be expected to produce a better performance than previous performances.

Repost in response to Fellaini rising or not over the int. break.

Someone said he's had 2000 transfers out...

They are just reaction transfers, he’s still around 70%. Over the int. break if he scores against Serbia or Scotland and when people realise nearer the next game that Everton have QPR then maybe?? Just I only need a 0.1 rise then I’ll ship him out too.

    I'm very tempted to wc
    My current team is

    Jussi, Fed
    Gunter, Baines, Cuellar, Saylor, Ridgewell
    Caz, Haz, Maloney, McClean, Dyer
    Tevez, Rvp, Lambert

    My wc team could be

    Jussi, Begovic
    Baines, Demel, Rafael, Fonte, Ridgewell
    Pienaar, Bale, Mata, Caz, Maloney
    Torres, Jelavic, Berbatov

    Thanks

Now please correct me if I'm wrong, but:

I use my WC now and transfer in some players who I think will rise in value during the next few weeks. Assuming all my players get injured during intl break, I can still transfer even all of them without point deductions?

It's all well and good trading down RVP, but where are you going to spend the money. There's very little consistency particularly with the big hitting midfielders. I'm not sure where I'd spend the money.

I don't really understand folk trading him out. Man u, with the exception of last season start slow and improve. As they improve, RVP will get more chances. He's probably on pens and man u will get more than anyone else.

Hoping folk will keep getting rid to make it easier for me to get in.

He has still scored or assisted in every start + if he hadn't got a YC he'd be on double figures (captained) and there'd be less transfer talk I bet.
