Reports are starting to surface that the FA will take no further action on a trio of controversial incidents that occurred in the Gameweek gone by. Robin Van Persie’s alleged elbow on Yohan Cabaye at the Sports Direct Arena was reviewed by Howard Webb and was not considered to be an act of violent conduct, meaning the Dutchman will be available for United’s Gameweek 8 home showdown against Stoke.

The decision will no doubt infuriate Alan Pardew – the Newcastle boss called for Van Persie to be banned after yesterday’s 3-0 loss. United subbed off their summer signing just four minutes after the incident, with Pardew certain of the Dutchman’s intent:

“He has looked at Yohan and he has elbowed him, and I think that perhaps needs to be looked at, if I am honest. There’s a bit of history from last year and I don’t know if Robin has been caught up in that, but that was just a little bit unsavoury. I actually thought Yohan wouldn’t have gone down if he hadn’t done something. I didn’t see it myself, but I have obviously seen it on the replay and it looks like he has looked at him and put his elbow there.”

Pardew did receive some good news, however, after Webb also failed to report Cheick Tiote’s apparent stamp on Tom Cleverley in the same match.

Elsewhere, Robert Huth has escaped a possible suspension for violent conduct. The Stoke defender appeared to stamp on Luis Suarez in yesterday’s goalless draw at Anfield but will not have to face the authorities. This somewhat atones for his failed appeal back in February, where the German was slapped with a three-match ban for a tackle on Sunderland’s David Meyler.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I know you just sold him, but I'm looking at Lennon over Bale (for money puposes) but I'm not sure how many points he'll actually get. Looking at your next 2, I'm seriously considering Nolan, especially as my rival no longer has him. Any others spring to mind (not looking at Morrison for next week, maybe to replace Michu). It's to replace Adam Johnson.

Clevs is an interesting one. You know I rate him highly, but as yet he has yet to show me he worth an slot in the midfield. Especially over someone as reliable as Nolan

Is it justifiable to get rid of Ben Arfa and bring in Ba with 2 frees? I think Ba's points will eclipse Ben Arfa's over the next fixtures for Newcastle:

    Just a thought.

Looks like somebody out there isn't on our side!!! Nice news no ban for RVP, Huth and Tiote. On the other hand looks like someone is afraid for the Blues suddenly claiming for the title. Its not according the plan to have both Manchester clubs fighting for it.

Key players like Cashley and JT are banned from FA even though the court said different! I see conspiracy theory there.

On a side note last year when Foy made those mistakes against Chelsea and gave red to Cech the penalties and the others sending off in the League and FA cup went unnoticed and when Spurs win at Old Trafford suddenly he is punished?

Come on. I hate when the battle isn't won on the green field, instead the winner is decided on the green table.

    FA - ...>@$#@#@

Tiote wasn't punished as a returning a favor for RVP not being banned.

They say we will let go RVP and just for the cause Pardew not to appeal a lot we will give him something. End Tiote not punished.

Chelsea are first on the table atm as I see it and are playing well. Someone got scared that is what I've said,. Any wrong in there?

You just seem clueless. Did you read the verdict?- The thing that Terry is charged with by the FA is completely different to the one that the english courts charged him with. And even if found not guilty it was not cashleys testimony that was the basis of it.

Terry not guilty in court- means it was not racist abuse
Terry guilty by FA means- it was foul and abusive language.

And you still forgot how Ivan was not charged after punching a player earlyer this season.

Its tight money wise so would have to do it before the imminent rise for both

Its a toss-up really. Baines on pens and free kicks but Brana will likely get more clean sheets and when Chelsea are on top of a game he likes to think of himself as a forward. Brana's a real threat from set plays as well.

Are they really though? I have Rafael (bound to score high long term), Baines, and three relative cheapies (Caulker, Baird, Demel), for rotation. Is Ivanovic worth downgrading my front 8 of

        Bale, Pienaar, Cazorla, Mata, Sterling
        Rooney, Ba, Fletcher

Appreciate the advice. Tevez is never nailed on. By GW8 I want city cover and it will either be tevez or silva, unless I see a reason to dump RVP in which case it will be Aguero. Keeping lots of options open. The point is, what you suggest is sensible except for one thing: I miss Berba at home to Villa! 🙂

One thing about Tevez for GW8, Aguero travels with Argentina for qualifiers. Tevez doesn't. I'd say he looks pretty certain to start at the Hawthorns.

Hey Daniel, you asked for it.

Manchester United have cause for complaint as unique survey highlights Premier League errors

Manchester United would already be celebrating retaining their Premier League title, rather than preparing to surrender it to Manchester City, if every key refereeing decision had been made correctly this season, a study has shown.

Manchester City will win their first title for 44 years with victory against Queens Park Rangers at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday but thorough analysis of every big decision made by officials has revealed that Manchester United should be four points clear and already crowned as champions

More than 200 hours has been spent analysing 674 decisions from all 370 games played this season including disallowed goals, penalty incidents and sendings-off.

Each replay was watched repeatedly in slow and super-slow motion with effort made to side with the referee where possible – decisions were not changed unless there was clear evidence that they should be.

The big calls that went against United and could have influenced the course of the title race included a penalty decision given against Rio Ferdinand for his tackle on Hatem Ben Arfa at Old Trafford last November, which meant they drew 1-1 with Newcastle.

There was also a potentially game-changing Jonathan Woodgate foul on Javier Hernández which was not given in the 1-1 draw at Stoke last September and should have resulted in a penalty and a red card. Each of these decisions probably cost United two points and a foul in the penalty area on Patrice Evra not given in their 3-2 defeat by Blackburn is likely to have deprived them another point.

The theory that the impact of refereeing decisions evens itself out over the course of the season is challenged by the research. United, for example, had 59.3 per cent of incorrect decisions go against them; City had 73.7 per cent of incorrect calls go against them. The difference between them and United is that when they lost out to refereeing decisions it didn’t alter the eventual result and only cost them two points.

The decisions analysed were those which could have, or did, lead to a goal. Match scores were adjusted as if each of the 179 incorrect decisions had been corrected by video technology in real time and an assumption made that any penalty that should have been given was successfully converted. The adjusted league table was then constructed based on the revised match results.

Among the 674 decisions analysed were 345 penalty calls made or missed, 129 key offside rulings and 135 incidents which did or should have led to a sending off.

Im considering bringing in Noble for Hazard this week and Silva for Hazard next. I know it seems a bit off the wall to not just get Silva now and worry about Guthrie another time but I definately need a playing 5th midfielder, don't want Sterling, and this week vs. Soton at home while Silva and Hazard have tough fixtures seems the most logical time to do so. Anybody agree? (Don't want Puncheon due to rotation and have only 4.8 to spend)

Even though Seamus Coleman is OOP in the wrong direction, I think he's an intriguing prospect at 4.8. 4.8 for the new Leighton Baines! Even if he's on midfield points. Surely he'll win the battle and keep Hibbert out for good now, he's a cracking little player.

I have hung on to Kompany so far. Is it time to cut my losses?

Probably not. Thought they were excellent on Saturday. Sunderland didn't create that much but when they did City got in some great tackles and blocks. If you've kept him this long, would hold on now cleanies are coming.

On a WC, is it worth to get rid of Clyne and Demel now that they are showing as injured... or is it worth to hold them...

Also which combo will score more points till end of December?

    1) Rafael / Silva / Jelavic
    2) RVP / Pienaar / Nelsen (or similiar low priced defender)

Clyne apparently will be back after the break & don't think Demel's is too serious. Depends how much money you have to upgrade them... aren't really better option around the 4.0 mark.

      That's a tough call between 1 & 2, I'd probab;y avoid 2 if Nelsen is in addition to Clyne & Demel

Well cheap defenders should be your last priority so assuming everything else is set then I would transfer them out. Clyne is really average and so is the SOU defence but they have some decent fixtures meanwhile WHU upcoming schedule is intense to say the least.

I'm seriously considering Noble over Hazard or Silva this week. Gonna be a massacre at Upton Park!

yes, I watched him deliver his usual 2 pointer. I told you, I like him as a player, but he generally assists the assister, no good for FPL. I am glad to be rid of him.

Thoughts on Aguero. Is he definitely less of a rotation risk than tevez?

No. He is definately first choice but that doesnt mean he will be rotated less in the league. Aguero will start every CL game if fit so that could easily mean more PL starts for Tevez.

I reckon the reason he's getting rid is because Chelsea's fixtures are becoming difficult.

Think I'm going to hold on Mata for another couple of gameweeks. If I did Hazard to Silva and Tevez to Berbs, it leaves me enough in the bank to upgrade Michu to Mata and Jenkinson to Sagna in a couple of weeks, thoughts?
