Plenty of Premier League stars were in action right across the globe yesterday, giving Fantasy managers much to fret about. While David Silva’s owners wait anxiously for news on a possible hamstring problem, England’s game with Poland this afternoon is set to cause further apprehension:

Croatia 2 Wales 0
Gareth Bale, Chris Gunter, Ashley Williams, Ben Davies, David Vaughan and Steve Morison all started for the visitors. Morison made way for Reading’s Simon Church just after the hour mark, while fellow Royal Hal Robson-Kanu also came off the bench with eight minutes remaining. Nikica Jelavic was an unused sub for Croatia.

Czech Republic 0 Bulgaria 0
There was only one Premier League player in action in this one, as Chelsea’s Petr Cech played the full 90 minutes between the sticks for the hosts.

Cyprus 1 Norway 3
Fulham duo Brede Hangeland and John Arne Riise both started for the visitors. Hangeland scored for the second game in a row this past week – the Cottagers centre-half also grabbed the equaliser in a 1-1 draw in Switzerland last Friday.

Bosnia 3 Lithuania 0
Asmir Begovic and Edin Dzeko played the full 90 minutes for the hosts. The City forward produced a goal and assist, while Begovic returns to Stoke having kept a clean sheet in both his nation’s games over the international break.

Macedonia 1 Serbia 0
City pair Aleksandar Kolarov and Matija Nastasic were both handed a 90 minute run out for the away side. Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic saw action with 22 minutes remaining for Serbia.

Hungary 3 Turkey 1
West Brom’s Zoltan Gera squared up to Liverpool’s Nuri Sahin here. Both played the 90 minutes, with Gera emerging victorious after firing home his side’s third from the spot.Reading’s Jem Karacan was an unused sub for the away side.

Iceland 0 Switzerland 2
A north London pair were on opposite sides for this clash. Gylfi Sigurdsson managed the full game for the hosts, as did John Djourou for Switzerland.

Slovakia 0 Greece 1
Only one Premier League player started this match. Martin Skrtel began for the hosts, though Fulham’s Giorgos Karagounis was introduced for a 24 minute second-half sub appearance.

Belgium 2 Scotland 0
A total of 16 Premier League players featured, with seven taking part for the hosts. Jan Vertonghen, Thomas Vermaelen, Moussa Dembele, Vincent Kompany and Christian Benteke all started, with the latter two both finding the net. Eden Hazard replaced Dembele at half-time and produced the assist for Kompany’s goal, while Kevin Mirallas was given a run-out in the second half, with 55 minutes gone. Sunderland’s Simon Mignolet was an unused sub.

James Morrison, Steven Fletcher, Danny Fox, Gary Caldwell, Darren Fletcher, Alan Hutton, Shaun Maloney and James McArthur started for Craig Levein’s side, while Jamie Mackie introduced at the break. Morrison and Steven Fletcher were also subbed off on 79 and 76 minutes respectively, while Charlie Adam and Russell Martin were unused subs.

Italy 3 Denmark 1
Mario Balotelli recovered from the flu bug that kept him out of last week’s win in Armenia to take his place in Italy’s starting XI. The City forward grabbed a goal and assist and was subbed off on 89 minutes, while Daniel Agger played the full match for the visitors.

Germany 4 Sweden 4
Arsenal pair Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski both featured for the hosts. The former managed 90 minutes and also scored his side’s third just before the break, while Podolski was afforded a three minute sub appearance towards the end of the match.

Sweden fielded three Premier League players. Jonas Olsson and Seb Larsson both started and Alex Kacaniklic came on at half-time. The Fulham man provided an assist for the Swedes third in a sensational comeback – they were 4-0 down with just 35 minutes left to play.

Spain 1 France 1
David Silva was subbed off after just 13 minutes with a possible hamstring injury for the hosts, although it’s also being reported as a possible ankle problem – Fantasy managers are eagerly awaiting any injury updates after many chose to draft him in over the last couple of weeks. Santi Cazorla replaced the City playmaker, while Fernando Torres also featured; he came on for Andres Iniesta on 75 minutes. Pepe Reina was an unused sub but there are unconfirmed reports that he may have picked up a muscle problem during the half-time kickabout – any possible injury only adds to the worries at Liverpool just now.

Hugo Lloris, Patrice Evra, Laurent Koscielny and Yohan Cabaye all started for Les Bleus, with the latter fit again after missing out against Japan on Friday with a stomach problem. Lloris saved a Cesc Fabregas penalty, while another north London protagonist, Olivier Giroud, climbed off the bench with just three minutes left to grab a last-gasp equaliser. Gael Clichy was an unused sub for Didier Deschamps’ side.

Latvia 2 Liechtenstein 0
Just the one Premier League player in action in this game. Reading’s Kaspars Gorkss played 90 minutes at centre-half for the victorious hosts.

Romania 1 Holland 4
Having been rested for last week’s win over Andorra, Robin Van Persie returned to the Dutch starting XI last night with a goal last night. Van Persie lasted 90 minutes, as did Ron Vlaar and Jonny Heitinga. Gabriel Tamas didn’t have the best of games for the hosts – the West Brom defender conceded a penalty and resultantly picked up a yellow card.

Portugal 1 Northern Ireland 1
Nani played the full 90 minutes for the hosts and supplied the assist for Helder Postiga’s equaliser. The outstanding Jonny Evans played the entire game for the away side, as did Fulham pair Chris Baird and Aaron Hughes.

Faroe Islands 1 Republic of Ireland 4
Kieren Westwood, John O’Shea, Seamus Coleman, Marc Wilson, James McCarthy, Jon Walters and Robbie Brady were amongst the starters for the away side, while Shane Long was given the final ten minutes. Wilson returned a goal and assist, while fellow Potter Walters also found the net for Giovanni Trapattoni’s side. Stephen Kelly and Ciaran Clark were both unused subs.

Bolivia 4 Uruguay 1
Luis Suarez played the full 90 minutes and grabbed Uruguay’s consolation goal, while Liverpool team mate Sebastian Coates was an unused sub.

Venezuela 1 Ecuador 1
United’s Antonio Valencia managed the full 90 minutes for the visitors, showing no side effects from his recent ankle injury.

Chile 1 Argentina 2
City pair Pablo Zabaleta and Sergio Aguero faced off against Wigan’s Jean Beausejour and West Brom’s Gonzalo Jara. Aguero lasted 86 minutes before being subbed off, while the other three played the full 90.

United States 3 Guatemala 1
Clint Dempsey, Geoff Cameron and Tim Howard all managed 90 minutes for the hosts. Dempsey had a hand in all three of his nation’s goals; he bagged a brace and provided an assist as the US came from behind. Maurice Edu climbed off the bench for the US with 12 minutes remaining.

Costa Rica 7 Guyana 0
Just the one Premier League player was in action. Everton’s Bryan Oviedo lasted the full 90 in a stroll for the hosts.

Mexico 2 El Salvador 0
United’s Javier Hernandez was afforded 30 minutes as a second-half substitute and grabbed Mexico’s second with five minutes remaining.

Honduras 8 Canada 1
Wigan’s Maynor Figueroa lasted the full 90 for the hosts in an emphatic win. Norwich’s Simeon Jackson started for the visitors but was subbed off later in the game.

Iran 1 South Korea 0
Arsenal fringe player Park Chu-Young played the full match for the defeated visitors.

Iraq 1 Australia 2
Fulham’s Mark Schwarzer and Villa’s Brett Holman played from start to finish for the visitors. Former Everton star Tim Cahill was amongst the goals as Australia sealed a late win.

Japan 0 Brazil 4
United’s Shinji Kagawa played the full 90 for Japan, while Southampton’s Maya Yoshida also started the match. Yoshida was subbed off with a minute remaining, while Ryo Miyaichi was afforded a game time late on from the bench. Chelsea trio David Luiz, Ramires and Oscar all started for Brazil. While Luis lasted 90 minutes, the latter two were subbed off as the game moved into injury time, with Spurs’ Sandro replacing Ramires in central midfield.

GOW3 is a must play imo. Graphically brilliant.

Killzone 3 the best shooter on this list. Although I'm playing through Borderlands 2 at the moment and thats a load of fun.

Wouldn't bother with Assasins Creed - very easy and boring. Check out 'Dishonored' if you're after a stealth game.

Dark Souls my favourite game of recent times. Its hard as nails and takes a long time to finish but absolutely brilliant.

battlefield and cod are kind of like fifa and pro evo, except killing things rather than kicking things.
It rely is personal choice, would suggest trying to get cheap early version of both to give you an idea which you prefer.
It also depends if you plan on doing mission only or going online, some games are best for mission only and online is bit crap

Anyone looking at Demps over Bale? He outscored Bale the previous 2 seasons. Has a lot of goals in him. Looks like his spot is nailed on as well. On the negative side, he has Siggy as competition and is not the main man like he was at Fulham. I am just surprised how the main man last season gets very little mention out here.

I think you hate me. Have i done anything to you mate?

          1) It makes sense. Player A is a very good player and is nailed on for the moment. Player B, another very good player, sitting on the bench, strong competition.

          2) I saw the game yesterday, RVP was strolling around, hardly an intense game for the Dutch, hence my comment.

What i meant here was coverage is necessary when you look at the good run of fixtures, so its necessary 'on paper'. But City have 2 pts out of 2 in the champions league, so, due to them being in a tough group and still having to fight it out, rotation is on the cards and hence they can be avoided.

if he plays 90-80 mins against both ajax and wba, he is definitely going out.

and even if he does start against swansea, he probably won't play more than 60-70 mins

same goes for the weeks after that

Serbian FA - Danny Rose behaved in an inappropriate, unsportsmanlike and vulgar manner towards our fans. They also deny any forms of racism towards the U-21 team.

I would have thought there would be Uefa officials at the game. Surely they would be able to confirm or otherwise. In the meantime their fine will prob be increased from 30k to 60k. Such is the Uefa 'clampdown'.

What is also crazy is the powers that be in his country are giving him licence to respond in such a manner, in normal circumstances his job would be on the line, and quite a number of the players would be removed from the team. Barton, who is a twat, got a 12 match ban, and hefty fine, who was elbowed in the first place. These young players are being treated like heroes.

depends. i wouldn't like to use an FT to chop and change my keepers every few weeks.

i don't plan my team too far ahead but i do check my keeper rotation. i've found a decent combo and i'm sticking with it.

I was hearing reports of 6+ weeks, 3 weeks ago, assuming ligament damage.

So another 3 weeks sounds about right.

          thought szsesny is back soon?

btw i have him, but wouldnt transfer him in now
          so i wouldn't mind a price rise (unless it's 0.2)

The only way racism is going to be stopped would be for players to refuse to play until the relevant governing authorities take action.

Racism in the UK and abroad can be wildly different - it seems over here its a select few/sections of a crowd whereas abroad (Spain, Serbia) its a cultural thing where only a ban on their team playing would suffice.

This is only meant to provoke discussion. Peoples thoughts on what UEFA should do?

It seems harsh to ban a country from playing football when it's perhaps their society that is breeding these racist views rather than guys kicking a football around every now and again.

It might seem harsh to punish the innocent along with the guilty but it appears to be the only sanction that works. Paltry fines that don't impact the guilty in any way are obviously futile.

In all seriousness I kind of agree with martin. Its disgusting deplorable behaviour that shouldn't be tolerated but since when has it been fifa/uefa' job to fix social political issues in member countries? They have to take a stand of course but the country' leaders and people need to acknowledge there is a problem in wider society...

Banning the team is the first step. Its not their fault but shouldn't they be coming out and condemning what they heard?

I think i get the point scs it just opens a can of worms when fifa/uefa start interfering in social political issues. That said the fact there has been no contrition at all from the serbian players, fa or coaching staff then a ban of some sort does seem a fair punishment.

I don't see how banning Serbian fans from all international football would interfere with social/political issues?

It deals with the actual issue without punishing the team.

I'm personally just fed up with the pussyfooting around the real issues concerning racism (in football, society is a different matter but wouldnt it be nice if football could show us the way to go?)

Agree but there is no viable way of changing something that is cultural/part of a society.

A ban sets a great precedent. Something which the FA have failed to do on countless occasions.

Bans are the only way to deal with the issue. Its destroying sport and I'm fed up reading about court cases/handshakes/non handshakes/abuse.

Banning their football team sends a very strong message to their society that racism will not be tolerated. If they can't stage a match without idiots monkey chanting at black players then they lose their right to stage a football match in European or World competition. When opposing players of all nationalities and ethnicity can be secure in the knowledge they can play on their soil without being racially abused then they will be fit to join world and european competition again.

there is no point doing it in isolation, it has to go hand in hand with education.
You cannot make a group conform to society if they do not believe themselves to pbe part of that society to begin with.

You also have to remember that a 'prohibition' model doesnt eradicate the issue, it will still exist underground or in existing social environments.

The Serbian government remain inactive in all this, they allow their FA to respond in such a manner. It is basically a nation which supports racism imo, and have now intention of cleaning their act up. Why should they, its what they believe in.

It HAS to happen. Even if this were the first incident, it would have to happen but it's happened before.

And their attitude of defiance - effectively saying racism is OK - should double the penalty.

Thrown out of qualification. Only allowed to play friendlies behind closed doors in the meantime is my shout

If you want to punish the fans but not the team the only way to do it is behind closed doors. This could be done for qualifying too.

Okay maybe not ban them. Perhaps something like making them play their qualifiers and future games in neutral grounds/countries for a fixed probationary period.

Apparentely the rules are that the player should speak to the captain, who then speaks to the referee. I believe then an announcement is made over loudspeakers. After that its a bit vague but thats the time you can leave the field of play.

UEFA unfortunately appear to have no balls over this. The Bendtner fine for showing his sponsered boxers getting more of a fine then any 'racist abuse or chanting' during the Euros.

Its going to take time to change opinions of a nation clearly, sport should help change views but too severe punishment isn't going to speed up the process.

I loved season 1, but then completely lost interest after that. That and Prison Break should've stayed at just the single season imo.

In a statement on their website, the Serbian FA said: "(The) FA of Serbia absolutely refuses (sic) and denies that there were any occurrences of racism before and during the match at the stadium in Krusevac.

"Making connection between the seen incident - a fight between members of the two teams - and racism has absolutely no ground and we consider it to be a total malevolence."

No you make a stand against racism and stop talking about doing it.

Serbia docked points/thrown out of qualification or forced to play an indefinite amount of games behind closed doors/serbian fans banned from attending

The one I can agree with here is banning fans from attending...I think that serves as a good disciplinary charge against the fans who were guilty of racist chants.

You ban the Serbian team from competing, no team, no fans.

But is that not discriminatory in itself? Banning the team...

                                Fatuous.

The issue is that all players have a right to protection from racial abuse. If a country's FA cannot offer opponents' players reasonable protection then they do not have the right to stage games thus making them ineligible to take part in competitions.

Not sure if I agree with the question I'm about to ask. I am in no way saying that the two countries' political systems are even remotely alike, so apologies in advance for any offense. I am trying to find a sports parallel, not a political one

How slippery is the slope from here to banning South Africa during apartheid? There is a precedent for nations to say to a rogue country they will not play with them. If you are not actively eradicating racism then you are not doing enough.

Interesting comment, did teams refuse to play South Africa in various sports during the Apartheid?

Obviously Apartheid as an issue was several orders of magnitude bigger than this one. But as an example of how to use sport as a way to tackle racism it's a good one. It helped to show SA just how strongly the rest of the world felt about it.

This is an opportunity to show Serbia how strongly we feel (because it's fairly clear that the Serbian FA don't take it seriously).

No-one really knows right now but the most popular theory is some kind of mild hamstring problem = a few weeks out.

I'm trying to view this guy's team (the most valuable team on FPL) but all I can see is his history page showing his various gameweek ranks...

is there any way I can see his players? Curiosity and all that
