There’s a couple of top-flight encounters to entertain us this afternoon. QPR prepare for the visit of Reading, with both sides looking for their first win of the season, before Liverpool play host to Newcastle at 4pm. As always, our Dugout Discussion Chatroom is open and available ahead of the early Loftus Road showdown:

The team news from Loftus Road is in and is as follows:

QPR Starting XI: Cesar; Bosingwa, Ferdinand, Nelsen, Traore; Mackie, Diakite, Granero, Taarabt; Hoilett; Cisse

Mark Hughes makes three alterations from the side that narrowly lost 1-0 at Arsenal last weekend. Stephane Mbia drops out through suspension, with Anton Ferdinand coming in at centre-half. Jamie Mackie is preferred to Shaun Wright-Phillips on the right flank and Djibril Cisse replaces Bobby Zamora as the lone forward.

Reading Starting XI: McCarthy; Gunter, Gorkss, Morrison, Shorey; McCleary, Leigertwood, Tabb McCleary, McAnuff; Hunt, Roberts

Brian McDermott makes four changes from the side that drew 3-3 at home with Fulham last time round. In defence, Chris Gunter replaces Shaun Cummings at right-back, while Sean Morrison comes in at centre-half, with Adrian Mariappa dropping out. Elsewhere, Garath McCleary is preferred to Jimmy Kebe on the right flank and Pavel Pogrebnyak is omitted from the first XI for the first time this term, with Noel Hunt partnering Jason Robert in a front two.

    Am I the only one hoping for a quiet 1-1 result with goals (following defenders losing the ball in their own half, giving no assists) from Ameobi and Suso to give a nice bunch of 2 pointers for those that matters?

      ooohh, tough one that, massive fan of both but I think I'd go Rafael considering you'd need another transfer to get in Baines (unless there is an obvious route?)

        Ridgewell > £4.3m doesn't give me much

        That's the 4 possible moves that enable me to get Baines. Any of them you would do?

          Not Michu this week, Ridgewell has tough fixtures but nobody worth having for 4.3 I don't think.

          Tevez > Ba and Pienaar > Ramirez would tempt me greatly, mainly because I have Ba and will be doing Pienaar > Ramirez at some stage over the next few weeks.

          Rafael looks the better shout fixtures wise for a while now though. If getting Baines either means (-4) or you'd have to wait until next week where they have rdg NOR and then a bunch of tough fixtures, I'd go for Rafael.

            Great advice. Thanks mate. I agree Baines would need to wait at least a week eating into the 3 good fixtures he has left or cost me points versus a cheaper Rafael, costing me no points and better fixtures in the long term.

            Pienaar > Ramirez is worth considering on it's own.
