Entry to the seventh FFS Paddy Power Cup closes this evening – you must have your team entered by 8pm tonight to be considered for the Qualifying Round. The tournament is free to enter and there are prizes for the top three teams, plus the Quarter Finalists will qualify for our first Fantasy Football Scout Shield later in the season.

The Paddy Power Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the Manager highest in the overall standing will progress.

Results from the Qualifying Round will be calculated once the FPL has fully updated the game for Gameweek 10.

Read on for details on the Paddy Power cup but, if you’re a veteran, you can go straight here to make your entry.

When does it start?

The qualifying round takes place in Gameweek 10. All entries received before 8pm on Monday November 5 will be entered into the qualifying round. In this first cup competition we will have 1024 qualifiers for the first round – those 1018 (plus 6 previous winners who earn a bye) with the top scores in Gameweek 10 will progress to the first round proper to be played in Gameweek 11. Again, FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions.

How do I enter?

Simply fill out the entry form here. You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry. You can also check that you are entered via this list.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round will be published on Tuesday November 6

What is the Gameweek Schedule

Each round of the Paddy Power Cup will be played out over the following schedule:

  • Qualifying – Gameweek 10
  • Round 1 – 1024 teams – Gameweek 11
  • Round 2 – 512 teams – Gameweek 12
  • Round 3 – 256 teams – Gameweek 13
  • Gameweek 14 – Break
  • Round 4 – 128 teams – Gameweek 15
  • Round 5 – 64 teams – Gameweek 16
  • Round 6 – 32 teams – Gameweek 17
  • Round 7 – 16 teams – Gameweek 18
  • Gameweek 19 – Break
  • Quarter-Finals – 8 teams – Gameweek 20
  • Gameweek 21 – Break
  • Semi-Finals – 4 teams – Gameweek 22
  • The Final – 2 teams – Gameweek 23

When are the fixtures released?

The fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

Are there prizes?

Sponsors Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes and we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down as follows:

Winner – £100 worth of free bets. £100 Amazon Voucher
Runner-up – £50 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £25 Amazon Voucher

In addition, the Quarter-Finalists from this tournament will gain entry to the Fantasy Football Scout Shield where they will play the eight Quarter-Finalists from this season’s Members Cup. Should any team qualify for the Shield from both Cup tournaments, then the highest scoring losing team from the last sixteen of either cup will gain entry to complete the FFS Shield entries.

Cup Entrants will need a Paddy Power account and be aged 18 or over to be eligible for some of the above prizes. Prizes are also subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. You can, of course, enter without being over 18 and without a Paddy Power account but will not be eligible for the free bet prizes.

If you’ve yet to register a Paddy Power account, then you can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register and bet £10.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Keeping Ivanovic (h) to Liverpool then considering > Rafael

Should I keep Ivanovic the following week @ WBA or get Rafael @ Norwich?

As Smurf says the potential next week is similar, could go either way. Long term its a decent move.

Id go Rafa all the way , BUT rotation may be only around the corner , Small Jones will get some game time inevitably, without stating the obvious Ivan is nailed on.

    My team for this week;

    Begovic
    Baines (c) / Vertonghen / Cameron
    Bale / Cazorla / Mata / Routledge
Rooney / Tevez (vc) / Jelavic

    McCarthy / Sterling / Gorkss / Nelsen

REALLY need to have a decent GW after 3 bad one's from the last 4.

        Thanks, I hope so too.

With Sunderlands lack of threat up front, Everton being a defensively solid team (especially at home) and the amount of chances Baines is creating I think it is worth the risk.

            😉

I mean its a risk for sure, but there are alot of sign pointing towards it being a possible worthwhile risk.

Also note the last time I captained a defender was Ivanovic in GW1 to bring my a nice 48pt haul 😉

No RVP, but the golden triangle of Caz,Mata,Bale.

I like Vertonghen, he must start providing points soon. But with their respectve fixtures, Raf is the better option.

I think the Capt pick is the most important thing each GW IMO and that is where I have failed recently.

Sorry to sound like a complete newbie, but how is the Sell Price of player calculated wrt to Buy Price and Current Price?

You get half of the increase relative to your buy price, rounded down, so a +0.3 gives you +0.1 sell price compared to your buy price. Below your buy price the sell price is just the current price.

You get half the rises since you bought the player when you sell. Rounded down if they've risen by an odd number.

if you buy at 8 and he goes to 8.2 ; you can sell at 8.1.
      You get half the profit.
If he goes to 8.3 you still only get 8.1.
It is rounded down when the profit is an odd number.

I am very annoyed with myself for bringing Lallana in before I realised the impact of Ramirez returning. Looks obvious that Ramirez is the better pick for the exact same money.

How annoyed should I be? For example, should I buy a One Direction record to teach myself a lesson?

Na he is a good player and won't score much less than Ramirez imo. The team as a whole have been really poor but they have a nice run of fixtures and if they pick up and get the goals Lallana will be heavily involved.

Do Jussi > Pants this week (GW11) and then McAnuff > Ramirez next? Ramirez(qpr) is better than McAnuff (EVE) IMO

I don't have any United cover at this moment and kinda worried since their upcoming fixtures looks good. I've been working to get either RvP or Rooney since gw8 by downgrading my defense.

Which one do you guys think best?

    a. Berba + Verma --> Rooney + Sagna (or any -max- 5.6 defender)
    b. Berba + Verma --> RvP + Gorkss (or any other 3.9 defender)
    c. Ba + Verma --> RvP + Cuellar (or any -max 4.7 defender)
    d. Ba + Verma --> Rooney + Rafael (or any max 6.3 defender)
    e. Other options (?)

    Team linked. Any thoughts appreciated.

    Cheers 😀

I would say that RVP and Rafael are the only United players I would place in my squad.

That said, no Rooney! He plays more as a midfielder than a striker and there is only one man who looks like scoring in that team. RVP.

    Bego - Foster

    Michu - Sterling - Mata - Dempsey - Pienaar

    Jelavic - Tevez - RVP

Players don't normally chase after an opponent at HT to get their shirt. The fact that its an unpopular player that put in an awful performance as expected has caused the fuss.

I'm assuming it was for his kid. He was left exposed by Wenger's tactics. Podolksi playing on the left gave Rafael a license to bomb forward as he kept going into the middle and offers no defensive protection. Arteta kept having to come back and help Santos out, leaving them short in the midfield area. It's no coincidence that they scored after Arshavin came on for Pod.

        Goddamn Arsenal fans.

He's playing an intense, high level game and he's thinking about getting a shirt at HT. I agree the reaction has been massively over the top but someone is always going to be made the scapegoat after such a poor individual and team performance.

      Not at half time though...

I'd guess Arsenal fans are mainly upset that their ex-player is the sort of player their own current players clearly see as a bit of a superstar (hence desperately getting their shirt at half-time in case they're not on the field to get it at the final whistle), whereas the United players probably couldn't care less about getting a shirt off most of the Arsenal squad.

It also probably doesn't help that it was Santos, who had an absolute stinker regardless.

Worst GW I have ever had, tough season so far but I still believe my choices will pay off in the long term.

    Begovic

    Baines, Wilkinson, Simpson

    Morrison, Bale, Dempsey, Maloney

    Aguero (VC), Ba(C), Rooney

    Tremmel, Hoilett, Cuellar, Wisdom

    Few pennies in the bank

Dempsey was a one week punt against Wigan, sums up my season so far. If Mata is fit, that's the move ill make or Cazorla.

Hoilett stays until he plays SOU, then ill probably move him on.

Dropping Suarez for Aguero after backing Suarez to the hilt on here, hmmm hopefully that works out. Idea was that Rooney is performing quite well at home, ala last year (outdoing RVP at home when they both play stats wise) and Aguero is performing better then Tevez statistically home and away, plus his upside which probably matches RVP, nice little rotating Captaincy there.

Sod all use if Aguero sits on the bench though. Mancini must think Aguero is very precious, putting him in cotton wool all the time

I dont think rooney over rvp will pay off in the long term, but I suppose time will tell...

Aguero and Rooney will come good but I don't see the point of having them until they come to the fore

You can get tevez and RVP for the same price

Sure, you will look clever when they hit their stride, and you will get the differential poitns for that week, but in the meantime you're getting murdered and I don't think it's worth it

    What's more important?
    A. Getting rid of Demel (for Fonte/Nelsen)
    B. Getting Fellaini (for Yaya, no other option)
    C. Getting rid of Aguero (for Tevez/Suarez)

    Got 1FT and 0.1

Demel injured and tough fixtures coming up but Fonte/Nelsen won't do much for you at all.

I would sell Yaya for HBA based on the fixtures. If you already own him get Fellaini.

Yaya to Fella, assuming you don't have other attacking Everton coverage

Thank goodness Ba is looking like he'll make it for the weekend. Nearly kneejerked him out last night, thankfully due to lack of options I didn't

Yeah, it's weird how few options there are around his price-point. The only possibility I'd consider is Berbs and I really don't fancy his fixtures for a while.

I have berb also, even if I streched to get jelly in I'd never feel the security of having big bad demba in my team 🙂

Utd really are looking the business for goals IMO. Just unlucky at the weekend, could have got 4 or 5 easy. I fear the worst for villa this weekend
