The ScoutCast – Episode Eighty Seven – The Hole

We just wonโ€™t let it lie. Having rinsed through the idea in this weekโ€™s Digest, the prospect of dropping this new breed of โ€œin the holeโ€ midfielders into a new Fantasy position gets another airing in this weekโ€™s โ€˜Cast. Granville agrees but we still somehow manage to argue about it.

Around that particular hot topic, thereโ€™s our usual brand of regulars, plus a preview of the two sides that lie in wait for us in the Fantasy Football Scout Cup and the latest on Edโ€™s team and his work on the new comments system. โ€œMr Ghostshipโ€ had a bad week โ€“ could it be all the attention has piled the pressure on his big coding shoulders?

Take up the role in the hole by clicking this link, or just stream the business in your browser via the player belowโ€ฆ.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Was thinking of switching Bale for Cazorla this week, but liked the way he played tonight and think he can cause Zabaleta/Toure problems on Sunday.

Also realised that Santi has a trip to Panama with Spain mid-week.

Any chance he will get rested for the game with Tottenham in gameweek 12 (which is the 12:45 KO)?

Bit stumped what transfer(s) to do this week

    Begovic Jaask
    Baines Rafael Nelson McCauley Davies
    Bale Mata Cazorla Sterling Puncheon
    Suarez Berbatov RVP

    2FT, 0.2m in the bank

I want rid of Puncheon bit not urgent

Thinking maybe Santi -> Walcott & Puncheon -> Gera?
or possibly just McCauley -> Sagna?

    Any suggestions welcome

I have Federici, who has probably got his place back for Reading, and need to bring in defender for less than £4.1m for Ashley Cole this week:

    A) Gorkss
    B) Nelsen
    C) Clyne/Fonte

I'm leaning towards Gorkss, as I won't play Federici much, mainly Foster.

This move allows me to get RVP for Tevez ๐Ÿ™‚

Jarvis > Maloney or Rangel > Ramis?

Also have Vorm about to drop in price tonight. Already lost £100k on him. Worth bringing Szczesny or Krul in to avoid another £100k loss?

Yeah I would say so. Drops in your selling price are bad considering you only get half of any rise.

Hey guys, any thoughts on my idea to "improve football"...
It's awesome that Fifa have approved goal line technology, but you still may get dodgey decisions like handball goals, dodgey offsides, underserving red cards etc.
I dont understand why they dont have a rule which would allow each team to have two appeals per game. So they can query a decision. Once it's used up that's it. Dont think it would be abused if it was limited to two. Don't think it would undermine the ref, and if bad decisions get reversed, people will be happier after the game ๐Ÿ™‚

Bad idea, it will ruin the flow of the game watching replays.

I think if it is a game changing decision e.g. red card/penalty/offside goal etc. then replay will be a good idea (look at rugby)

Yeah I think thats a good idea. Obviously if you are right you get your appeal back.

Well they do that in American football, cricket etc.. It's crazy to deny technology for very important decisions, there is too much at stake.

Because money. A lack of controversy means less people talk about football at work/school so become less immersed in it. And it helps writes articles.

True but it can ruin clubs. I remember when Coventry got relegated from the Prem because of an offside goal. Cost them millions and they never recovered.

Of course it's immoral and unjust, but what do the FA care? People are starting to point the finger though, hence why they've finally approved goal line technology.

    On A Wild Card......

    Beg / Jaask
    Cole / Baines / Rafael / Cameron / Demel
    Fellaini / Michu / Pienaar / Knightly / Leigertwood
    RVP / Tevez / Ba

0.8 in bank.........plan to boot Pienaar next GW.

Dont like Chelsea / Spurs fixtures over next 2/3 games but would have liked a Mata / Oscar

GO ON - Rip me to shreds - you know you want to!

There's no chance of a surprise price move for either tonight is there? Might as well wait for the pressers if not.
