Having rolled out our Totelfootball selections for Tuesday and Wednesday’s Champions League games earlier this week, we decided to revisit the performances of our respective sides in our bid to win some cash. Here’s how we fared…

With a handful of out of position prospects in our ranks, we had high hopes heading into Tuesday’s proceedings. The ability to tinker with our selection after the team sheets were announced saw us draft in Eden Hazard for Juan Mata, after news came through of the Belgian’s role up front. We also swapped out Juventus Mauricio Isla for team mate Stephan Lichsteiner – both were classified as defenders, though it was the latter who got the nod on the right of his side’s midfield five.

Shakhtar’s Henrik Mkhitaryan was the biggest disappointment. He drew a blank as his side scored five times at FC Nordsjaelland, with Luiz Adriano scoring a hat-trick and Willian bagging a double and assist. More frustratingly, that duo only had three and two shots respectively; Mkhitaryan had six efforts, more than the pair combined, yet failed to add to his four-goal tally this season.

In the end, our single goal came from an unlikely source. We had selected Ezequiel Garay mainly for his clean sheet potential ahead of the visit of Celtic but the centre-half instead found the net in a 2-1 home win. Our decision to draft in Lichsteiner at the last minute afforded us our only clean sheet in a night where only two host sides managed to keep out their opponents. With 56 points to our name, we crawled home in 76th spot.

Wednesday saw a marked improvement from the previous night’s shambolic display. At one point our XI looked to be in with a real shout of winning it but eventually settled for 15th spot, with 95 points – a single point from some prize money. At the back, Porto keeper Helton, PSG Thiago Silva and Schalke’s Christian Fuchs are returned clean sheets; the latter also notching the only goal against Olympiacos for a 15-point haul, while Milan full-back Mattia De Sciglio grabbed an assist for his side’s opener at Anderlecht.

In midfield, three out of four found the net. Porto’s Lucho Gonzalez and Dortmund’s Marco Reus vindicated out faith, while Stephan El Shaarawy of Milan went one step further with a goal and assist in a 3-1 win in Belgium. Zlatan Ibrahimovic provided us with an assist in for PSG’s opener in Dynamo Kiev, though a surprise blank for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar dented our hopes of picking up the pennies.

We were trialling TotelFootball for this round of the Champions League matches and, with the official game still “experiencing problems”, we’re considering continuing to support it over the remaining rounds. Let us know your thoughts on this and any feedback you have on the game if you got involved.

For those still curious, you can still sign up for an account and give it a whirl for this weekend’s round of Premier League matches.

If you want to know more on how the game works, check out our original article.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Bioshock 2 is cheaper than 1 on Amazon for some reason. Found a good condition pre-owned one for £5 so might get that. Seems good value.

Hi guys, would be good to get your opinions on my team ahead of the coming weeks matches, best defenders to play, and where you think I need improvement.

    Current team:
    Begovic---Federici
    Baines---Rafael---Demel---McAuley---Gorkss
    Bale---Mata---Santi Cazorla---Nolan---Fellaini
    Giroud---Ba---Berbatov

Things that worry me is no City cover, and no Suarez. I have 1FT and 1.9 in the bank. Was thinking of saving transfer this game week and then either getting Aguero or Suarez+city cover next week.

    Thoughts and opinions welcome!

Sessegnon or AJ for 4 weeks only , money not a problem

tricky one as AJ has the slightly better stats for this year but the sess of last year is way better

Sunderland are the other issue , being rubbish in an attacking sense this year so far , even the Fulham game was false

        Baines to Cuellar/B.Jones

Might save the other or possibly Ba to Tevez and/or Michu/Fellaini to Walcott

Thanks for the discussion above re my team. In your opinion, whos the better city forward cover?
    1) Aguero
    2) Silva
    3) Tevez

And is it worth waiting till after the next round to get city cover?

      Aguero
      Tevez
      Silva

Aguero+Silva are more steady while Tevez explodes and then goes quiet for a couple of games.

Except RvP, who would be the best United cover upcoming 2 GWs?

    a) Rooney
    b) Valencia
    c) Chicharito
    d) Nani
    e) Young

Suarez...here's my prediction, he will be on his best behaviour against Swansea but then "accidentally" pick up a needless booking against Spurs so that he will sit out the Southampton home game, as this is a game they will feel best equipped to do without their mercurial racist.

I think this was Moyes thinking for Fellaini. He has gotten away with two possible reds recently so I think the refs are gonna be after him.

Still not 100% happy with my team, what do you guys think?

    Bego (McCarthy)

    Rafa, Baines, Clyne (Gorkss, Hughes)

    Bale, Silva, Walters, Sterling (Fellaini)

    RVP (c), Ba (vc), Berbs

Something just doesn't seem right, but I can't put my finger on it. 0.8 in bank.

It's a good team. I mean, Walters is a poor player but he seems to get the points. Maybe your goalies need looking at as Stokes's fixtures start to stiffen but apart from that...you might want to bring in Suarez in a couple of weeks although I think he will end up sitting out the Soton game (see above)

Yeah, the 'keeper problem needs to be resolved in a few weeks. I put McCarthy in to fund RVP, back before he got injured.

I'll let it roll, and who knows who will be hot and who won't be before next Tuesday.

Right, since everyone is bored (Europa league) i have a quandry

    I have .8 spare and 2 FT's
I clearly need UTD cover in attack
Who and how do I get it?
I want shot of HBA and will lose Berba, Saylor and Hazard or even Tevez at a push

    My team is thus....

    Begovic
    Huth Rafael Baines
    Hazard Morrison HBA Michu
    Tevez Suarez Berbatov

    Tremmel Fellaini Saylor Clyne

      Nice back 3 😉

With those guy you don't need Saylor, and Barfa just hasn't performed. But I'm not convinced that any United attacker bar RvP is currently worthy of investment.

If you do Tevez & Ben Arfa --> RVP & ?? Do you have enough money to get a midfielder (at all?)? If not, might be a hit I reckon.

No, it has to be Hazard in there, unless I take Tevez out

A few pages ago RVP Silva and Puncheon in for HBA Hazard and Tevez was mooted

I'd be tempted to get Valencia in. He isn't on fire, but I'd back him to score points in the next 2 home games. Plus, this might be the cheapest you can get him in for all season.
