[sbu_large_image] The Stock Check

A bitterly disappointing goalless stalemate brings Saturday’s events to a whimpering close and leaves us hoping for a Sunday blowout. Here’s the somewhat limited Stock Check on this evening’s “action”…

On the Up

Kieran Gibbs
Back fit and in the frame, Arsene Wenger restored the left-back to his back four and decided to omit Thomas Vermaelen. While this casts some doubt over Wenger’s first choice central defensive pairing, Gibbs looks assured of starts at left-back when fit.

The Villa Defence
It was only their third clean sheet of the season but a determined showing will have encouraged Paul Lambert. With Reading, QPR and Stoke in the next three, there could be some low-to-mid price potential on offer, with Brad Guzan in goal and Ciaran Clark perhaps short-term punts. The injury to Ron Vlaar, which saw him withdrawn just after half-time, will be a concern, though.

Going Down

Santi Cazorla
Having fetched double figures against Spurs, Cazorla’s impact was again reduced by the abject performances of those around him. Without Theo Walcott, the Gunners again appeared to lack pace and penetration and for all Olivier Giroud’s neat touches, he failed to present a significant threat to the Villa defence.

Bacary Sagna
Somewhat surprisingly rested to the bench, the rotation with Carl Jenkinson could be a concern from this point on. With the Gunners progressing in the Champions League, tonight’s teamsheet would indicate that Wenger will look to give Jenkinson numerous opportunities at Sagna’s expense – another boost for Gibbs as the weapon of choice in the Gunners back four.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'm still of the opinion that RVP is 'essential'. If he fires 2 blanks against West Ham and Reading, I may have to reconsider.

QPR, Villa, Norwich.. Only one assistance in 3 games.

If he doesn't do anything against Reading he must leave.

I'm sure more than a few do. Every time I come over I get a season ticket rented to me but they're usually in the Stretford End or the North Stand.

Costs me about £200 quid just to see one game... and I'm still labelled a "plastic fan" or "glory hunter". A mug more like...

Absolutely not! I'm not falling into the Torres trap again. He is finished.

Why would you want Aguero over Tevez?

        Aguero more nailed on
        Ahead on pen duties

Better player, 1st choice penalty taker, phenomenal goals per minute record in the PL soo far. Now they are out of the CL, he'll start. Differential.

Maybe being out of the CL will help but having owned him for 6 weeks there, I can tell you it was frustrating as hell! especially with Tevez outscoring him and being more widely owned.

    B. cole & ba –> shorey & tevez

    Or something different?

Owen should stick to horse racing, horrible pundit. Here, here, here Gomez makes a, a, a, a, a good run. FFS spit it out man, imagine him and Monty having a conversation.

I'm in the odd position of having 2 FTs and not really seeing any changes I want to make. Assuming there are no injuries or suspensions from tomorrow's games, my team for Tues/Wed will be:

    Bego (Jussi)
    Clyne Baines Clark (Demel McAuley)
    Fellainin Michu Bale Mata (Sterling)
    Suarez RVP Berbs

9/11 at home, 0.4m in the bank. Had thought of Baines to someone to free funds but Baines is on pens and at home. Any ideas?

whens the last time everton got a penalty?

you could upgrade fell or michu to silva, especially if michu gets a yellow tomorrow.

berbs to tevez or aguero somehow.

get rid of two westham at the back

      want more?

        Cheers!

Yes, maybe Demel is the man to go if Michu/Suarez don't get suspended tomorrow.

        All good ideas though, thanks.
