We’ve got Paddy on the ropes again. A week after our bookmaker friends clawed back our early season winnings, we’re now firmly in profit after back-to-back wins. Following a treble windfall back in Gameweek 13, Christian Benteke and Aston Villa delivered the goal and clean sheet we needed to recall another victory in midweek. Now let’s see if can make it a hat-trick of wins with this week’s Scout Picks inspired markets…

Theo Walcott is first up – another man in form having scored the Gunners’ goal at Goodison on Wednesday. Walcott picked up an ankle knock in that game but trained on Friday and will be expected to be the key threat when Swansea visit the Emirates. This one looks a lip-smacker and with Walcott so integral to Arsenal’s goal threat, we like the look of odds of 5/1 on a Theo goal with a Gunners clean sheet against a Swansea side who have scored just three times in their last five away trips. We’ll take this one for £2 of our stake.

West Brom’s Shane Long crops up next. The impish striker is another in bloom, having notched five times for the Baggies this term. He will go into the clash with Stoke fully rested having sat on the bench for the defeat to Swansea in midweek. Steve Clarke has demanded a reaction to that setback and a win with a Long goal looks a favourable outcome. With West Brom keeping four clean sheets at the Hawthorns this season and Stoke likely to be without Peter Crouch, we’re more than happy with Paddy’s odds of 11/2 on a Long goal with a West Brom shut-out. We’re throw another £2 at that one.

We’re all waiting on QPR’s resurgence under Harry Redknapp and, with Villa at Loftus Road this weekend, there seems to be a perfect opportunity to get the ball rolling. Scout Pick Adel Taarabt is a player we’ve talked plenty about on the site over the season so far, and, as Chris Glover’s Moneyball article revealed, we’re just waiting on Taarabt to deliver on his numbers. This weekend would be a perfect time to start and with Paddy dangling 9/1 on a Taarabt goal with a QPR clean sheet, we can’t resist. This is our bet of the week which gets a healthy £4 stake.

That leaves a couple of quid for our usual treble punt. We couldn’t let the Gameweek pass without bringing Luis Suarez into events so Paddy’s treble offers 12/1 on a Suarez goal against Southampton, a David Silva assist against Everton and a West Brom clean sheet at home to Stoke. That combination gets our final £2 as we look to claim our third win in a week from Paddy.

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

    REPOST

I think most on here are going for Suarez over RVP for Captain. United haven’t been great this season and that’s why, especially away, teams would look to attack them from the go which leaves them vulnerable to counter attacks. And this could only be a good thing for United- playing on the counter?? Even if not for the entire match. This only increases the chances of RVP getting the goals.. That’s why going for RVP (c)..Thoughts..?? Flawed logic?

RVP with wingers - surefire captain material.

RVP in Fergie's diamond - not so much.

Don't have Suarez, but he's the better captain pick this weekend over RVP.

perfect logic. Risky to go for Suarez. If you've spent 13+ on RVP, you need to captain him against Reading

I'm benching Michu over Sterling and Fletcher because

    - Michu's generally a home boy. The Anti-Sigurdsson almost, his goals have 90% come at the Liberty Stadium.

    - Thought Sunderland aren't scoring. Fletcher seems to be involved in the attack a lot, regardless. And Sunderland pick their form up away by a whisker. An assist and a BP in the last 2 games is sure a sign of things to come.

Sterling's scored 24 points in his last 3 home games (11 - 2 - 11), so statistically, he seems to be the best best off the 3 to rake in an assist or a goal this weekend.

    Sounds well reasoned out? Thoughts?

He'll struggle a bit without Pablo Hernandez. Wont get as much of the ball as he usually does (not that that's a lot either). Dyer is a little more selfish and tends to shoot rather than play the pass..

It's all stats based, I couldn't think of another way of picking one. Everyone has different opinions I suppose..

As an alternative to Baines> Enrique, I could do:

    Defoe>Long
    Wisdom>Enrique (-4)

    Thoughts?

I actually think Baines has reasonable fixtures:

TOT - kept a CS last season
sto - don't score many goals
    whm - as above
    WIG - great fixture
CHE - again, Everton won this 1-0 last season

Sess on the other hand was just useless last GW. But I think he has the biggest potential to go explosive.

Alreet lads. Worth getting berba in this week for lambert (-4 pts), or should I just leave it until next week? I don't see lambert scoring much at anfield so it might be worth it. Got plenty more transfers to do down the line too, so it would be good to get another done this week

An LFC fan posted something interesting a few hours ago:

With Lucas back in the squad, BR plans to use Gerrard as a false 9 with Suarez and Sterling flanking him.

Allen, Shelvey and Lucas will make up the midfield 3.

      Enrique back at LB.

Tbh, I don't think Lucas will start this game, he's back after 3 months. I had a chat with an LFC fan, and he said Wisdom's fit to play, so Enrique will play on the wings.
