On the Up

Demba Ba
The Senegalese striker went into tonight’s game having scored just once in his last five league appearances but rewarded the patience of his owners with a brace. Ba converted the early spot-kick before leaping on the rebound from Davide Santon’s effort to take him to ten goals for the season. Tonight’s returns will earn him further interest, although Ba was struggling with his hamstring late on, with Alan Pardew optimistic post-match that this was just stiffness rather than a setback.

Fabricio Coloccini
The towering Argentine has emerged as the most popular member of the Newcastle defence in terms of FPL ownership and his return to the Magpies’ back four has added the stability that helped them to their first clean sheet in ten league outings.

The Wigan Defence
Robbed of Antolin Alcaraz for much of the season and with further niggles biting, Roberto Martinez now faces more problems at the back with Maynor Figueroa banned for the vital home clash with QPR, while Gary Caldwell picked up his fifth booking tonight which will also see him miss the weekend. With Ivan Ramis remaining an injury doubt, the Latics look set to field a patched-up back four for the visit of Harry Redknapp’s side.

    If Ruiz is back then Berbs moves forward and fantasy potential goes sky high....

    Before Rafa arrived at Chelsea I would have whole-heartedly agreed with you.
    
    But post-Rafa Chelsea seems to be a different animal than RDMs Chelsea.
    
    Mata will still score points because he's a class player butr he'll probably be rested every third game and Chelsea wont be scoring as many goals in general

      Yeh I've heard of QuFu. Is it ok? I'm not a fan of living in small cities (I did for one year and felt cut off from the world......couldnt even buy any cheese ffs!!!)

This leaves me with 0.5M in the bank. I could also get rid of Bale as he’s injured, maybe for Walcott?

      Only counts at GW38. Try to reach your peak that week & you will be happy. Most seasons it's my highest point. You will just play safer if inside 10K is your goal.

Gw10 I had good rank and everything was fine. After that every move I've made has gone horribly wrong.
This weeks Ba => Suarez was just icing in a cake.
Didn't want to do it, but as everybody had Suarez (c) - what else I could have done..... 🙁
Sun is not shining here at 270k.

    I think it's a good team, biggest problem has been timing of my transfers.
    Players that I get rid - start scoring (Michu few weeks back etc, Tevez, now Ba) and players I get lose their form (Ba few weeks back, Berba..).
    Got Michu in this week, so 5th yellow is sure bet this gw.

Sess orAJ...

Everyone seems to be going for Sess, but of the two It seems he's the bigger Punt...

They have both scored 27 points in the last 5 (form 5.4). The only real difference in points production is that AJ has returned attacking points in three of the last five (60 per cent), whereas Sess has produced in two (40 per cent). So, it seems AJ is 50 per cent more likely to bring attacking returns, but if Sess delivers, it's more likely to be a big haul...

Thoughts?

  Think you've got it exactly right. I started out thinking Sess for sure. But I now am quite sure there is nothing between them. AJ more likely to be involved in a goal. Sess more likely to score. I'm not expecting huge things, but my gut is telling me to go with AJ.

    But nothing from this year says Sess is more explosive. He is more of a goal threat, but AJ is more involved in Sunderland's offence. I honestly don't see a big difference. To me it is a coin toss. Really ... it is Sunderland. I'm not expecting explosive.

  If Fletcher plays then I'd probably prefer AJ as there will be someone to finish off his crosses but if he doesnt make it then I'd probably go Sess as the onus will be on him to be the man to step up and fill Fletchers goalscoring boots.
