Doesn't need to be at his best to be worth considering for Fantasy Football, especially considering they'll have a double gameweek some time in the new year.

He still looked really poor against Monterrey (his goal was a lucky deflection). But hey from a fantasy point of view if he plays poorly and still gets goals because of his positioning, he may be worth a punt.

The problem with getting OOP players is that they tend to be more prone to rotation / dropping.

Luiz will only play in midfield until Chelsea sign another defensive midfielder... Many news websites say that could happen in January with Chelsea looking at Tiote and Paulinho...

Is Luiz actually likely to get any more attacking points playing as a defensive midfielder?

The holding midfielders at the big clubs do tend to get the odd chance of points from open play, just because teams play so deep against them that they get to go right up to the box in some of the attacks.

He picks up the ball often very deep with very little pressure, and looks to play 1-2s to teh edge of the box and shoot
His chance creation and shots on goal are high, but they are generally low waulity chances and shots, and not as worthy as other midfield superpowers such as Bale
