Next up, a quick update on the results from the fifth round of the Paddy Power Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII ahead of this afternoon’s sixth round draw. World number three Iyad Zahlan continued his ominous march towards the silverware by seeing off davescold by 69 to 51.

Ro6035 progressed with a superb 90 point haul in Gameweek 16 – the highest score from any of our round five victors, while Chris White edged his way past Gylfi-MyNerdSon 80-79 in the highest scoring tie of the previous round.

Behind the scenes, we’ve already made the draw for this weekend’s round of matches and will be rolling out an article on the final 32 later today.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Doesn't need to be at his best to be worth considering for Fantasy Football, especially considering they'll have a double gameweek some time in the new year.

He still looked really poor against Monterrey (his goal was a lucky deflection). But hey from a fantasy point of view if he plays poorly and still gets goals because of his positioning, he may be worth a punt.

    Oh...Chelsea won earlier...Mata....Torres! 🙂

    Also just read this...

"It has been slightly disappointing that David Luiz has played for Chelsea in the period he has and no one has thought to put him in midfield until now. He was doing all the things you would expect him to do in that position. It might well be tougher for him against tougher opposition but I think the positives he give you outweighs the negatives."

We could be looking at OOP Luiz

RVP gets heavily marked, and unlike at Arsenal Rooney utilises this as he bombs from deep unmarked.

That was more regarding the effect of Hernandez, but I suppose it depends on whether Kagawa is on the wing in a 4-2-3-1 or whether they play the diamond.

Is Luiz actually likely to get any more attacking points playing as a defensive midfielder?

The holding midfielders at the big clubs do tend to get the odd chance of points from open play, just because teams play so deep against them that they get to go right up to the box in some of the attacks.

Not really no. Cahill is probably even the better option if Luiz goes DM as Cahill then looks nailed on. I was just relaying what I had read. Not saying he's going to be more attacking now as a result just that he may be OOP.

if you only play 10 players, your 11th player scores 0. If you take a hit, your 11th player starts with -4. So unless the chance of having a clean sheet is greather than 2/3, on average you will be worse off by taking a hit.

Need to factor in attacking points also - and there's also the intangible value attached to an extra transfer. Let's face it, Gorkss is going to have to be replaced at some time so you might as well do it when you can't field 11 - despite the fact that, in all probability, it will cost you 2 pts.

disagree, Lucas IS nailed on, he fills the role for Liverpool that Britton did for Swansea, he offers a shield to the back 4, and there is no player Liverpool have who is better. This protection allows the full backs to be more advanced and utilizes Gerrard further up the pitch where he is far more dangerous

is he that good? or does he fall squarely into the "flatters to deceive" category? I think maybe he does

He picks up the ball often very deep with very little pressure, and looks to play 1-2s to teh edge of the box and shoot
His chance creation and shots on goal are high, but they are generally low waulity chances and shots, and not as worthy as other midfield superpowers such as Bale

Hey Guys, first post on here as really not sure what to do, first time in years ive been left struggling behind the leaders in my mini-league!

    Jaask,
    Demel, Cameron, Mertesacker, Shorey,
    Nolan, Felliani, Santi(v), Bale,
    Ba, RVP(c)

Subs: Cerny, Hazard, Gorkss, Pogs 1FT £1.1mil in bank

Considering: 1) Gorkss > Bassong and benching Demel - to improve my v weak defence. or 2) Hazard/Bale >Michu. - My whole league seemingly have Michu though. Is he essential? Then use funds next GW to improve defence.
