Glen Johnson picked the perfect opportunity to propel himself onto Fantasy radars with a stunning strike in Liverpool’s 3-2 win over former club West Ham last Sunday afternoon. With Jose Enrique remaining doubtful for the Reds’ home clash against Villa this weekend, Johnson looks an enticing option as Brendan Rodgers’ in-form side prepare for a favourable run of upcoming fixtures over the festive period:

Mainly utilised as a left-back this season, Johnson only recently returned to his natural position on the opposite side of defence in Gameweek 13 and, as he becomes accustomed to his right-back role once again, has started to pick up the points. His goal and maximum Fantasy Premier League (FPL) bonus haul against the Hammers followed on from an assist and a couple of bonus against Southampton in Gameweek 15, meaning Johnson has now returned double figures in each of his last two appearances. The fact that he had previously produced one assist all season is a clear indication of his recent improvement.

Lucas’ return to the Liverpool first-team seems also to have played a part in Johnson’s upturn in performance. With the Brazilian content to sit in front of the back-four and break up the opposition play, Rodgers is finally able to push on both his full-backs, with Johnson and Enrique lending weight to the Reds’ attacks from deep. With Enrique now preferred in defence again following a brief out of position stint in the front three, Johnson is perhaps edging ahead in our Fantasy thoughts after the Spaniard admitted earlier today he still has concerns over the hamstring injury that forced him off at Upton Park.

Looking at the next five fixtures, it’s difficult not to be swayed by Liverpool’s assets. At the back, in particular, they have been hugely consistent in recent games at Anfield – just a single goal conceded in the last five in front of their own fans. Investment in Rodgers’ defence looks a sound option, then, with Villa, Fulham and Sunderland all set to roll up to Merseyside between now and Gameweek 21 and, while a trip to Stoke is always tricky, the Reds also travel to QPR, offering further chance of points before their schedule takes a turn for the worse and the winter wildcard comes into play.

With just one defeat in their last 11, Liverpool are clearly starting to hit their stride under Rodgers and Johnson could prove crucial over the hectic next few matches. A price of 6.3 in FPL and 6.5 in the Sky Sports game may deter many, though an ownership of less than 3% in FPL underlines his case as a real in-form differential worth considering.

    Hi All,
I am looking for a good value 7 inch tablet. So far my research is suggesting the Google Nexus 7.

    Any recommendations here?

Samsung 7" is great, current offer at Tesco gives like £50 cash back as well, worth a check out. Parents just bought the 10" for my sister for christmas, man who worked in Tesco said the Samsung is just as good as the iPad and easier to use for a 1/4 of the price

they have no actual twitter account. I meant if you go through the actual timeline on twitter and type in "bib theory" you can find a list of teams they post every week and then you can compare it to the actual team. Ir's a bit of work but I have done it for last 2 weeks and it is pretty accurate, i'd say 95% right.

If you go to red white kop forums - one of the biggest liverpool fc forums around and is the rival to red cafe (man utd forum) you will see bib theory is seen as a legitimate source for team sheets for Liverpool

I can choose any midfielder in the Premier League for a 1 week punt. Sounds great, right? The world is my oyster. So why can't I pick one?

    If fit, Bale. Otherwise:

    1) Dempsey (but Bale could make a surprise comeback and Dempsey could be benched)
    2) Valencia
    3) Young

    The Christmas punt guide 2012.
With the wildcard only a few feeks away, i think it is a good time to get in a few differentials and gamble a little and all of that can be undone pretty quickly. So i am just going to list out a few key differentials for this Xmas period.

    1) Giroud(8.5M) - Form is not particularly on his side but Arsenal struggle more without him. The fixtures are on his side and he faces arguably 5 of the more weaker defences in the league. He is also not a major rotation threat and should start a fair few games.

    Ownership - 2.7%

    2) Aguero (11M) - Form is not particularly on his side, but he's the kind of player who can throw the form book right out of the box. With great fixtures, and us hoping that Mancini realizing the difference between the two halfs at the derby, one can be slightly optimistic. He hasn't particularly exploded yet and and that is the huge upside. The downside being the Mancini factor.

    Ownership - 6.3%

    3) Captain America - This man is on quite a run and has incredibly good fixtures on his side. If AVB doesn't give us positive news regarding Bale tomorrow, i myself am thinking of acquiring last seasons top scoring midfielder. Priced at 9.1M and owned by 2%, Dempsey in my opinion is the most attractive differential around and one who can quickly earn us some points as well as money. Downside is when Bale is fit, we have to see which one of Ade/Defoe/Demps gets dropped.

Any more options you can think of apart from Rooney, Snodgrass, Young/Valencia, Torres? I quite fancy a punt as it is a good time to do so in my opinion.

If you have read, i have mentioned that Aguero and Giroud don't have form on their side while Dempsey does. Aguero's explosiveness potential though, is massive. And Giroud..well..you know..

I have also highlighted Dempsey as the one that i am looking at most closely..

Its hard to imagine Dempsey competing with the Mata / Bale / Silva brigade. All of those have form over a longer period. Why pick Dempsey who may or may not do well, when there is uncertainty over his form and over his role in the team?

My love affair with Lukaku is again flashing white hot. During the Xmas period his minutes can only go up, and he's explosive enough to do damage in the 20 minutes he's allowed. If he starts against say, Norwich and Fulham, I think he could be worth the money.

Sky has been great for me although I am about 500m from the exchange so ADSL was always good. Moved to Fiber (80/20) a month or 2 ago and it's outstanding. Had a problem initially and they just sorted it with only minor hassle.

The boss concluded: "It's looking very good. Jose Enrique came off with a problem in the last game - we just need to assess how he is. He's a little bit tight down the side of his hamstring.

"Apart from that, our condition has been excellent and it's great credit to how the players have prepared themselves."

According to the bib theory, Cole's set to start, guess we won't see Enrique OOP ever again. 😀

You're thinking of the general theory of bibativity. The special theory of bibativity holds that it is the bibs worn on the FINAL training session before the weekend match that are key.

"The fact that he had previously produced one assist all season is a clear indication of his recent improvement. "

isn't that a stretch? his shortcomings earlier, coupled with a pair of nice games therefore he's going to do great? He's never scored that much, he just looks cool. I've been tempted/tricked too many times by Glen Johnson and never been happy with the results.

hmm...just see I'v the exact money to do Gunter and Giroud out for G Johnson and Suarez..would need a 4 pointer though.

Suppose I could always just do Gunter to Johnson and just wait til after the deadline to get Suarez...
