While Sunday brought a rather tepid conclusion to the weekend’s action, the lack of incident allowed us more time to digest the numbers behind the Gameweek so far. In this latest foray into the depths of our members data, we offer further insight on the performances of Adel Taarabt, Raheem Sterling and David Silva not only for this weekend, but the last four Gameweeks and season so far. As for Glen Johnson, well, we’ll let the numbers do the talking…

Shawcross is like almost all defenders. When you play someone who can easily fly off the handle, you pester him the entire match until he explodes. This is taught at all levels. Also, defender learns to not react. Makes him look like a martyr. Aim is to reduce the other team from 11 to 10. Should have happened here. I can see how the ref might miss one, but three incidents? And what was the linesman doing?
Open Controls-
Yup, been learning that since u14 junior football.
Open Controls -
-
yeah..poor Shawcross. he's not that type of player
Open Controls -
I agree to an extent, however a centre back also needs to also carry an air of, touch me and you will suffer!
Open Controls -
Joke really.
Pulis was right, that's three we've had against us now. Luiz on Walters, Clark on Whelan and now Fellaini on Shawcross.
Not only should he have been sent off but he should have also been up in the magistrates for GBHOpen Controls

Best Fellaini replacement for 8.1?
Other mids - Silva, Mata, Taarabt, PuncheonOpen Controls-
Michu?
Open Controls -
Downgrade a defender and get Bale?
Open Controls

How does 2 West Brom defenders at home to Norwich sound?
Open Controls-
A bit dodgy, Norwich are on form.
Open Controls

Looked up the minutes Silva played during last year's Christmas and thought I'd share
Dec 18 - 90 mins
Dec 21 - 68 mins
Dec 26 - 90 mins
Jan 1 - 34 mins
Jan 3 - 76 mins
Although he started 4/5, I'm slightly put offOpen Controls-
I'll end up with Mata depending on Wednesday's game.
Open Controls -
Did you also check Aguero's Christmas period stats?
Open Controls -
That's pretty good. That's what I would have thought, thanks for the info. What was their league position at the time, though? Weren't they clear at the top? May affect thing thins time 'round that they are 6 points behind.
Open Controls -
Every last one of the big hitters will be rotated for at least 1 game.
Open Controls-
Not Suarez, not Bale, probably not Cazorla.
Open Controls-
For Bale it is true, but he has the suspension risk. Suarez and Caz more second tier players, but also a good point on them( I do think Caz could get a rest at some point has played alot of games. Maybe its smart to go for the low risk lower return at this point like those 2. I personally think we need a mixture of both as City attackers and Roo/RVP are too good to ignore.
Open Controls
-
-
-
Intresting. Looks like Mata is the way to go.
Open Controls -
Genuinely think most of the big players will play a similar amount of minutes this christmas, with the exception of Bale and Suarez who will get more.
Everyone else is looking at 4 starts out of 5 with a few more substitutions if they get comfortably ahead in games.Open Controls
-
-
Solved. Happy.
Open Controls-
Care to let me in on it? 😉
Open Controls -
Do tell.
Open Controls-
In the words of Brucie, my favourite.
Sidwell to Puncheon
Fellaini to Yaya Toure
Now it's all about timing.Open Controls-
You don't feel like you're 2 weeks late for Yaya then?
Open Controls-
I'm never too late for Yaya! 😉
Open Controls
-
-
Sod it. I don't even need to move Sidwell. Happy days - no hit.
Just Yaya!Open Controls -
Prepare to be a disgruntled Yaya owner. He also walked away with a knock, hopefully not bad. He is the lease likely to get rotated of the City players, though, so there is some method to the madness, I suppose. For a hit?
Open Controls-
Nope.

Bego Chesney
Clark Morrison Bardsley Nelsen _______
£5.6 to spend, no doubling please... 🙂
Nasty? - No attacking returns?
Caulker? - Rotation risk
Ridgewell when fit?
O'Brien? Fav atm, lot's of dosh for a rainy day......Open Controls-
Clichy.
Open Controls -
Nastasic, imo.
Open Controls -
WBA for me WR. Ridgewell or Olsson.
Open Controls -
Are you keeping Morrison and Bardsley?
Open Controls -
A City defender, should get a few clean sheets with their fixtures
Open Controls -
Olsson.

RE ; Fellaini.
I for one, think that the head butt is the worst and lowest kind of assault. I was subject to one once, as a teenager (on the football pitch too) and it's just so sneaky.
No chance to avoid it and no chance of retaliating, the way you could with an old fashioned punch.
Fellaini = Scumbag. I don't care if he apologised. If we earned that much per week, we could afford a snappily dressed PR agent too.Open Controls-
Agreed. I am actually happy to transfer him out. I hated owning him.
Open Controls -
-
Too visual for my liking.
Open Controls
-
-
How many games did Barton get for punching Morten Gamst Pedersen in the gut two seasons ago.. Anyone remember?
Open Controls-
Open Controls
-
3 I think. Standard violent conduct ban that would have occurred if the ref had seen it and sent him off.
Open Controls
-
-
As an Arsenal fan, Fellaini went up about 10 notches in my estimation, yesterday.
Open Controls-
Roy's your that much of a muppet I can't say I'm surprised!
Open Controls -
I don't blame Shawcross for that leg break on Ramsey. It was awful and a crunching tackle, but i don't think it was malicious. I do blame Nigel DeJong for the leg break on Stewart Holden. DeJong is scum and I'm so happy he's off to another league (though I'd prefer he's be out of football altogether)

Tbh the 'good egg' posts regarding his and Moyes' comments are a joke. They both knew they were bang to rights and it's a cynical damage limitation exercise on both parts...
Open Controls-
That's why Arsene does it all the time ... oh wait, no he doesn't. In fact, very few do. Moyes deserves some credit for his comments.
Open Controls -
Eh? struggling to understand how apologising for that act can help reduce the potential punishments...please do explain? are there any precedents in the for such things in the past? (ie, acting contrite in public can help reducing the bans)
Open Controls-
You kidding? Of course it does..

or
B) Fellaini -> Yaya (already got Silva)Open Controls-
A
Open Controls

A) Fellaini > Mata/Bale
B) Fellaini > Tarrabt
C) Fellaini + Sess > Mata/Bale + Tarrabt (-4 Hit)
My Front 8 is: Silva, Michu, Fellaini, Sess, Sterling, RVP, Suarez, Berb
Any thoughts?Open Controls -
The great thing about Yaya is that he is likely to play every minute 'til he goes to Africa.
Very important to have a dead cert starter at christmas, theyre few and far betweenOpen Controls -
Who gets most points between now and the Jan wildcard?
Berbatov
Aguero
Defoe
Suarez
BaOpen Controls -
1st round of the cup this week then! Bring it on!

If you qualify It's a tough qualifying process. 😉
Open Controls -
Here's to hoping to be drawn against a dormant team!

Need a bit of help lads. Have 2 FT and 0.3 in the bank. Assuming Fellaini is banned for 3 games, would any of these moves look good?
A) Foster + Fellaini --> Cech + Puncheon (with 1.5mil in the bank)
B) Wisdom + Fellaini --> A.Cole + 5.7 mid
C) Wisdom + Fellaini --> A.Young + Clyne/Demel/BertrandOpen Controls -
Rafael -> Sagna
Fellaini -> Silva
(-4)
Good moves? Cheers in advance.Open Controls -
Thoughts on the best defender for 4.7?
Open Controls -
Fellaini > Bale
Suarez > Aguero
for -4 ?
already have Silva and MataOpen Controls -
Fellaini out for
(A) Young
(B) Carzola
(C) Silva
(D) Yaya
(E) Other?
Current front 8 - Michu, Fellaini, Bale, Mata, Sterling, RVP, Suarez, Berbatov. 2.8m in the bank.Open Controls -
Silva, Michu, Fellaini, Sterling, Puncheon
van Persie, Suarez, Berbatov
Not happy with having both Sterling and Suarez - I don't think they're worth it and I'm losing points as a result. Which one should I lose? I'm thinking Suarez but he's just so nailed on.Open Controls -

have yourself a mata little christmas

One think this Fellaini incident shows for me. Is how great of a defender Shawcross really is, It takes a special talent to push someone as far as that by just playing defense(not doing a Materazzi), especially one as powerful as Fellaini. This man could move on pretty soon to a big club.
Open Controls-
I think Shawcross is overrated. Ibrahimovic absolutely schooled him.
Open Controls-
He's hardly overrated. Also it was his first game for England and every CB in the world would have struggled to deal with Ibrahimovic playing that well.
Open Controls
-
-
he didn't push him that far by good defence. He pushed him that far by persistent shirt tugging. He's a thug.
Open Controls-
Well, if a player is a thug for shirt pulling, then I guess over half the footballers in the world are thugs?
Open Controls-
not for that. more for breaking someone in half , in a meaningless "challenege" in the centre of a football pitch halway up ther leg.
Open Controls-
You have a penchant for the dramatic. They're professional athletes ... that comes with some emotion and aggression.
Open Controls-
filth. particularly the Ade tackle. Not even on the pitch. thug was wordsplay with tug but I do think he has a nasty streak in him. make of this what you will. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9FJKunkmKQ

Fellaini has always operated on a short fuse. I don't think it takes much to wind him up.
Open Controls -
Yup, one of the most solid defenders in the country.
Hate him FPL-wise though.Open Controls -
Don't United want him?
Open Controls-
-
Yea but rumour has it that Ferguson wants to get him in January
Open Controls
-
-
Not sure, im thinking more like some second tier club like Tottenham or Liverpool
Open Controls-
-
I actually dont know how he would fit into a top club as he is not that good on the ball and the modern CB seems to be needed to move on with the ball a bit. But I the real scouts probably will know better. Id love to see him get a chance though.
I personally think he would fit in somewhere like united where you play defense as a team what he is best at. 1v 1 not so much.Open Controls

Scraping through these gameweeks, desperate to get to that Jan WC. 😀
Open Controls-
I hate this part of the season. I want to take hits but with so few weeks until the wildcard I think they'd be foolish because the moves won't have enough time to pay off...
Open Controls
-
Which one out of these until Jan WC guys..
A - Giroud + Michu
B - Giroud + Yaya
C - Benteke + BaleOpen Controls -
imagine a double-double GW in january with ars, whm, che, sot having two games 😆
right after the WC would be perfect!
szecsny
sagna - cole - clyne - o'brien
cazorla - mata - ramirez - nolan
torres - lambert
😀Open Controls-
And then you'd be effed for the rest of the season with no Manchester players 😉
Open Controls
-
-
Pilkington/Snodgrass. Hmmm ...
Open Controls -
Moving out Baines can have Cole, Zabs and Johnson, or a Man utd defender. Any thoughts?
Open Controls-
David Luiz 😉
Open Controls -
Zab/Vertonghen
Open Controls -
Vertonghen.
Open Controls-
Yup he is very tempting also.
