Fantasy managers were given a heads-up over potential changes to the Gameweek 19 fixture list after a proposed London Underground strike was today confirmed by the Aslef union. The industrial action by tube station workers has yet to be ratified by the authorities but with three games scheduled to take place in London on Boxing Day, this has major repercussions if given the go-ahead:

While QPR have this afternoon confirmed their home clash with West Brom will take place as planned, Arsenal’s Emirates encounter with West Ham and Fulham’s encounter with Southampton at the Cottage could face disruption – a scenario which will leave Fantasy managers struggling to cope and perhaps staring points hits in the face.

At the same point last season, Arsenal called off their match with Wolves but due to the fact that their next game was not until December 31, they simply put the game back 24-hours – this time round, they don’t have that option. With their Gameweek 20 fixture at home to Newcastle scheduled for December 29, it seems that Arsene Wenger’s side will be left with no option but to postpone the Hammers clash for a later date in 2013, should the strike go ahead. Martin Jol’s men could be in the same situation. Fulham’s following fixture at home to Swansea also takes place on December 29 so they, too, could be left without a fixture. However, a report in the Daily Mail today suggested that, at this moment in time, Fulham’s Boxing Day fixture is to go ahead.

We’ve spoken to Arsenal earlier and they have confirmed they are currently in meetings with police to assess the situation – an announcement from the club is expected within the next 24-hours.

As we await news as to whether the FA will charge Marouane Fellaini following his headbutt on Ryan Shawcross, it seems there could be plenty of transfer activity just around the corner as 15-man squads are restructured to cope with the upcoming ramifications. While the possible postponements could potentially lead to the rescheduling of fixtures in January and hand us a chance to utilise our winter wildcards more efficiently, the knock-on effect on the short-term makes the strength of our benches more essential than ever, with many teams struggling to field a starting XI if the rail strike comes to fruition.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Disaster with midfield from gw13 on - Valencia bought in and capatained(out injured), Rafatation with Mata, Fellaini suspended, and wrong captain choice for lousy underachieving Strikeforce - Suarez, Berba and Defoe. From 81k to 473k in rank - Jeez wheres the rope?

lots buy this week on the back of his big score. they want their points. he goes 2 weeks without a score. they all sell. his price plummets through no fault of the existing owners.

Actually, just remembered Pardew saying that although the release clause is 7.5m. There are additional clauses in therre if a move happens which will see the fee rise to the best part of 30m. Read about it around 6 weeks ago but can't remember where now.

I'm not sure how I feel as an Arsenal fan. Obviously he is a better striker than Giroud, he has one of the best goals/minute in the PL over his career, but he wouldn't fit in with our current style. We'd need 2 proper wingers for it to even have a chance..not Ramsey Gervinho and bloody Podolski. He'd have gone well with Song, too 😕

Yeah Ba has never needed wingers...Gutierrez and HBA are barely wingers. They don't even particularly enjoy crossing the ball. The problem with Arsenal's 'style' is it isn't working very well. Better players like Ba would help...but I really hope Ba doesn't join Arsenal.

Arsenal don't have Cabaye/Tiote to do the long balls over for him.
Newcastle don't have proper wingers, yeah, but they have a different style to us. We either need a striker (like RVP was) to drop deep, go out wide, link with the midfield etc. or 'proper wingers' to have the width and fire-power to feed a striker like Ba..or Giroud 😯

I think people misunderstood what I said. I never said Ba needs proper wingers, and I never said Newcastle had proper wingers, I said if Arsenal are going to get someone like Ba they need proper wingers. RVP was the perfect fit, Ba is similar to Giroud in the fact that he doesn't drop deep to much and supply the midfield and is more of an out and out striker.

Alright chaps, team is linked, 1 FT, 1.1 in bank.

    Fellaini > Silva, funded by:
    Rafael > Zabaleta

    4 point hit,

    Yay? Nay?

    Cheers

Fellaini to Silva I can't do unless I save cash elsewhere, hence the Rafael > Zabaleta or Ridgewell > 4.6 defender option

Have exact money to do Fellani and Sess to Mata and Yaya for 4 points, alternatively just do Fellani to Silva?

    Begovic

    Rafael Johnson Fonte

    Fellani Puncheon Michu Sessegnon

    RVP Suarez Rooney

Don't spend the 4. You're potentially making your team worse. Also keep a watch on Mata, Chelsea play on Wednesday.

I was surprised to see pilk only played around 1900 mins last season

Was this due to loss of form or injury ?

just thinking, all this mata v silva debate this week with mata possibly playing v leeds in midweek (logic says rested but rafa says skwaaaaad and scratches his goatee) could sessegnon be worth keeping for one more week then reassess next week with 2 free transfers? southampton are a hugely improved defence but the gut is saying sessegnon is a defence irritant again

Depends what the situation is with Sterling's 'rest' as well as Mata/Bale. I'm not convinced either Villa or Stoke will be easy games Chelsea/Spurs and the prospect of 2 frees is very enticing.

I have no other cover from any of the teams except Sterling who doesn't really count.
